Genshin Impact, but it's a Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge... What could go wrong?
Today we finish off Zhongli's Archon quest, and go to take on Childe's boss fight. We also do a bit of wishing, and attempt to progress further in the Spiral Abyss.
We did a nuzlocke challenge before, but this one is a bit different.
Our goal is simple: Clear Floor 8 of the Spiral Abyss (ideally with 3 stars in each chamber).
As for the rules?
- Only using 3-star weapons or lower
- Only using starting characters (Lumine, Amber, Lisa, Kaeya, Noelle, Xiangling, Collei, & Barbara)
- If a character dies at any point, we cannot use them ever again
- Food is BANNED
- No teleporting out of combat. If we need to run away, we can. But we cannot use teleporters to escape, and we cannot leave domains without clearing them.
- Only pulling on Weapon Banner
- Any characters or constellations obtained from the Weapon Banner are NOT to be used.

@@_starlinx Noelle still heals at C0 - C1 makes it more consistent during her burst (takes it from a 50% chance to a 100% iirc)

back when the boss first (childe)released my uncle was like " WHY DOES HIS HEALTH KEEP GETTING RESTORED" but he had a very 1.0-y team like jean diluc xiangling and venti

Isn't Childe a pushover in general when it comes to his bossfight? His first phase, while requiring much movement or a shield, doesn't have much HP. His second stage is probably the hardest, but it isn't very tanky either. And his thrid phase? It's easily the most braindead one to beat. His attacks are slow and very reactable, and while the Hydro and Electro RES are annoying, they aren't that notable.

Hate to comment twice but the reason why the Jade Chamber turns into a nuke, afaik, is explained in the quest with shenhe. that one huge shiny rock she lifts up is the reason everything goes kaboom? same as how the fuel for our cars is also pretty dangerous in the wrong/right circumstances

Honestly he really has male catalyst energy, plus he’s dendro so hopefully he’d add a new role we don’t have yet like maybe a dendro healer
I probably won’t get him because I tend to pull for girl characters but I really hope his kit involves his snake because that would be super fun

@@froggy5748 changsheng would be a cool kit addition, thats true! i personally am against a healer since most of my mains are healers or supports and id like a meta dps but catalyst dendro healer is a valuable slot rn and so i wouldnt be too upset. either way, c0r1 will be had, if not more
@@crematedfelony I also have the issue of all my mains being supports or healers, kokomi is still my main dps even though I’ve had her since release lol. Kuki and Layla are also my favorite physical dps even though they’re both supports

btw in shenhe quest you have to collect a few special stones that make the jade chamber float those are what made the jade chamber explode like it did

I do recommend to go the Chasm, as the drop rates for White Tassels there are actually higher than main Liyue.
Also, I think Noelle + Geo MC + Xiangling + Kaeya and Lisa + Barbara + Collei + Amber would be good teams to consider.
I actually think building ATK on Noelle may be better for now, as she benefits less from DEF when her burst is lower than lvl 9 or if she's not c6. However, DEF will still provide good survivability. She can be your main carry on this team, while also providing shielding and healing.
Geo MC can provide personal damage and battery your Noelle.
Kaeya is a good sub-dps, and Xiangling can do off-field damage (but she will have high energy recharge requirements).
The other team, I think building EM+ER on Lisa, HP & Healing Bonus on Barbara, ER + dendro dmg bonus + crit on Collei, and a generic support set on Amber (like 4pc exile or instructor, for either energy generation or em buffing) would be a good option.
Teams kinda difficult to set up, but could definitely work.

wow you really thought about that. I have a question for you. So im making a abyss team for floor 11 chamber 3 to fight the dendro cube and im think of using the team
childe (level 80, meh build, talents 2, 7, 4),
xingqiu ( level 90, 100% built, c6, talents 9, 13, 13),
traveler (dendro, level 81, mostly built, talents 1, 5, 6)
zhongli ( level 80, mostly built (can do hp or burst), talents 1, 8, 8.)
Should I use this team?
@@eulalord9617 Not the team I'd choose. It is immune to dendro damage, so blooms will be nigh worthless. That leaves the hydro damage, and your Childe is meh. Zhongli is pretty crappy DPS, though he does offer his resist debuff. However, with your Childe being meh, well, buffing a small amount of damage a little still results in a small amount of damage.
If it were me, I'd go Aggravate, if you have any electro DPS built. You can team that up with your Xingqiu, since that'll electro-charge. It'll also save you a little time once you get the cube down, since you'll be able to E with Traveler, then swap to the electro to charge up the thingy, then rush to the next one and use Traveler's burst, and ideally, electro it up, before heading to the last one for another Traveler E.
But if you don't have a well built electro, then I'm guessing you do have a well built pyro (because Xingqiu). Just use that. Do keep in mind that you don't want to hit the post-cube-defeat thingies with pyro, as that shuts them off. If you're using Xiangling as your pyro, that could cause an issue if her burst is active. You can get around that with using Collei instead of Traveler, though, since she can charge shot the things from a distance, and she won't be used other than during that phase. I'm also assuming you already have the first two chambers three starred, so it won't matter if those take longer due to essentially having a three man team.
@@Axterix13 My built characters that i can use are eula, bennett, xingqiu, travler, childe, zhongli, yoimya (well not really), fishel, and sucrose.
My other team is ayaka venti diona mona.

Polar star is actually one of the best weapons for DPS Collei
Can't he just use it on Amber since she's a better dps technically as collei is an enabler
@@christyobrien7680 He can't use it on either. He has set himself the restriction of 3-star and lower weapons only. He's doing this to negate the more RNG aspects, but doesn't even allow himself the "guaranteed" four stars. That being the various store sold and tree-given billets, nor the couple of (non-event) four star weapons you can get by playing the game.

as a person who failed to get nahida but got to 67 pity and saw childe came out, i caved. childe is now here.
At first this series seems simple enough, but imagine if you lost someone like the travelller. All of a sudden, any anemo puzzles are impossible to comeplete, meaning that this game becomes much more stressful
Jade Chamber is flying on plasturite, which us basically a magical rock keeping it in the sky. I am sure it's magic can fuck shit up
I think the hardest part of the game is almost here for you, which is AR 35-ish to AR45 (when you get good artifacts)
I remember on all my accounts that was the worst part because I was super weak and all the enemies were way too strong lol
I think it is worth noting that this is partially because most of us try to be "efficient", long term. So we didn't really collect or build the four star artifacts. And probably held off on the domains until we got the AR 45 ones, since those guarantee a 5 star drop. If we played more as intended, with getting and raising the four star artifacts, and not flinging under-geared characters into the AR 45 domains, it would probably be much easier. We didn't really have a need to do that, since there were no real consequences to making it harder on ourselves.
But this being a nuzlocke... well, probably better to play it safe and gear up with worse artifacts, especially since this account doesn't have a long term future (unless Java decides to transition it to a "roll on weapon and standard banner only" account, after completing (or failing to complete) his goal.

If you ever wanted for some reason to create yet another account, may I suggest you: The all mighty C0 challange!
So, as you've propably guess, you can play every single character you want...as long as you dont have any constellations to them. And once you get one, you have to activate it and from now on stop playing one of your characters, forever (with of course exception of traveller, becouse you get his constellations from quests etc.). I would absolutly love to see you trying to get an limited 5 star or even a new 4 star from a banner, while also trying to dodge other characters that you already have. I think that could be the first challange where wishing can accualy want wrong, not by losing a 50/50, but by permanently losing one of your characters. Sounds fun huh
It’s sounds like a good idea but this would suck for any 4 star. Since drops rates on the banner are increased when he try’s wishing for any five star he would most likely end up not being able to use any of the banner four stars and that just doesn’t sound enjoyable.
maybe for 4 stars on limited banners, they could be used normally or they could be used with no artifacts/3 star or lower artifacts and with a one star weapon ?? but once the banner ends he cant use them until they appear in another banner
@@Madison_Goalie26 Thats the whole point. On every account Java has, wishing is either an restricted but still pretty much good thing (like swords only, catalysts only) or complelty useless (like here in nuzelock). My challenge would be the first one, where whishing could not only went unlucky, but where it could ruined the inwestment characters, so Java would have do be really carefull about it.
In my opinion this would be super erertaining. Normalny audience watch genshing wishing content to see if someone won, or lost their 50/50. But here we would watch to see not only if Java got what he wanted, but also if he didnt permanently lost one of his characters, we aleeady got used to. That would also mean that he couldnt just build a couple of characters, and stay with them, becouse he could lose them at any time, so every couple of episodes, we would propably watch his team slightly changing.
I also thing that its certainly an doable challenge, Java would just be more carefull about wishing then on his other accounts. He couldnt just save or buy primos, and then go strait up to spending them. He would need think first about 4 stars on the banner. For example, if he would want to get Yelan, but her banner would have like Bennet, Xiangling an Xingqiu, he would need to consider if its worth to gamble an possibility to loose one of these to get her, or if its better to skip it, and hopes that the next banner would have worst characters on it.
He would propably also prevent himself from ever wishing on standard banner just to be safe from getting Lisa/Kaeya/Amber constelations.
But its not like he could just not wish at all, becouse he would propably still want to get new characters. And every attempt to get someone new, is also a possibility to lose someone he had.
Every genshin content on youtube rn, is just about having a lots of prioms and then spending them. This on the another hand would be I thing the first series, where wishing would be more about strategy and counting then just amount of wishes you've got, so that would be super uniqe, and just overall fun to watch.

I think you should be able to use at least f2p four star weapons, like craftables or fishing weapons. or maybe weapons can be an exception!

I just want to say regarding pulls that in Pokemon for instance, you are allowed to catch a pokemon only once per route, so maybe if the challenge proves to be hard in the future you can do something like, allowing 10 pulls per unlocked statue of the seven, or something like this, and get to use other characters

No, that doesn't. That's considered being "lucky enough to play while the event was active", and therefore, not allowed.
hello! I usually don't comment on videos but I just wanted to let you know in your description in the rules for this series, collei is not mentioned in the starting characters which could have brought confusion to some ppl! D:
On my alt I got to sumeru by going over the high cliffs north of the chasm and jumping into a Vidya forest

I hope Java sees this, the white Tassel is only obtainable in chasm and rarely you can get it around it but yea in chasm its like every 5th chest
It is available anywhere in Liyue. I've had a copy max refined since, well, forever, long before the Chasm was playable. It is however, RNG determined, and you need bigger chests to have a higher chance of getting three star weapons from them. Many of those bigger chests are gated a bit by AR, so that's why he hasn't seen gotten his to R5 yet.

Well, special elemental rocks are used to make it float so that might be part of its explosive property.

9:05 Technically a rock of that size thrown from the orbit may actually cause an explosion like that. The only issue it wasn't THAT high.
On the other hand, let's not forget it was floating thanks to a some special kind of a rock and I guess it should generate quite a bit of energy to be able to cancel gravity for something that big and heavy. So, perhaps damaging it may free that energy up and cause an explosion of such proportion.
I think it should be fine to use craftable 4 star weapons
