    Brilliant video.
    I find this walk the best of the three.
    I just completed Ingleborough today and found this the easiest out of the three.

      Glad you enjoyed the video. I do find Whernside the easiest as well to walk out of the 3 Peaks....following the way shown, there are no steep stepped climbs as there are with the other two - for some reason I always feel as though I've not done as much climbing when I reach the top, and I do find the views from the top better than the other two.

    Excellent video, have done this walk a few times but it was really nice to see the full walk through from a different angle and all the things I missed!! 😀

      Thank you - glad you enjoyed it 👍 I must admit, when I get home and watch the video I’ve taken, I often notice things I’d missed when I was out in the walk!

    Really useful, well covered and narrated too 👌🏼

    Excellent description. Although this route is pretty straight forward, it can be easy to get lost on some walks and other vidoes just gloss over the directions. I will be checking out some of your other videos.

      Thanks 🙂 Yes, trying to show the whole route so that people can make a decision as to whether the walks are for them or not. I should be adding quite a few more in the Lakes and Dales over the next few months...

    Great vid 👍, did whernside in low cloud with four hours of rain, it was a slog, at least I can now see what I would’ve seen 🤣👍

      Thanks 👍 I do try to take the walks when there’s good visibility…but that has meant not too many filmed this year with all this rain! Glad you’ve finally seen what you’ve walked 🙂

    Great content, myself and my family did this walk but in reverse of what you did up the steep side first about 2 years ago
    It was our first time and I was proud of myself as it was the first peek I had done .

      Glad you enjoyed it and that was certainly a very good first peak to choose. I've rarely done it that way round as I quite like the extended view across to Ingleborough as you walk along the top, but doing it the way you did does save coming off down the steeper steps to Bruntscar. Hopefully you'll get to do Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent if you haven't already...

    Great video and terrific idea to show the full walk. I've done the walk up Whernside a few times. Always amazes me how gentle the climb is to get up to such a height. A great intro walk for people and very accessible, even if the descent down the other side can be a bit treacherous if a little wet

    • @walks4all
      @walks4all  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks David. It does seem to feel a bit like that, that you get great height gain from relatively little effort. Uploading my Ingleborough from Clapham walk later tonight, and whilst lower than Whernside, the climb up onto Little Ingleborough always feel a lot harder than Whernside climbs...

      Yes - the paint on the outside has been getting flakier and flakier for quite a while! I went past a couple of days ago with workmen there, so something is currently happening. Hopefully they’ll do the same as they did at Garsdale a couple of years ago…

      That’s not good, have you or are you ever going to do a video of the wharfedale 3 peaks I’d love to do that walk but I’m scared of getting lost I can’t read maps, your videos are very good for directions, I’m autistic it’s hard for me to join walking groups, though I’m new to the Y3P after doing it with a group then again alone, I’m going to Gaping Gill and Trow Gill Gorge soon with the help of your videos and I can do Whernside circular without having to go on the road for the last part now thanks very helpful 👍

    • @walks4all

      The Wharfedale 3 Peaks are on my list to do, but realistically it will be next summer. I've a few more in the Dales and Lancashire planned that I want to add next and then most of the winter will be ones in the Lakes. When I've done it though, I'll let you know...

    We did this hike in May this year and the weather wasn't the great that day. Started out with a drizzle at Ribblehead but the further up we got rain and it become quite windy. Not an issue as we had the correct gear to cope with it all. At the top the mist had rolled in. Coming back down the path the sun eventually came out. Despite the weather it was a enjoyable walk.

    • @walks4all
      @walks4all  ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds like a typical Yorkshire day! It is a walk that offers great views when the visibility is there…

    It's an idea to mention that there are Porta Loos at the back of the station inn, that are always open to the public.

      Thanks - I’ll mention in a pinned comment. I did ask when I was there but they said they were only for people in the accommodation and those using the beer garden. I’m there again in a couple of weeks so will ask again…

      I'm not sure - I assume there is as it is a campsite, but just not sure whether they are open to the passing public. They may have one associated with their cafe when its open, but last few times I been past, the cafe was shut, so I just used their vending machine in the barn for a drink.

    I just did this walk, directions were brilliant and easy to follow 👍🏼 look forward to attempting some of your others. Any plans to do a Wycoller/Trawden/Boulsworth loop? Similar length and a great walk

    • @walks4all
      @walks4all  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you found them ok. Wycoller and Boulsworth are on my list to do, but the next few, when the sun comes back, will probably be up in the Lakes. I've never done all 3 as a loop so I'll have a look at that. Most of my Boulsworth walks have been from parking at Caldwell and my Wycoller ones have just been short loops up to the Atom...

      @@walks4all that's great. Not done the 3 peaks for a couple of years. The descent for Whernside looks a lot better than how I remember it. Though it's my least favourite peak, the ascent seems to go on forever.

    • @walks4all
      @walks4all  ปีที่แล้ว

      They've been continually improving quite a few of the 3 peaks paths in the last few years - far better now than it used to be...but they need to I guess to cope with the footfall...
