A lot of memories here for many Falcons. The buildings are no longer here, but the many memories still linger as long as there is one Falcon left. For those who have passed on, fly high and wait for the rest of us Falcons to join you. Forever Falcons ❤
I went to Johnson Middle School. 6th grade, from 1961-62. Mr. Parrott was my wonderful teacher, he loved choir and we sang a lot. I went on to choir in the 7th grade there. 6th grade was like any other grade school class, and in a separate building and the 7th grade where we changed classes every hour, was in a building next door. I don't know where the HS was. We lived at Yokota and I was bused there for 2 yrs, about 30 min north, if my memory is correct. Thx for putting this together! We came home in 1963.
Ok. I was the class of 1972. My name was Debbi Austin. I was on track to graduate there and then go Stateside. My parents had a bad hiccup. My dad took us kids to Okinawa in the middle of the night over Christmas break 1969. I ended up back in San Antonio Texas to finish my senior year.
An absolutely fabulous video... thanks! I visited Iruma AB back in 1992 as apart of the old Comm Center that was still there. As we toured I saw a lot of these old buildings and some of the civilians who were with us were actually service members and worked on the base back in the day. Good memories... Tonight, as my wife and I came back to Camp Zama from Atsugi NAF, we talked about how much the bases that remained after the restructuring of the '70s have changed... melancholy for sure.
A sad reminder of days gone by at Johnson High School. Many of us walked the halls of this great high school. The halls are walked no more. We will remember the days of Johnson High School. Go Falcons !

I was there '72 and '73. I recognized a couple of students and teachers. Best school I've gone to. Thanks Ken Hoppe.
Of the multiple schools I attended as a brat, the DOD schools were the best!

Tom Barry who created JapanBrats died in August 2022.
Bless him!
Rest in Peace Tom.
😊👍
One of the unique experiences of overseas brats is that most of the places they lived just don't exist anymore.
