@@sycamore_enjoyeragreed. Videos like these always make cans seem quieter than they really are. I won’t trust anything till I see pewscience put out some real data.
I bet that suppressor is actually loud as fk. You just can't cheat physics. I'm sure it's better than no suppressor at all, which is the entire point (so you can shoot a 555 inside a building and not bleed brain matter out of your nose and ears) 😂
I recall being told that any suppressor that's as quiet as in game, has a short life. Most are still loud, but distort the sound making it hard to pin the location of the shooter.
It isn't. He's not using standard ammo. Here's how you can tell. 5.56 out of a mk 18 still breaks the sound barrier, so you can reduce the audible footprint but you can not eliminate the sonic crack of the round breaking the sound barrier. Also, this stubby can doesn't have the volume or displacement to handle the gas or unburnt powder of a barrel under 14 inches, maybe not even that. So this round is packed very light. I've got the very best cans and there still isn't a single one that can eliminate the first round flash/pop from a mk 18. Some.come.clpse, some.advertose that they do, but I can tell you from experience that it's wishful thinking. He's using 5.56 subs, which means he's using .22lr. When you reduce the velocity you are left with the equivalent of a .22lr. So it is better to look at this as him shooting a suppressed .22 out of a longer than necessary barrel and not a 5.56 out of a shorter barrel.
@@ownthenoob6 some do. Especially when you replace the buffer spring. Feel free to notice the lack of smoke that is not leaving that can or the ejection port. @@moosesimpson8625yea 5.56 subsonic is a stupid idea. you’re correct that it’s basically just 22lr (with slightly heavier bullets). if you want to run a suppressed gun THAT quiet something like 300blk or 45 acp in a carbine (subsonic 300blk is essentially ballistically equivalent to a 45 acp in a rifle) but if you’re actually going to use it for combat and need it to be like, super quiet instead of just masking the muzzle report, your best bet in an AR is something like 50 beowulf, 458 socom, 450 bushmaster, etc. those big heavy rounds will give you more energy at the same velocity than a tiny ass 55/62 gr 5.56 or a 230gr 300blk.
I'm not sure if it's just the way it sounds on the microphone, or if it actually makes it so quiet that the mechanics of the gun are louder than the shots fired. If it's the second one, then holy crap is it getting close to like in the movies and video games. Can never be completely because of the mechanics of the guns, but still pretty impressive.
It’s just subsonic rounds and a tuned AR. This vid is supposed to make you feel like you did in this comment without providing that important information. No 5.56 suppressor (with much more volume) is that quiet with regular ammo.

Seems like your ear pro is about as useful with this silencer as it would be shooting a low pressure pellet gun!!! Lmao. Beast mode silencer my friends!!! If that's the true sound level it's amazing AF!!!
I’m always floored at suppressors. I understand the mechanics of a bullet moving through a barrel and all, but to have such a small hole to exit through blows my mind. Talk about quality. Quality assurance and quality testing must have had a nightmare developing the first suppressors. Edit: again, I understand the ballistics. Suppressors should be $200 max and sold over the counter with no BS GayTF paperwork or wait times. I run a short budget can from Witt. Paid $500 total and waited 10 months. Not the best on the market but it suppresses well enough for an SBR to not piss the neighborhood off
