Watching this on waking has set me up for the day. It is wonderful to feel as if I am back there again after over seventy years and to see it all in such unspoiled condition. It's impossible to choose favourite bits, but the sky, trees, bird sounds and greenness linger in my head. Glad you confirmed it was Pendle Hill I spotted. Great stuff! Thank you so much.
I'm glad you enjoyed it and it managed to give you an outside feel to the start of your day. The scenery is still all unspoilt there and hopefully it will be for many more years to come. Early May is my favourite time there, when the leaves are back on the trees, there are far more birds around, bluebells and the smell of wild garlic lingers through the woods.
I did that trial today with my 13 years old daughter. We love it. We followed your video, and we are so happy to finish it in 2h8m. We love it . Thank you
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it👍 It is always good to get some positive feedback to know people enjoy what you are making...makes it all the more worthwhile!
Glad you enjoyed it - it is a great walk with some wonderful geological features. You were luckier than I’ve been to see a peregrine - I’ve not seen any for a few years now doing the walk…
I can’t think of any way this video could have been better. The judicious use of fast-forward was perfect for my taste, and the commentary was good. It elevates my spirits to know the English, well some of them, still have such beauty and freedom to Roam in it. And on such elegant, naturalistic, well-looked-after paths and gates.
Thanks for the comments and glad you enjoyed the video 👍 We do still have quite a lot of places where we can freely roam and all the national parks do a great job of looking after the footpaths…and councils too (well…sometimes!)
Thank you so much for this video. We are coming to England tomorrow from France and we plan to do this walk with our kids. It helped me see that it is ok. Was a bit worried about the steps… very well made video 👍👍👍
Thank you - always good to get feedback and positive comments 🙂 It's looking as though it could be a little wet for you tomorrow, but the weather is better monday and thursday, if you are still here then. It's great scenery on this walk for relatively(!) little effort, but if it is wet, you just need to be careful walking on top of the limestone, as it can be slippery when wet.
Thanks - I do like the OS app for that - it is only avaiable on their paid for version rather than the free one, but I do think it gives a great perspective and helps on planning walks. I think a similar thing is available on a couple of the other apps, but having used OS maps all my life, I've just kept with the OS version, which I think works great for things like this.
Glad you enjoyed the video and couldn’t agree more 👍 Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and Janet’s Foss make for a great walk with wonderful scenery - the Dales and Yorkshire at its best!
I do a LOT of walks, and i mean a LOT of walks, so i do warch a lot of this kind of videos, I'm not saying that yrs is.ONE of the best, what I'm saying is that yrs is the VERY BEST, absolutely brilliant brilliant, doesn't focus on you and yr friend, "oh look at me" kind of thing just the best information we need for a GREAT walk, SUBSCRIBED, and will be watching ALL yr work..... LOVE IT, keep up the great work. 👍
Thanks for the very kind words - I think that’s probably the most positive comment I’ve had 👍 No need to worry though…I won’t be heading in front of the camera anytime soon…I’m sure people would much rather see the landscape than me 😂
Thanks and glad you enjoyed 👍 If it is May when you get there, that’s generally a great time as all the bluebells are out in the woods before Janet’s Foss. It can get quite busy parking wise at weekends and bank holidays…
Glad you enjoyed the scenery. Many great geological features around there in the Dales - but yes, guess one downside of limestone is that it can get very slippery especially when wet.
@@walks4all I conquered my vertigo a few years ago, by standing at the edge of limestone pavement to photograph Malham Beck far below. The view from the top is incredible and really brings home how massive Malham Cove really is.
@@DaveBartlett That is certainly one place to conquer your vertigo with the drop off the edge! The limestone pavement does provide wonderful views and great photo opportunities. Being there on the top does really let you feel just how big it really is. It never feels quite as high from the bottom looking up, as it does from the top looking down...
Glad you enjoyed - can’t 100% remember but pretty sure it was cash and cardless. If you are there early enough or on quieter days midweek, some free roadside parking as you head into Malham just before the car park on the left.
TBH I’m not sure. Legally maybe not, but on very early morning walks I have seen the odd tent there that was packing up. Where I have seen more tents very early morning is on top of the cove the far side of the pavement and further up near Malham tarn. I’ve also seen people on the flat approach to Gordale Scar. There is an official campsite as you leave Malham towards the cove. Sorry not much help here but the only wild camping I really do is on the Lakeland Fells.
Thanks 👍 I didn’t know that. I’ve just been having a quick read and see that he lived in Kirkby Malham for quite a while…I’ve a few more planned for around here and up at Malham Tarn, so will mention it then…

I'm glad you enjoyed it...hopefully the weather was kind for you and you got some decent views on your way around.
This video has to be one of the best that I've ever watched on TH-cam. It's amazing.
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it👍 It is always good to get some positive feedback to know people enjoy what you are making...makes it all the more worthwhile!
Best walk ever. Can’t do it any more but it’s in my head.
Couldn’t agree more…you can’t get much more stunning scenery anywhere in the UK. Walks create wonderful memories…
Did this walk last week and really enjoyed it I was also lucky enough to see a peregrine falcon flying over and all around me would defo recommend it
Glad you enjoyed it - it is a great walk with some wonderful geological features. You were luckier than I’ve been to see a peregrine - I’ve not seen any for a few years now doing the walk…
Such a beautiful location. There is no place on earth like Yorkshire. Thanks for a great presentation.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it. I fully agree, it’s stunning around there…and most of Yorkshire come to that!

In Malham next week and looking forward to this walk - scenery in the video looks amazing. Walking in the footsteps of Harry Potter as well.
How you enjoy - snow forecast for the end of the week so could look very picturesque, although limestone could be slippy. Enjoy the walk…

The OS fly through app near the end us a great way to show the walk not only an accurate distance but also an elevation guide.

Stunning video and scenery. Got to be one of the best walks in the U.K. Malham cove is breathtaking.
Glad you enjoyed the video and couldn’t agree more 👍

Absolutely gorgeous
It is…it has to be some of the best scenery in Yorkshire…if not the UK 😊

What a fantastic vlog ,so brilliantly informative the best wè have ever seen 👍
Thank you kindly - glad you enjoyed it 👍
this walk is stunning
It can get a little busy at times, but it must be one of the most picturesque walks in Yorkshire...if not England
Agree, outstanding presentation and information
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it 👍
Truly an outstanding video, I was planning on this walk with my sons and this video has helped so much, thank you

This is excellently presented information. Thank you so much.
Thanks - I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Very well done video ! Thanks for the great work.
You are welcome - glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Just found your channel, great vids! Really helpful!
Thanks - glad you enjoyed them 🙂 Hopefully, if we see some sun again (!) I’ll get a lot more added this summer…
I did this walk today. Beautiful scenery. Be very careful on the limestone pavement at the top of the cove they were quite slippy today.

Great video! Very helpful
Glad you liked it...it's a very picturesque walk if you haven't done it...the only downside with that is Malham can get a little busy at times.
What is the postcode for car parking please planning to go tomorrow thank you
Hi, It's BD23 4DA for the Malham National Park Visitor Centre car park.
@@walks4all thank you so much
@walks4all thank you for this brilliant video. Came across it by chance and it is on my to do list.
A detailed video; very nice...
Glad you liked it 🙂 More in the Dales coming soon…
@@walks4all looking forward to them.
Is the car park cash only or card as well plz great video enjoyed

Sorry - meant contactless - not cardless. I think they do take cards!
Is it possible to camp at the bottom of malham cove?
TBH I’m not sure.
Legally maybe not, but on very early morning walks I have seen the odd tent there that was packing up.

We went malham as a school trip
That’s a great place for a school trip! I don’t think we ever went anywhere interesting…
Bill Bryson the american writer, once lived around here.
Thanks 👍 I didn’t know that. I’ve just been having a quick read and see that he lived in Kirkby Malham for quite a while…I’ve a few more planned for around here and up at Malham Tarn, so will mention it then…
