Tranana na re na re tranana na re na
    Mor haai haai

    Kona dore kona dore baandhobo
    Lalo komolo phool dhire gomokae

    Meaning:
Who has tied up your hair in this untidy bun? X2
Who has cast an evil eye on you? X2
    Oh Vrindavan,
    Oh dear,
Who has cast an evil eye on you?
    Oh Vrindavan, you mesmerize.
I have planted some paddy in my little field X2
But the wild birds eat them, killing them all,
    Oh brother, chase them away,
With this beautiful charm strung around your neck X2
Tranana na re na re tranana na re na
    Oh my my,
    Oh brother, chase them away,
With this beautiful charm strung around your neck X2
With what string do I tie this yellow wildflower around your neck? X2
Which string, which string do I tie it with?
The red lotus starts to shine slowly,
With a silver chain I want to tie the yellow wildflowers to your neck X2
Which string, which string do I tie it with?

Papon gets more respect from me because he tries to bring Assamese traditional and folk songs to national stage. Arijit, Kumar Shanu, Abhijeet, none did this. They come/came to bengal to sing bengali songs, but that's it.

    • @shrgti
      @shrgti 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

Priyabrata Halder sooo true, from the very early era, there is a lot of Bengal intelligence came to mainstream Hindi music industry! But almost everyone struggled and still trying to adopt Hindi/Punjabi popular genre of music....No significant Bengal touch in their long journey... what a loss...

This is the folk song of Assam tea tribes, but during British rule these community people are hired by British from Jharkhand to placement them in tea gardens...
From that period these people form a special tea tribe community of Assam, where they form their mix culture along with Assamese culture...
Sometimes visit to Assam n it's tea gardens u will find these lovely community of people n their culture ❤️❤️❤️
