17:52 Rakna-Kadaki is pretty much guaranteed to be female. Its Japanese name in kanji is 妃蜘蛛 (kisaki-gumo), "Empress Spider". Plus, spiders are known for females usually being much larger than the males.

It is not often when you find that different youtubers who make the same type of content actually get along with each other rather than competing against each other. This is absolutely incredible and I love seeing this type of thing
The Switch Axe is most definitely the Almudron gear. Just like Arekkz said the colors fit perfectly and also he would be the only Monster that wouldn't have its armor shown in the trailer.
Also the website explains that Almudron secretes yellow liquid from it's tail, that softens the ground to trap it's prey. The gear have those glowing, yellow "Tron" lines and lights in them.
I really think the Switch Axe is Almudron. We've seen literally every other Monster's Armour Set (stuff like Barioth, Tigrex, Wroggi, Rajang etc. are shown in the background of trailers). The only Monster with no shown armour set is Almudron, and the only armour set with no associated Monster is the Switch Axe set. I think it's not that big of a jump to connect the two. The biggest connection: they are the same element, with Almudron being Mud, and the Switch Axe (in the preview video) being Water. Also they have the same colour scheme.
We've actually seen a lot more than 2 AI in the Rampage Cutscene. If you look at the 4-player clips, all the Artillery Stations are empty. But in the 1-player clips, there's NPCs manning those stations. We also have Minoto and Hinoa, and then Iori and Yomogi for that cutscene. It's definitely premature to declare exactly how many NPCs will be present.

I think the key to getting into MH on your first pass is having people who enjoy the series already helping you get into the series. Starting with 3U I loved the game out of the gate even though it didn't click for me until 4u, but I had friends who were really into it and helped me through the game that kept me from bouncing off of it too soon.
Once again you restored my faith in humanity! Rurikhan, thank you so much for making this happen! I did not think I could get more hyped for the Third Fleet Podcast, and now you casually throw Arekkz in the mix. 5 more podcasts to go and MH Rise is there for all the enjoy. I know it's not possible, but I do hope this Podcasts never dies..
The tron armor is from Almudron. The color and shapes matches. "But what about the yellow parts?" you might ask. Well on the websites, it says that Almudron has a strange golden liquid to control mud, the yellow part is from that.
I wish that dire miralis has a modern adaptation since I’ve never fought him. Imagine using the wirebugs to avoid his meteors and trying to climb up to reach his head.
They said they won't because he's a very Tri Monster. He was designed for Under Water, and they'd hate to ever change that fight to remove the Under-Water combat.

@@greenhillmario It's not coming back. The point of Under Water combat was to fight in 360 degrees. But the Devs were unsatisfied with how that turned out. The idea of MH4 was to introduce Verticality in a better way: hence the Mounting System and Insect Glaive. With Rise we see the Wire-bug and the focus of Verticality. We also see that 4th and 5th gen had a focus on mounting. The Devs love 360 degree combat but stated that they don't plan to revisit Underwater combat.
Funny enough, I remember Sandy Plains specifically for two things. That one barren like area which they showed, on the video, where the small monsters swimming in the sand. The other, is the oasis water part. But it was more like a mudded lake. Tri introduced Barroth, in that map. However, Rise seems to have really done a major overhaul on that map. It seems like much of it would seem to be a reimagining. Area 9? converted from Tri's map seems to be the one that remained as close to the original for me to recognize. The other parts had me say, "This is from Sandy Plains?" Funny enough, I am the same as the three of you. My first Monster Hunter I played was Freedom 1. And I didn't really get into it. However, it was Freedom 2 which where I finally clicked with it. It was the Khezu fight that finally got me to the place, trying to down it with Dual Blades. I could have given up, but this time I really pushed and pushed. Learned every aspect of the Khezu fight (since you have to be close with that weapon) and I learned so many systems before actually beating it. Getting over that hurdle was my awakening moment.
hmm. now im curious about how apex monsters will be fought. Almudron specifically seems like he needs a very big open space to really do his moves so will the arena change when the apex appears because from what we have seen, the rampage map seems very cramped.

Now that I've watched the podcast, I must say I'm glad it exists. Well done. Before I go, I want to explain why so many of us hunters dislike the Arena. First off, it removes almost everything we enjoy about the series. Namely it stripps your agency. You can't choose your armor, items, the precise weapons.... Anything you've earned from playing can't be used. That's not why we who dislike the Arena play for. (This is actually one of the main reasons I hate the Fatails fight. That stupid 30 minute limit force you to play a certain way with all the DPS skills. There's no agency here) P.S. *Thank you* Gaijin for cleaning up the Apex thing. Me believing it was the MH4U Apex system coming back almost killed my hype. That and Relics from MH4U killed the game for me. Now I'm really excited for MH Rise:-)
Thanks for reminding me I have yet do to an Iceborne arena quest. For Fatalis, the 30 min timer is less of an issue once you use his armor and weapons I guess (I have yet to try), but I agree you are in a rush before. Less bad than MR Kulve Taroth invisible DPS Checks (at least, you are told with Fatalis and you know if you are going to fail before it happens). Her quest should be named "The Eternal DPS Rush".
This has prob already been said countless times but I'd love to have Arekkz as a regular. The 3 of you make such an engaging dynamic with these discussions. Also if you are looking to get more guest on can I give a shout out for Herny? He's hilarious and super chill.
It's kinda cool how hard they're shoving leviathan type monsters into the game by literally flooding every map with water and bringing back 3rd gen areas where the leviathan types were introduced. It's like they're trying really hard to make up for world's lack of water monsters.
Definitely, I fully expect the Lagiacrus reveal to be during the release trailer for Rise, either that or it’ll be a nice surprise when we all get to finally get our hands on the game.
Yeah, looking at the roster of elements in worldborne, it's kind of staggering how big a hole water monsters leave. I really am a huge fan of their decision to flood everything and even bring back the flooded forest, just to add more leviathans- I really hope lagiacruz can come back, even if he ends up needing some redesigning. Also agnaktor- water is no issue, but we need a full return of leviathans after being MIA in worldborne.

Just realised the SA in the demo is an alt of the new spider monster's armour. The eyes are a huge give away. In older games some monsters had two versions of a set and some where hugely different to each other. I'd love to be proven wrong, but it really looks like the Kodaki.
Arekkz is Kratos if he was a god of joy and smiles. the podcast has been nothing short of amazing, but the chemistry between the 3 of you is brilliant. please do another with Arekkz , sometime!
About the Sandy plains, the original did have some small ruins as background details in a couple of areas, but it was subtle enough to not really add anything to it.
Hear me out. And I might put this on a video for that crazy new trailer. What if the rampage quests' rewards are like monster ornaments (much like Utsushi has on him, like kneepads/gauntlet/mask) so instead of full armor sets, "Alpha" monsters give you little pieces of armor to put on top of your set, giving you certain bonuses maybe more aligned with endemic life or gives you buffs that can't be given by normal decos or armor sets.
@@jeslan9773 It'a a great idea in terms of cosmetics but from what we have seen in Iceborne i just don't want them to give even more skills than we already have.
@@mhk6943 yeah I thought that too so probably just a whole other type of skills more like "bonuses" to maybe help you with traversal like wall running and wirebug stuff. There could be other things as well. But yes, no armor skills on it definitely..
Freedom 2 was also my first MH. And I definitely remember Tigrex being a big wall. I was able to finally get him with Eager Cleaver IIRC. From then I played long sword for the longest time.
The thing I liked about kulve tartoth/safi is that it allowed me to experiment with weapon types. I didnt want to farm 4 different monsters on 3 different difficulties to make one weapon. maybe the weapons you got from them weren't all best in slot but they were decent and saved me alot of time. let me realize I like insect glaive and switch axe.
@@trublood6410 Attack Boost 1x gives you +3 True Attack. Divine Blessing 1x gives you a small chance to reduce damage taken by 12%. These are small boosts. The Attack Charm can be grinded from Low Rank Kirin, the Protection Charm can be grinded from Low Rank Paolumu. It's not hard to get, and they're Low Rank. This Charm just helped players out slightly in Low Rank. It's not "the best stuff", it just made Low Rank not grindy so that you can focus on High Rank. Stop being such an elitist about something as small as a charm.
For layered weapons and the like I think they could do some great stuff like brining back the gormet set as layered. (Also, I do really hope some form of transmog is present, just so if I like a weapon appearance I can keep it around).

When Ruri said Arekkz was part of the second fleets because he start MH from 2nd generation. I got a vibe - Arekkz actually looks like the Second Fleet Master without eye-patch.
I hope the NPCs in Rampage are similar to rastas in Frontier. Even being like Aiden in Iceborne would be awesome because of how smart his ai was. Being able to upgrade their gear would be nice.
I imagine the 2nd and 3rd level of the skills means that while in the air, lv2 will recharge your wirebugs faster if not in combat and lv3 gives the recharge increase while on the ground and not in combat. they said no wirebug skills during combat and them adding "passive" means that they are pretty much still following that principle they put out

Now that I've watched the podcast, I must say I'm glad it exists. Well done.
Before I go, I want to explain why so many of us hunters dislike the Arena.
First off, it removes almost everything we enjoy about the series. Namely it stripps your agency.
You can't choose your armor, items, the precise weapons.... Anything you've earned from playing can't be used. That's not why we who dislike the Arena play for. (This is actually one of the main reasons I hate the Fatails fight. That stupid 30 minute limit force you to play a certain way with all the DPS skills. There's no agency here)
P.S. *Thank you* Gaijin for cleaning up the Apex thing. Me believing it was the MH4U Apex system coming back almost killed my hype. That and Relics from MH4U killed the game for me. Now I'm really excited for MH Rise:-)
Thanks for reminding me I have yet do to an Iceborne arena quest. For Fatalis, the 30 min timer is less of an issue once you use his armor and weapons I guess (I have yet to try), but I agree you are in a rush before. Less bad than MR Kulve Taroth invisible DPS Checks (at least, you are told with Fatalis and you know if you are going to fail before it happens). Her quest should be named "The Eternal DPS Rush".

It's kinda cool how hard they're shoving leviathan type monsters into the game by literally flooding every map with water and bringing back 3rd gen areas where the leviathan types were introduced. It's like they're trying really hard to make up for world's lack of water monsters.
Definitely, I fully expect the Lagiacrus reveal to be during the release trailer for Rise, either that or it’ll be a nice surprise when we all get to finally get our hands on the game.
Yeah, looking at the roster of elements in worldborne, it's kind of staggering how big a hole water monsters leave. I really am a huge fan of their decision to flood everything and even bring back the flooded forest, just to add more leviathans- I really hope lagiacruz can come back, even if he ends up needing some redesigning.
Also agnaktor- water is no issue, but we need a full return of leviathans after being MIA in worldborne.

Just realised the SA in the demo is an alt of the new spider monster's armour. The eyes are a huge give away. In older games some monsters had two versions of a set and some where hugely different to each other. I'd love to be proven wrong, but it really looks like the Kodaki.

About the Sandy plains, the original did have some small ruins as background details in a couple of areas, but it was subtle enough to not really add anything to it.

Hear me out. And I might put this on a video for that crazy new trailer. What if the rampage quests' rewards are like monster ornaments (much like Utsushi has on him, like kneepads/gauntlet/mask) so instead of full armor sets, "Alpha" monsters give you little pieces of armor to put on top of your set, giving you certain bonuses maybe more aligned with endemic life or gives you buffs that can't be given by normal decos or armor sets.
Or it could be purely cosmetic, either way it would be pretty cool..
@@jeslan9773 It'a a great idea in terms of cosmetics but from what we have seen in Iceborne i just don't want them to give even more skills than we already have.
@@mhk6943 yeah I thought that too so probably just a whole other type of skills more like "bonuses" to maybe help you with traversal like wall running and wirebug stuff. There could be other things as well. But yes, no armor skills on it definitely..

Freedom 2 was also my first MH. And I definitely remember Tigrex being a big wall. I was able to finally get him with Eager Cleaver IIRC. From then I played long sword for the longest time.
The thing I liked about kulve tartoth/safi is that it allowed me to experiment with weapon types. I didnt want to farm 4 different monsters on 3 different difficulties to make one weapon. maybe the weapons you got from them weren't all best in slot but they were decent and saved me alot of time. let me realize I like insect glaive and switch axe.
The Preorder bonus for World was the 'Fair Wind Charm'. It had Attack 1x and Divine Blessing 1x, very nice for early-game.
For casuals who want best stuff straight away 🙄
@@trublood6410 Attack Boost 1x gives you +3 True Attack. Divine Blessing 1x gives you a small chance to reduce damage taken by 12%. These are small boosts.
The Attack Charm can be grinded from Low Rank Kirin, the Protection Charm can be grinded from Low Rank Paolumu. It's not hard to get, and they're Low Rank.
This Charm just helped players out slightly in Low Rank. It's not "the best stuff", it just made Low Rank not grindy so that you can focus on High Rank. Stop being such an elitist about something as small as a charm.

For layered weapons and the like I think they could do some great stuff like brining back the gormet set as layered.

When Ruri said Arekkz was part of the second fleets because he start MH from 2nd generation. I got a vibe - Arekkz actually looks like the Second Fleet Master without eye-patch.

I hope the NPCs in Rampage are similar to rastas in Frontier. Even being like Aiden in Iceborne would be awesome because of how smart his ai was. Being able to upgrade their gear would be nice.
I imagine the 2nd and 3rd level of the skills means that while in the air, lv2 will recharge your wirebugs faster if not in combat and lv3 gives the recharge increase while on the ground and not in combat. they said no wirebug skills during combat and them adding "passive" means that they are pretty much still following that principle they put out
