    I bought this labeler after watching your video. Lot of features in this unit, and the black print on white is quite sharp. Excellent for my use. Thanks Nathan.

      Nice to hear! Glad you found the video helpful.
      Maybe I should get set-up with some associate links! haha.

    Thanks Nathan, very helpful 👍 I bought mine and couldn't open the tape area. Got sorted thanks to you.

    Interested in the tape. Could I stick this on eg a keyboard and remove easily later without leaving a sticky residue?

    BE ADVISED. I have one. As he points out, the plug for an AC power dongle is wired the opposite of almost every other electronic device on the market. The others have the positive voltage going to the pin and the negative to the surrounding shell. This reverses that. I'm not sure why Dymo did that unless it wanted to force people to buy from them. Other 9 volt power supplies may damage it. More likely they simply won't work.

    Only thing missing in this overview is how to clear the last print job without hitting the 'go back' key repeatedly.

    Guys there are glitter ones in pink blue and grey and I have the blue one and if it gets stuck first pull some of the tape out then do like 2 or 3 test drives then see if it’s good or not and if it’s too long cut it.

    Thanks for the video. You made it easier for me to get started as I always have the darnedest time figuring out how to open this and that....Aloha

    the black "ink" film comes out of my unit together with the label. weird.

    • @CThienV
      @CThienV 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For reference, this is a fault but easy to repair. The black tape needs to feed back into the cartridge and needs to be reattached to the smaller spool.

    Is it possible to adjust the length of the label that is coming out? For example if I want to have a label that has half of the label blank and the other half with text.

    Great review. I just bought one of these to label some cables and hardware devices. I am really unimpressed. 6x AAA is an odd choice. I also find the stickiness of labels really poor and peeling the label takes me 5x longer than making a label. I regret buying it.

      @NathanPH  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. I've never really had the issue you mention with labels, perhaps it is the brand/style/type of labels you are using? I find bending/peeling the edge or a corner over helps remove the backing from the tape.
      I don't use my unit on battery power either, I purchased a power supply for it and just plug into the mains when required now.
      Hope this helps!?

      @@NathanPH thanks for the reply. I have since discovered that you can peel it back as there is a mini line on the middle of the backing. I have used it quite a bit but not really a fan of this. Special characters like : or @ are time consuming to find in my experience.

    Are the non branded label refills as sticky as the official Dymo refills? Or is it worth spending the extra on the official dymo labels?

    • @NathanPH
      @NathanPH  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are just as sticky, Infact sometimes they stick even better!
      The price difference is quite big as well - especially when buying multiple units.
      Hope this helps,

      Nathan PH oooh fab. Was hoping you’d say that as the Dymo ones are pretty pricey and I have a LOT of labels to print! 😆

    Hi, if you use the 12mm tape, can the unit print 2 lines above each other or is it still single line just on wider tape?

    • @NathanPH
      @NathanPH  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi there, You certainly can! To do this you would type the text for the first line, then press the return key and type the text for the second line. This then prints the label on the two lines respectively.
      The official users manual states the following:
      "Only one line of text is allowed on 1/4” labels. Up to two lines of text are allowed on 3/8” and 1/2” labels."

      I don't believe so as it prints onto label cassettes.
