14:35 Recap should show 98% instead of 100% and 2 "Playable" games, which was Breath of Fire IV and Okage. Thanks for the people who pointed that out! We will revise the rating on our next video where we will test more than 100 PS2 games as usual!
My hats off to you for making this video, because this is big reason I got the RP5, to play my PS2 JRPG backlog. This confirmed my purchase was a good one haha. Right after this video I finally spent the time filling up the rest of my SD card with these beauties. Thanks!
Thanks for making this video. When revisiting the PS2, I usually want to play great old JRPGs that are stuck on that system. I'm already super happy with my RP5, and I can't wait to play more.
@@monospacechannel Same! That's what makes these handhelds seem so magical. At this stage in my life, there's no chance that I'll sit down in front of a TV and grind out any of the PS2 JRPGs that I missed. But on a handheld (especially with this amazing screen), I might actually play though some.
Amazing, thanks so much for this. FYI the recap doesn't add up as you marked Breath of Fire IV as playable (which looks correct given the drop in FPS). I imagine if you bumped the mode to 'performance', it would be fine. In any case, great job!
A bit disclaimer though, Xenosaga have struggled in every device I tested except this one, and I only tested the first several minutes in. It may/may not continue to play smoothl!

As a fan of JRPGs, It is great to see a handheld play them so well. Now I could finish Suikoden 3 for the x time again lol
Glad this exists. I saw another one of these tests where the guy played 50 games, and literally not a single one was a JRPG.
Glad you enjoy it. I'm a huge fan of JRPGs myself!

I'm glad this video was helpful. There were tons of good JRPGs in the PS2, I myself have a huge backlog, not sure when I can start playing them!

You have a few games listed as playable, Arc the Lad being one example, but your final score shows 100% super smooth. Why is that? 🤔
Yeah, my bad! Will revise it on our next video where we will test 100+ PS2 games
Amazing, thanks so much for this.

Yea I got this game on my rp5, and it doesn't have slow down.
Thanks for the input!
This is great, do you ever test out fanslations etc?
Thanks! Yup, I did test some fan-translated games, but only the ones on PS1 so far
Finally someone test xenosaga on this device
Thats it
I'm so buying this!

Can you also do sports game on ps2 like MLB 07 the show, madden 06, NFL 2K5, Freekstlye? No other channel seems to do any sports game..
noted Mate, just stay tuned, we are going to release a 100+ PS2 game tests as we usually 20
How does it handle 2-3x fast forward to grind faster, skip long animations or wandering on the locations?
Amazingly well, I used fast forward in all of my tests to get through the intro faster
Which emulator does it use?
Used the ol' AetherSX2
How about at 1080p? I wouldn't wanna be playing these games in low resolution.
