My favorite part of all of this is the D-Class that was allowed to keep the pirate hat. A surprisingly wholesome decision by the Foundation. I hope he wore it into all future tests after that.

I always love and enjoy the small moments when a D class requests something like that and the foundation accepts it. My favorite is "requested: a hug." "Request: approved" I know that wasn't a D class, it was the the unwilling dimension hopper but still ended up being a definite favorite of mine.

I think my favourite Food SCP, or I guess Plant related SCP that is technically a food item is SCP-504: Critical Tomatoes. Basically, if you tell them a really bad joke, they will fly towards the target who said the joke. The worse the joke, the faster they go. And yes, they are able to kill people.

These cookies are currently under investigation for the spontaneous effect of tasting exactly like the cookies the individual partaking in them’s Grandmother (specifically on their mothers side) and then transporting the individual to the first space and time they imbibed a cookie that matches SCP 6648
Current D-Class testing must come with a full family history work and psychological testing as no individuals who enjoyed the cookies have returned from the supposed time period they have been sent.
Current test parameters on D-Vlass with a background of adoption underway.

The bread SCP just sounds like a giant shit post. Combining a bunch of memes and obscure references. The Wonder bread cult seams like a overt reference to the deviant art wonder bread guy. And I remember random pictures of bread stapled to trees being all over the web a few years back.

SCP is rife with pop culture and media references. The ones that are actually "giant shit posts" are some of the funniest and most well written articles. Perfect example: SCP-4390: "A Bad Maze". I will leave you to bow before the amazement that is DOMINICAN JOE.

The coffee machine is one of the first SCPs I ever read, what a nostalgia trip
Incidentally, I always thought to myself that I'd just ask it for a cup of the best hot cocoa it could make every day. Whether it became somehow dangerous to drink would be at the machine's discretion I guess.
It would make it constantly boiling, because the best Hot Cocoa would be hot.

Idk why, but I love that initial part where he just kinda implies that, there might be non-humans watching the video, where they dont have a concept of food, and state that the video might be confusing for those individuals. Its those tiny touches that are so fun!
Ya know I think horror related to food is rather effective. You don’t have to look to hard on TH-cam for people eating disturbing amounts of food, and the fears of food poisoning and contamination plague people’s minds constantly. It seems like every aspect of life has a horrific side, something scp’s are always good at exploiting
That is more shockingly true than you might be thinking. Food actually CAN be dangerous under the right circumstances and/or scenario
For anybody who likes food-based horror, Thinner is a really great book. If you want something nonfiction, The Indifferent Stars Above is another really great, really terrifying book. It's a look at what actually happened to the Donner Party and hoo boy is it a doozy.

Another interesting test from the first one is when they ask it for the spinal fluid of some supposedly long extinct animal (one of the big sea monster types if I recall correctly) and it just spits it out for them. They end up supposing that it isn't quite as extinct as they had imagined...
On that note, can’t they use this to remotely harvest 3000’s amnesties fluid?
Or the machine exists outside of time and can grab fluids from any point in time

@@jaegerolfa Well they did try to get the blood of Thomas Jefferson and a passenger pigeon but those didn't work. Passenger pigeons being extinct and Jefferson being...well also technically extinct in this timeline.

I always like the smaller scps
like yeah these huge epic arcs are cool stories, but I feel like that does well in other contexts, scps can be "here's a strange/horiffic little thing, huh? better contain that shit" and it works
often the mark of a good scp is one that maintains intrigue without relying on some cosmic-scale apocalypse. smaller anomalies were what got me into scp in the first place and what keep me interested today

Fun fact, you can in fact super heat water in a microwave and have it explode. If the water doesn't have a nucleation point to create bubbles, it'll stay completely still until a point where the bubbles can be created.

Concerning that extended log of SCP-261, probably my favorite entry from it is a tiny miniature of SCP-682 that pulled out a cane before singing and dancing to barbershop music like Michigan J Frog

My favourite food vended from 261 was “american air”, which was literally just a star spangled can with normal, unanomalous air in it.
A label on the side read “Real americans don’t breathe the same air that communists do.” The flag on the can was also missing several of its stars.
"You are aware of what food is. If not this video will be confusing...." Dude, they can be confusing when they are about simple things. It could be about a bag of flour and I could get confused sometimes.
The one food scp that always stood out for me, ESPECIALLY since it was one of the earliest ones I learned about, was SCP-871, which are 237 instances of cake that respawn when eaten, and which each instance will spawn another anomalous cake near itself if not eaten by a human within 24 hours. This scip is quite an interesting mixture of both ridiculous and horrifying. The ridiculous aspect should be obvious, but the terrifying part is that a single instance, if left unchecked, will make the earth uninhabitable within 80 days. Now, what if, for some reason, one of these instances ended up in a place where it couldn't be retrieved?
Imagine scp foundation chose to send it to space and growing biger to the point its become planet and finaly big enough to collapse in it own gravity and become black hole
Also just remembered another early scip I learned about early on: the chocolate fountain that spawns voracious insects (scp-743)

That reminds me of an SCP that’s similar in concept. It’s not a food, but an alarm clock that increases in loudness every 3 minutes if the snooze button is not hit. It would only take the alarm clock something like 86 hours to destroy the entire earth with sound waves

I still don't understand how no foundation has thought about building a door to the bag of potatoes and throw every mostly bad partially physical, mostly contained in a cage type anomalies into the bag.
It would make containment so much cheaper. And you can cut a small hole and get still extra anomalous potatoes.

I was introduced to the SCP universe with the Bag of Potatoes, do I have that crazy creation to thank for being the gateway into a ridiculous number of amazing and weird and terrifying stories. And a huge thank you to you and Volgun for sharing these stories in your own unique ways! :)

The bag of holding potatoes is unironically some of my favorite SCPs.
Firstly I like how well it fits in thematically. It’s something that isn’t inherently dangerous. It is however inexplicable and has sinister undertones. A great piece of world building.
I also think the log is fun. It’s not some hapless d-class or members of the mole rats get fucked up for our viewing pleasure. It’s a more mundane human drama with some fun characters.
In short, it follows standard scp format in a not so standard way.
Please consider covering 6600. It's really good, "SCP 6000 winner" level good.
The potato one seems to be just a similar scp to the infinite cake, just that it was able to grow exponentially unlike the cake

Liquid carbon is a head-scratcher, but liquid diamond is by definition impossible. If you melted a diamond, it wouldn't be made of diamond anymore, just as if you melt ice, it isn't ice anymore.
