      @@chanunnaki gaming is pretty much all digital. when those servers go down or the license expires you rely on piracy (if its even possible on the system). even if you're buying games on disc you're getting a crappy version that was probably built 2 months before the game was sold with no dlc support. then theres games where the main selling point was the online component. dont even get me started on Nintendo's self destructing digital only games like that mario battle royal. nothings being preserved.

    • @ContemporaryCultist
      @ContemporaryCultist ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Yeah! I hope it forces the competition to get off their butts so that we can get a huge selection of killer portable consoles. Also screw Nintendo for selling such an underpowered, yet so expensive Switch.

    • @songolin4544
      @songolin4544 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      @@ContemporaryCultist the Switch and Steam Deck hits different parts of the market. They both play games, but one is a fairly closed system with a fairly controlled experience, the other is a fairly open system that has avenues to tailor your experience however you want. One pushes the limit to being a handheld size, the other is a "handheld" technically but let's be real.
      The Switch was never designed to be a powerhouse, it was designed to be a Nintendo experience on the go. Steam Deck was designed to bridge the gap between handheld and PC gaming so it needs to be optimized in some areas and relatively powerful to deliver an acceptable to good experience.
      There are also competitors looking to see if they can enter the Steam Deck's space with even better hardware, but time will tell.

I would put bots in a small map and set it to rockets only, I would then hide somewhere and use the secondary firing mode to pilot the rockets around the map chasing bots. It actually brings tears to my eyes to see that we are emulating Xbox 360 and Playstation 3s on a handheld device. I recall an issue of Next Generation Gaming or EGM magazine that said that we would have PlayStation 3 power level handheld devices by 2030. At the time I thought that it was ridiculous because the PlayStation 2 was the fresh hot thing and I just could not imagine anything strong enough to emulate that on handheld. Cheers for the vid. yeah i am impressed with these last updates. i had RDR running at 4k FSR and running at 480p upscaling with the hacks although this does not work right now as shadows dont render correctly. now i have RDR running at native rez with fsr to 4K uprez at almost 60fps locked when not in a town/city. This is with a 5800x that can boost to 5.0ghz when im lucky so mostly 4.9ghz when on emulation. I Have been massively impressed with these updates lately as i have also tested with rpc3 and RDR and its much worse running and also looking / rez. Cheers for your vids.

    To get MGS2 and 3 to work in Xenia you need to extract its xex-file from the iso using a program called isoextract. That way you can start the individual xex-file for the game you want to play. It might sound like a hassle but it's really easy to do, isoextract does the work for you as long as you have an iso-file.

    have you tried the PS3 versions of the MGS HD collection? RPCS3 is my preferred way to play, and I've only tried 2 and 3, but 2 runs fine and 3 is a little stuttery. I'd still like to see Xenia working for this, as MGS3 relies on the pressure sensitive PS3 buttons with no way to control them otherwise (360 had clicking the left stick instead for a light X press)

    I am trying to get Gears of War 2 working with xenia canary on Steam Deck in Win10 (it does not work with proton), but I have problem that game always detects two controllers. I think 1st is keyboard and 2nd is xinput, so single player campaign plays in splitscreen ... I even did edit config file and changed HID from all to xinput, but it is still the same. If I kill steam and that way disable steam controller ... it works, but only with keyboard. I did not find the way how to force Gears of War to use only xinput. Any1 can help?
