what exactly happens at 4:55, does this glitch turn off your collision with the terrain so you just get past the threshold area for the level to be considered done? amazing run

You must be new to speedruns because you're complaining about an entire category. If you want glitchless speedruns, they exist, including for this game. They're slower and arguably less entertaining than glitched runs because they more closely resemble a standard playthrough. If that's the category you like, go watch them instead of this category that you mistakenly clicked on.

I believe it's the momentum this glitch gives that allows us to pick up the flare and clip past the door, i'm not 100%
you held a 47:3x pace up until entering dragons lair. is that a new goal or do you have other goals first?
I will probably try for 47:3x, I can't guarantee anything tho
