Warner Bros.- Discovery Abstract "Looney Tunes" logos!

  • This Warner Bros.- Discovery merger is just as I feared, turning out even worse than the Warner Bros.- Seven Arts merger from 55 years ago. And since this includes neglecting the Looney Tunes (i.e. purging all the 1951-2004 shorts off of HBO Max), I figured it was time to do another remake/parody of the 1960s "Abstract" Looney Tunes opening and closing sequence involving this merger!

    With Looney Tunes being removed from HBO Max, and Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs (1993) being removed from Hulu, I rightfully worry that the Tiny Toons Looniversity reboot and the Tiny Toon video game collection will both end up cancelled. Warner Bros. needs a new CEO that will give the company's classic cartoon characters the treatment they deserve, especially since they had a few great successes in the last few years with Looney Tunes Cartoons, Green Eggs and Ham (2019), and Animaniacs (2020).

    • @xRocketzFighterx
      @xRocketzFighterx ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Wait there was a tiny toon game collection confirmed for modern platforms?
      I'd buy that hot good shit in a heartbeat, those games are quality and aged well unlike most retro games.

      @@xRocketzFighterx Thus far, there's no official confirmation, but Stephen Frost, the head of Digital Eclipse has expressed interest in the project. It remains to be seen if Konami and/or WB games will allow him to proceed with it, and I think it would make great tie-in merchandise for the Looniversity reboot, but with David Zaslav in charge of Warner Bros., I feel it's unlikely to happen.

      Actually they recently stopped the restructuring,content write-off, and project cancellations recently and is focused on rebuilding,so I think Tiny Toons,Animaniacs,and Pinky and The Brain are still available to purchase on Itunes and WB would probably remaster them and give them a future Blu-ray release much like Duck Dodgers is getting the Blu-ray treatment. Also,they still have Bye Bye Bunny,The Day The World Blew Up:A Looney Tunes Movie, and the Tiny Toons Loonaversity series is still in production and being shopped to other streaming services. I think with the upcoming rebranding and merging of HBO Max and Discovery+ into Max in Spring 2023,they would probably put the LT shorts from 1951-2004 and the 2021 Tom and Jerry movie back on the service.

    What I heard recently,the management teams at WB Discovery stopped the restructuring,content write-off, and project cancellations for good and are now bringing the merger to a new era by rebuilding the company ,so I think Tiny Toons,Animaniacs,and Pinky and The Brain are still available to purchase on Itunes and WB would probably remaster them and give them a future Blu-ray release much like Duck Dodgers is getting the Blu-ray treatment. Also,they still have Bye Bye Bunny,The Day The World Blew Up:A Looney Tunes Movie, and the Tiny Toons Loonaversity series is still in production and the two former movies being shopped to other streaming services or probably put back on Max. Joke: This is one of the lost Looney Tunes title squence finds I've ever DISCOVERED but it was photoshoped like other HBO Max remasters.
    It does fit if limited animation works for today's title card like that.

    • @ZakWolf
      @ZakWolf  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, those remasters did minimal tampering to the "Abstract" logo sequences. During the intro they just freeze-frame the "PRESENTS" and LT/MM screens where there's no line animation, and they artificially zoom out the closing (it's less obvious due to the solid background, compared to the concentric circles on the 1936-1964 cartoons).

    You know? This is actually fitting.
    This WB logo used to terrify me as a kid (The W looked like a vampire’s fangs) and thus I always avoided it on TV. Not to mention it was often followed with some of the most questionable WB cartoons ever made.
    It perfectly describes the dark age that Warner Bros. entered due to the merger with Discovery.

    • @ZakWolf
      @ZakWolf  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can definitely see that. It didn't help the "Abstract WB" logo sequence was used on Rudy Larriva's Road Runner cartoons that could get pretty nightmarish, similar to Gene Deitch's "Tom and Jerry" shorts. It's gotten to the point where I often half-expect to hear the opening credits music for those cartoons after the 1962-67 opening arrangement of Bill Lava's version of "The Merry Go Round Broke Down!"
