What a refreshing change to find a TH-cam channel that does exactly what it says on the tin! Succinct and to the point, without timewasting intro, ads and general time wasting waffle! Congratulations, please keep up the good work for us Drone videographers!
I recently noticed that videos made like this are becoming more common again. Tutorials are really just what they tell you they are and you get exactly what you ask for. Like you used to 10 years ago also. These times are aperently coming back.
Question. Why wouldnt a high quality usb c to usb c cable work? Going from usb c to hdmi and then from hdmi to usb c with a different adapter seems a little moot. If the manufacturers have it designed like that one needs to ask the question why…
I just purchased the DJI Mini Pro 4 and had no idea this was possible until I saw an FPV drone pilot hand off to his client an iPad so she could watch him fly his drone through a very nice commercial property to get the necessary shots. And then during an online survey on the TouchScreen controller, I saw this question asked. I found your video on the DJI forum when I did a Google search asking this question. Thank you for providing the details on how to do this and the equipment that works with it.
Very important bit: first connect the cables, thén turn the remote on. If you have the controller already running it won't start running the hdmi signal to your tv / monitor / iPad. Cheers
Just bought the same two cables and works perfect. Couple of things to remember is the order of connecting cables and turning on the devices. Also found the Capurino app to work well also.
Great job. I just got an Air 3 with the RC 2. I also have an iPad mini with usb c. This looks like a great option. Thanks for this. You got a new subscriber.
I really appreciate the info you shared !! I do Really wish you had shown a more 360 of how you had everything rigged to the mount ... we saw the controller, and the ipad ... we all know what that looks like, you should show off your mounting rig
Hi! I have managed to put the same rig together and it works as shown on the video. I do have a question can a power input be used through a USBC hub of some kind? Which would supply power to both the controller and tablet.
Nice find thanks ! I was disappointed that my mini 4 pro won’t work with my rc pro as I have hdmi on it and could also have a wireless link to a tablet but this has just put a little smile on my face ! Thanks
This works with both Type C to Type C display and Type C to HDMI , I plugged a Type C to Type C into the RC 2 and to my monitor and it works , the same worked when I plugged a Type C to HDMI out , that worked too
Yeah its pretty cool, as long as you have that controller, you can connect to ANY extremal monitor, I connect mine Via USB C to an external portable monitor that also has usb C and it works great! :)
I have just purchased the latest UGREEN all-in-one connector that also has a 100w max usb-c power input in the video capture electronics module - GREAT NEWS IT WORKS - hooray
You mentioned the RC2 and the RC Pro (which has a mini HDMI out), but it would not work on a regular RC that comes with the Mini 3, correct? I was hoping to find a solution to stream video via an HDMI transmitter, but it appears the regular RC does not provide any video signal you could capture from the HOST port. Thanks for sharing.
@UKDroneGeek Not many know this. I had a 6 in one USC C to HDMI, DisplayPort and USB converter that I use to connect my laptop/ZFold4 to monitor. It worked out-of-box. Very grateful for this video. If you can do this, why is dji not supporting this with Goggles 3. The display on RC 2 goes off when using Goggles 3.
I almost always fly with full size iPad. Getting ready to purchase an rc2 and am happy to hear iPad is still an option. I don’t care for the tiny dji screen.
I have a 75 inch smart tv that I thought if I could put my controller on that screen I could see the final product on the screen I’m going to watch on. I see so much more detail of the forest floor on the big screen but I can’t see it in real time. I thought about attaching the RC to my iPad and then screen mirror my tv but I wonder if you could directly attach the tv. I have large windows in my family room that I can still maintain line of sight. Haha it’s cold out there. lol
I just bought a DJI Drone Mini pkg and it came with the RC 2. So I can use a mini C / HDMI connector and hook the RC 2 directly to the HDTV TV HDMI input? I want to use it for roof and chimney inspection after storms come through.
Hi, thx for the video, please test this connection using glasses whith hdmi for second screen, is it possible? What is the best glasses hdmi for this connection?
I used to use an iPad mini with my Dji Mini 2 but now have the RC controller with my mini 3 pro. However, the thought of having a 12.9 inch iPad Pro hooked up to my soon to be purchased 4 pro or Air 3 is very appealing! Thanks for sharing fella. (Subbed) Cheers, Andy 👍🇬🇧
You ROCK UK Drone geek. Subscribed! My iPad is 9th gen, lightning port, not C. It is running OS 18. Been trying for days to pair the RC2 with the iPad with no luck for mirroring. Will this work with an apple lightning port?
Great idea! Also, instead of connecting into ipad, another option is to use so called filed monitor with 1200 nits britness, sun hoods, tripod mount and lut support. Or connect right into FPV googles with nice OLED screens and enjoy even better flight experience.
@@EdgarSnowSki I have used my Fatshark Dominator goggles for my Dji Inspire 1 by connecting a mini HDMI cable (hdmi mini on both ends) to controller and to the Fatshark it works perfect but on the RC2 theres no hdmi output how can i make this work?? The Fatsharks i believe are analog...?
HI! Thanks for the video! Forgive perhaps my stupid question, I'm a little confused: to bring the video signal from a device to a screen... don't you just need a cable? Why do you put this UGREEN device in the middle? For example what if you simply connect your RC to the iPad via a simple USB-C cable? Is not the same outcome? Thanks so much for your help!
can you help pls. im trying to sus out a way to play drone sims on the tv for the kids on christmas. can this be done ? FPV neednt be dji they have their own knowlede i just need to set it up. i have a imac M1 and phillips tv ive tried to mirror the screen but even that i cant get to work
Interesting. maybe not for my Mini 3 Pro though. Might be difficult to manage all that on location? Could be useful for your spotter to see what's going on if the cable is long enough. A very nice share!
Very cool - the bigger the screen the better while in flight. I live near a river and have horses and it's dang near impossible to see the animals or things on the river until you can view it on a nice computer screen. I guess at some point it becomes a bit cumbersome through. Good work.
Thanks for the comments. I do appreciate it. Yeah it’s not for taking out in the field everytime, I usually throw things in a bag and go, but occasionally I do need this sort of setup, especially if other people are involved, the use cases are different and I get a lot of people won’t see any value. I used to fly my old Phantom 4 Pro all the time like this, and yes it took about 10 mins to setup with a tripod etc. again appreciate you stopping by to watch
I tried your ios apps, but there was no response. I have some questions for you. The HDMI you connected to the remote control is a normal HDMI? Or a mini HDMI? Because I use RC Pro control, which uses Mini hdmi output, but I don’t have a mini, so I can only use the mini to normal connector. I don’t know if this is the reason, so when I use that app, there is no response at all😓😓😓 Thanks your relpy first 👌🏻👌🏻
you said the Orian software for ios, is there another program to use with an android tablet? Doing this setup is much safer than having somebody over your shoulder trying to view the controllers video\images
Not working over all in my case! I bought the adapter and cable as recommended. Tried the combination with an iPad Pro M1 and another one with A CPU. Tried RC 2 and as well my MacBook Air M2, a Lenovo Laptop with usb-c and my RC Pro with HDMI. Used the Orion app and some other HDMI apps. Used as well another adapter. All the combination did not work! However - the RC 2 and all my other devices works with other monitors via USB-C and HDMI. Maybe the function is missing in the new Fly App!? 😢😢😢
This is a fantastic idea, and I will use it with my search and rescue team. I do need a little help to get it working if you have some time. Frankly, if anybody knows how I would greatly appreciate your assistance. I loaded the mentioned software. I have the pad pro 12 inch and I have the mini four pro. I ordered the w Ugreen cables off the Internet. I can’t seem to get a reaction at all on my iPad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kent/Montana.
Very nice video. I would like to do a setup like this with my Mavic Pro 3. Could you do a video on that tripod setup? It looks quite professional how you've done it. Would appreciate it.
im using USB type C to Lightning from iPhone 14 charger as a DJI Remote cable , does it works stable ? because i dont want to using the DJI cable because it doesnt fit to my case iphone remote monitor

Is there any way to have clean output ? Temporary just to make some live streaming?
It will mirror rc-2 screen, is there any option like that?
Man you hit the spot. That’s exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much.✌️😎👍
Hey thanks for the comments and feedback.
Great idea! Just tested it, works wireless with a DJI RavenEye, too.
Thanks for the comments
Can you elaborate on how to wirelessly display the RC2 on an iPad please?
Great video👍. I will be adding this to my Christmas 🎅 list
Thanks for sharing

Great simple intuitive video.
Just what I needed to know.
I'm getting the cables and trying it on Android.
Ugreen kit is good.
Did you get it working on Android? What Software and cables did you use if it was (not) working?
Would love an update on this
Can it also be used with goggles v2 for video out to ipad? Thank you sir
Any chance this will work with the DJI RC Controller with a mavic 3?
can you post link for amazon here in the U.S..I cant find the exact capture card....Thanks
Thank you for this tutorial Don't know if I'am going to use it, but knowing that it can, is helpful.
Thanks! This is just what I was looking for.
Hi! I have managed to put the same rig together and it works as shown on the video.

RC2 has USBC DP display port so you can connect rokid or xreal glasses directly
Nice find thanks !

Great video, nicely done. I’d also be interested in how you setup everything on the tripod.
Super Awesome Information, Thanks!
Happy Holidays and Happy Flying!
Just bought the cables you say 2 buy. Unfortunately, I can't buy from the UK amazon but found them on the US side. Thanks for all your information 👍

This is what I was looking for. thank you so much . I am happy with that . Good review thank you
Hello. Is there a way to do this without the onscreen buttons and whatnot? I’d love to get a what I believe is called a ‘clean’ output stream
No. Because it's mirroring the controller's image.

Hey Mikey! He likes it 🎉😂!
I’ve got the rc n controller the one without the screen will thus still work or some need something different ?

Have you noticed any issue with the ipad draining the RC controller with your set-up? Any way to charge both the controller and Ipad at the same time?
Any possible way it could work with a non usb-c iPad. A lightning cable capture card cable perhaps?
Love the vid. Thank you
Excellent video. You hit the nail on the head with this one.😅 Can this be done with analog HDMI input goggles also?😊
So usb-c to usb-c will not work, it has to be through an HDMI cable in the middle?
