This is the only way I’ve ever made my Italian beef for over 40 yrs. Difference being I oven roast my Chuck roast low and slow in the oven. I’ve owned several restaurants and my Italian beef was a huge seller.
Oh my goodness Louise, thank you so much for this recipe. About three weeks ago I bought some sliced beef to make sandwiches and it cost me $40 because I was speeding five people. This is going to save me so much money I didn’t even think to use my food, my brothercooked them on the griddle. This will save so much more time. I love you thank you so much your videos are fabulous.
My favorite beef sandwich is from Potillos in CHGO. I found there au jus recipe on line so I am going to try it with your recipe. I put garlic butter on my bread when I toast it. I also make my pot roast the way you started only cut it into 4 big pieces and then put all my veggies on top then my gravy on top of everything so no burn notice. It turns out tender and fabulous. So I can't wait to do this. Thanks for the work to make it. You and Jeff have a great week!
You have that right. Portillo’s has the best beef sandwiches. I plan ahead when I am going to Portillo’s I don’t eat much before I go so I can eat a couple of them
This one really makes me wish I had a Ninja Foodie pressure cooker. I make a Mississippi Pot roast in my crockpot and make hoagies with the toasted hoagie roll or French bread and melted provolone. It’s so delicious. This beef recipe looks really good. Wonder if I could make this in my crockpot also and just brown the meat, onions and peppers in my frying pan first. This looks so good!
Looks delicious. You could use Chinese beef flavor also like a stir fry in a sandwich. My father, being Sicilian, we made Italian subs with Italian sandwich meat. Bit we used Virginia olive oil on Italian bread sliced like a sub with 3 cheeses. It was delicious. Thanks for sharing tjis recipe. Will have to try om my slow cooker as I don't have a pressure cooker God Bless. Love your videos.❤😂🎉😊
you can add all the beef at once if you want .. you just have to make sure to keep stirring it.. so not to burn it all. then once browned do whatever after 👍 I would generally use a big pan over a gas hob for that part though then add to the pressure pot.
I recommend adding some sugar, crushed red pepper and MSG to your seasoning blend. You don’t add enough sugar to make it sweet, you just add enough to make your beef more delicious. Add some Worcestershire sauce too. Again, don’t add so much that people can identify it, just use enough so it has that extra umami flavor that makes people ask “What’s in this?” because it tastes like restaurant quality beef. Cool video! Awesome thumbnail photo!!! 🥇
@@gretaoverstreet8572I would start by adding 1 1/4 tsp of MSG (half the amount of salt) to your basic seasoning mix. If you like that, you can experiment with gradually going all the way up to a 1:1 MSG to salt ratio. As far as the Worcestershire sauce goes, start with 3 to 4 tsp for a four pound roast. Let the sauce hang out with the meat for 15 to 20 minutes, taste it and add more in 1 tsp increments if you like. A couple more things, if you have to buy Worcestershire sauce, give the inexpensive store brand a try. I’m using a generic brand instead of the much more expensive Leah & Perkins stuff and it works fine. Finally, try using fresh ground black pepper if you aren’t already doing so. I think it makes a big difference.

@@TheSaltedPepper Thanks, Louise. I did write it out for myself. But when I share someone's recipe, I like to have their own link. Anyway, thanks for this demo. I'm going to try it tomorrow. Aren't chuck roasts versatile?!
I agree, my husband hates a messy sandwich, burger, spareribs, wings any hand held food, he'll use a knife and fork. I am like ohhhh yay messy food. And that is why they created napkins, right?😊
Big Duke's mayo fan here but, I think a good horseradish sauce would be good on this. Looks really good. Use that au jus sauce, that's where the real flavor is.
I make Philly cheese steak in the crock pot/pressure cooker all the time. I actually prefer it. And I'm able to get a large pack of unseasoned taco meat. (Which is pre-chopped stew meat.) And it makes Philly cheesesteaks quick and easy. The meat is tender. Regardless of the cut you use. I don't really want Philly cheesesteaks the regular way anymore. I like the slow cooker version a whole lot better.
My mother really never taught me how to cook she was so worried about me getting burned? When i was a kid. Im 55 now? My husband does all the cooking because he said i can't cook?😂😂😂
I do agree that chicken breasts in a pressure cooker, unless submerged in liquid and cooked just right, don't turn out well. However, chicken thighs work beautifully. If your beef has a strange texture, it is probably either not cooked long enough or cooked too long.

Add banana peppers and mushrooms to that sandwich.

Virgin olive oil.

If you add all the beef at once it will steam more than brown, but in this recipe is doesn't make a huge difference.
Looks bloody lovely 👍🏻🇬🇧

Thank you for the tip. How much Worcestershire and msg for a four pound roast? ❤

Yes! Horseradish sauce would be great!
This my first time seeing your channel. The recipe looks amazing. If youve not tried it, put a little prepared horseradish in your mayonnaise.
As soon as I find a chuck roast on sale, I buy it. This is a very versatile meat. I cook it up and make several different meals from it.
Blessings blessings always

YUM❤
I'd halve the peppers & add sliced mushrooms.
I’m hungry 👍

We dont go to sub for a different reason, sub dont honor the coupons they sent out and lands on our mailbox. Its been 6 years now since.

Mix. Your meat in a bowl
That is exactly what I said in the video. LOL
"Take a sharp knife"??? In my home it's just called a knife.
Not a fan of any meat in a pressure cooker....just seems to overcook..especially chicken! Beef seems to have a strange texture in the pressure cooker!

OK, you are really boring. I already know how to cook.
😂
Sloppy!
