After seeing it come up, the full fight-motion (fight/flight) was absolutely.... In that situation quadriplegics get up and run off. I literally wheezed I laughed so hard!! These videos are amazing. It was right there, I could feel the freedom. Then all of a sudden I was tossed in the air, did at least 3 flips and landed in his lap. I fought for my freedom and tried again and again to escape but was captured again
I started sprinkling sand into my enclosures and I was so flabbergasted by how much better they looked.

Lol this made me feel better. I did this with my regalis the other day. Thankfully it landed on my bed. I've been keeping for about 7 years now and still teleporting poecilotheria still scares the shit out of me
I've been keeping for like 10 weeks and my very chill and slow curly spooks me when she moves slightly faster than molasses in wintertime 😂
So about the older enclosures, you could clean up the plexiglass if you wanted to spend the time but idk if it’s worth it to you, but you can wet sand / using buffing compounds to clear up the glass.

I couldn't help but laugh! I'm so glad there were no injuries from this little mishap though! I keep telling people that while I do adore spiders, an unexpected one still makes me jump! The end result was worth it, they look great!

Omg I've had the exact same thing happen except it's because my mother spooked me while I was in absolute concentration and accidentally flung my babygirl 😅she didn't fly up to the height of this tarantula but I just happy she also landed on me. she's alive, not harmed and didn't get injured whatsoever..... His not the only one whose accidentally done this trust me I've seen even long time keepers make silly reflexes 😊 your good man😅 us proper fans of you understand your explanation of it

I recently had to rehouse one of my girls, and good god, did she give me a similar scare. I was shaking by the end of it... she is an a. chalcodes... don't underestimate the spoods.
I fear the day I have to rehouse my ridiculously flighty G pulchra sling because it is little and FAST
I've handled non venomous snakes for over 20 years, but I still have the urge to jerk my hand away from a strike- even if I know the individual snake is prone to doing it. It's just a self preservation instinct we all have, and sometimes it wins out lol.
I always enjoy the runners I seem to shout go free little buddy, never a dull moment in the Dark Den! 😅
5:30 You should add this to the opening sequence for season 6 of Dark Den. It's pretty metal!
Sometimes the body just reacts. I worked as a sous chef for a couple years at a seasonal Inn and can say I have had to physically reverse a natural reaction to catching something falling, just in these cases it was hot food. The mind isn’t always the fastest 😅

I want to thank you for helping me with my spider phobia. I couldnt even deal with the small ones and now i can humanly get them out of my house without panicking. Well not completely but i defintely panic less.

These are some of the nicer enclosure s you've made, I like the cork at the top and a whole floor on the bottom. Also you're so lucky she landed on your soft sweatpants and not the floor, but don't worry about what people think, everyone has off days and everyone makes mistakes, as long as you learn from them like Exotic Lair, the Geniculata incident was worse but he learned from it and he never feeds his Ts up high anymore, he moves the enclosure to the floor

You don't have to out silicone on the foam to coat it with substrate. Just sprinkle the substrate on the wet foam.
