almost an hour trying to understand the tabs just to find out that the song breaks rhythm when going to the second verse.
that 1 -> 0 seem so off that i can barely fit it into the song

Hmm, you shouldn't break the rhythm anywhere. Listen to the demo and count "one-two-three-one-two-three..." throughout.
