Michael Shazam Haha, when we beat Castlevania back in the day, we took a Polaroid picture of the TV screen as proof, it was so beyond belief. Difficulty, you say? I savor every moment I hand over a text adventure game to an 11 year old and watch them stumble aimlessly for five minutes, then quit, completely clueless what to do. Watching them attempt Oregon Trail is pretty rich, too. Probably my worst memory was the bomb/dam level in TMNT on the NES. That shit will trigger some Vietnam vet level PTSD.
Revidescent84 Heh i remember that level in TMNT, the secret i think is that it is ok to take some hits, just make sure to switch between the turtles to fully absorb the damage. Watch a speed run of this game and then try, it's much easier this way. Of course you have to memorize the locations too but not to hard in the end. I never figured that out as a kid hehe.
From what I remember I bought the Super NES at Toys R' Us in South Miami just so I could play Super GnG, I think it was around Xmas 1991. I had played the Genesis version, probably my favorite game ever. This Super GnG was very good, there was some slowdown when a lot of graphics were being displayed. I hadn't beat it by the New Year, saw Firehouse on New Year's Eve Bayfront Park, Miami. Jan 92, I'd keep the game on pause while I was as work, come home and play the 2nd round, which was much harder of course, this is Capcom we're talking about. Finally got to the end boss, the hardest boss EVER. I tried to beat him for a week or two but finally just gave up but kept it on pause. I had to pick up a friend returning from Saudi(we were in the military) at the Miami airport. I just had to show him how hard Super GnG was and what do you know I FINALLY beat the game..we both were standing up and I think right then and there I packed up the SNES and Game and I took it back to Toys R' Us for a full refund, which I was very surprised they did honor. By the end of the year SNES was in a price war with Genesis and I bought it again for something like 90 bucks. I still say the Genesis GnG was my favorite game ever, this SNES version would be in my top 20 of all time as well.
I don't remember the bit near 42:29, but then again I did have the Japanese import version. I noticed some minor differences. What do you get from a chest when you're maxed out as it were?

I don't get why people say that this game is difficult, it was the easiest of the three: I never finished Ghouls'n'Ghosts back in the day, but with a bit of effort I could get to the end of this more than once (it also helps that it gives you plenty of lives and credits).
True artists from the 80’s and 90’s. They sit next to pre-2000’s Konami at this game. Super Castlevania IV and Super Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts have this the Super in them. Well worthy of those titles.

It almost looks perfectly timed, but can't truly tell... but wait... damn you do it again on the second run. Looks like you use it as a timing mechanism of some kind. Well played.
do you have an automated autofire? I see unrealistic to actually be able to shot at that frequency. first of all, i am using pro joystick and sanwa controls, and -you know,- the time for the springs to contract and the internal microswitches with fast-ons to activate, even at the highest speeds you cannot reach that shoting frequency. not only that, maybe it is possible in a certain moment to shoot close to that, but in a long term, like those 40 minutes, you would get very tired, so i see it quite unreallistic to hold that frequency either for a long time.
I can't understand much of your comment, but there are two Fire buttons (you can see them on the Options menu) and I'm alternating between both. Yes it would be too fast for a single button. Also I'm a pianist.

Daniel Brown Judging by the hits the monsters take, it was on a high difficulty. That is way better than what I can do. I can do it on easy without death and the first quest without getting hit, if I get lucky. And I have beaten the game 8 times by now.

I didn't know you were supposed to beat it twice. This was such an accomplishment for my brother and I at the time so when we realized or thought that we forgot something we were furious. I broke my controller and never played the game again to this day. Haha. Obviously I know now that in fact I didn't miss anything but that you are supposed to play through twice. I remember this game scaring us pretty good st that age too. I will always have respect for people that whoop this games ass. The game that I feel I'm pretty legit at is Dark Souls! Definitely. Once you have the silver armour, the bow fires homing bolts which don't stop until they hit something. Until all three of them do, you can't shoot again. So if you're running through the level, you'll be stuck unable to shoot while the last slow-ass bolt follows you along trying to decide what to target.

I know there used to be a cheat for the bracelet to appear in the last treasure chest as acquired by Kareshi in the video. The authenticators should have been aware of this and requested Kareshi to acquire the bracelet in a treasure chest other than the last treasure chest in his video submitted. I would like to personally see speed runs with bracelet acquired in treasure chest other than the one in question. If this video is authenticate, on professional difficulty, and unassisted(no cheats), then well done Daniel Brown my hats off to you.

If you want to get technical. Technically Daniel Brown takes damage and loses a life, as Sir Arthur at 42:28 before the end credits are finished.Technically this is not a flawless completion. I haven't played this game in some time but shouldn't those spikes he falls through at 42:28 damage his armor?
so plan to replay ghouls and ghost in the future :) haven't played that since like maybe i was in 4th grade I wasn't around when it first came out though so when i heard about it like 8 years ago I played it for weeks I wasn't good at it though but enjoyed it none the less. Little tip when you start double jump to the left get a chest then when you jump of the first pillar is your green armor, then at the second crypt is a shield on top and the gold armor if you jump just right
(By the way, this should have been played on Professional instead of Normal. xD Although it was cool the video creator didn't try to hide the difficulty level from the audience. A lot of others would have.)
@FfantasyF I could make a case for adding Normal as an SDA variation, but I'd rather not. The main difference is that the bosses of Round 2 Stage 7 are easier on Normal mode vs. Professional mode.

i had to stop 2:29 min in i made a promise to myself to beat this game one day when i was only 6 and spent days trying to beat this. i will not take back my promise and for the many others who i know never beat this game, watching this video without beating it yourself is just... wrong... this game taught me to never give up and when you feel over whelmed to return when your stronger. That day come now!
He doesn't. His comment explains why it happened. Seems weird they programmed it that way, but I figure the story checks out - you see Arthur shoot twice, right where any sane person would have jumped.
You shoud have taken a hit on the dragon boss both times through and the laser at the second playthrough end. Other hits are iffy, but in my experience with this game those three moments were definite hits.

By design, this game (and all other games in the Ghosts 'n Goblins series) has to be finished twice, no matter what the difficulty level is.
No, you can see how I remap the buttons at the option screen, I'm using two buttons for Fire that are easy to go back-and-forth between.

I beat Ghosts 'n' Goblins when I was 8 years old, but I had to stay up all night to do it. Mom was pissed because I had school in the morning. lol.

i had to stop 2:29 min in i made a promise to myself to beat this game one day when i was only 6 and spent days trying to beat this. i will not take back my promise and for the many others who i know never beat this game, watching this video without beating it yourself is just... wrong... this game taught me to never give up and when you feel over whelmed to return when your stronger. That day come now!
To me, the music was the best on the SNES version. Of course SNES was all I had, but it just sounds better to me.

He doesn't. His comment explains why it happened. Seems weird they programmed it that way, but I figure the story checks out - you see Arthur shoot twice, right where any sane person would have jumped.
You shoud have taken a hit on the dragon boss both times through and the laser at the second playthrough end. Other hits are iffy, but in my experience with this game those three moments were definite hits.
