This was their 3rd album and I think it would have been perfectly appropriate if the band had started to market itself at that time as *"YES: Featuring Chris Squire."* YES really was Chris' band through and through. You can tell that his other band mates understood how wise it was for them to build The YES Sound around his Industrial-Melodic bass inspirations. While the band he & Jon created were always populated with outstanding musicians who deserved praise for their contributions, YES just wouldn't have had that special place in my heart if not for Chris' bass lines driving them throughout. If you really want to be blown away by Chris & Bill Bruford at their peak, you need to listen to YES' cover of Simon & Garfunkle's *America.* They had been playing it in concerts as a jam before finally recording it around the time between The Yes Album and Fragile. It didn't appear on any of their studio albums, but was released as a long-play single & showed up later on I think their first compilation album (Yesterdays?). I believe it was the last cover of another artist that they recorded. All Chris Squire fans absolutely love it. I rate it definitely in their top 8 overall...

Have you see; when Alex and Geddy indicated Yes into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame , Geddy talks about how the Bass player from Yes was a huge influence on him and which songs , Also Geddy got to play Roundabout with Yes at the show ,It is all on TH-cam
I *love* the fact that you appreciate and love Yes. You may be too young to know this, but the Punk movement happened as a reaction to prog and other pretentious overblown music. Too complicated. Too hard to understand. Played by dinosaurs. I think we both agree both styles are great.
