This is great! You know Patrice respects Sacha because hes actually sitting there quiet and letting Borat do his thing. If he thought Borat was stupid he would have roasted him.
Borat was there to promote the movie, so it would have been rude to take the spotlight.

Hell yeah. My two favorite reaction channels.
I completely get why the Kazakh people didn't love him, but just one aspect of SBC's genius with Borat is that he perfectly encapsulated how rich countries think about the developing countries. Kazakhstan has its issues, but it's clearly not actually how Borat describes it. Yet none of us actually knew enough about Kazakhstan before Borat to refute it.

Borat character is very nice! Lol. This character cracks me up.
Everyone who wasn't Borat seemed to be vibing really weird, even Patrice is completely off. Sacha absolutely ran that show and was hilarious to the point where nobody knew how to handle it.

They know his schtick, so it's kinda hard work with. It doesn't really work with shock jockery, unless the audience doesn't know.
c'mon, it's clear as day that Patreeky liked Baron Cohen doing his thing and let him shine because he wasn't a regular guest. You better believe that if Patrice thought he was wack, he woulda roasted the fuck outta him.

I think Borat is more a statement on Americans and American behavior, more than trashing Kazakhstan. The trashing of Kazakhstan is almost the rhetorical Trojan horse from which the ultra trashing of some of the Americans who were kinda shitty towards Borat and others came. As not so complex a notion as that is, many folks do not know

While it was known that Borat's representation of Kazakhstan is gross caricature likely selected for the sound of the name. But SBS's portrayal of the character Borat is great because of how he becomes the character and never breaks character to laugh at something he's said or done. It's like he's similar to Rowen Atkinson who is able to joke and never laugh at his own comedy irrespective of how funny others find him. But his on the spot remarks also seem like he has in his mind, the lore of his characters world and a memory to fetch that info to always stay in character - a pretender. First found him from the Ali-G show, and loved every character. If this is improve, he's a goat at it.

There’s a guy named BoBo, now BoBo is, well… special 😅 and he’s very easily influenced. Comedian and host Jim Norton knows a great way to exploit this aspect of BoBo’s personality. You see when Jim describes sexy ladies to BoBo, lil BoBo (bobo’s member) wakes up 🍆 then when Jimmy changes the topic to baseball, lil BoBo gets bored and falls asleep. Now, Patrice didn’t know this before the show and was shown this game live in studio. And boy, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone laugh so hard 🤣 he almost explodes. You guys should definitely take a look at that clip.

After this they mention how they wanted to try to get him to go out of character, but he was just too fun.

you guys missed the point here. Sasha isn't making fun of or roasting Kazakhstan here. he's deliberately making himself a joke to expose the ignorance and stupidity of people he interacts with, here in this case its the USA, that is the concept of his show and movie too.
You think this show doesn't know who he is? I think you missed it. He does that schtick in his movies and half of that is fake. This is basically a promo for him and they get a big name guest. It's a set up for him to make jokes. Cohen has since become a joke himself.
I just don't think Borat is that funny I didn't like him in that dumb Madonna video the one she claims to have discovered him in. But God forbid you don't think he is funny.
You really need to stop reaching for your drink bottle. It's quite distracting and I promise you won't die of thirst.
