Pronounciation of hungarian is easier than english because it hasn't developed into a rythmic way but almost remained ancient. Hungarian grammar, is the hard part.
You could have mentioned that Mátyás captured Wienna and controlled it until his death but this video is very accurate and well done so it isnt a problem.
@@mihaiciubotaru6149 that is a little bit inaccurate. His origin is a matter of scholarly debate, and yes he seems to have some romanian ancestry on his father side, but the facts are that: 1 his mother was fully hungarian, 2. he and his father both spelled their name with the hungarian spelling not the romanian one. 3. We know he spoke hungarian and its unclear whether he spoke romanian, some sources indicate he understood, but not spoke romanian, 4 his home city was a hungarian city in todays romania, and it is to this day the main population centre of ethnic hungarians in todays romania. Based on this we can conclude that even though he had some romanian roots, he also had slavic roots and in his life he was more of a hungarian than anything else
As someone who was born in Hungary and but grew up elsewhere, i was never taught the history of my country etc. so i always find myself coming back to videos like this….
Watching this after history class, it’s really good for putting all the info into context. Let’s appreciate our common history, not our differences. Greetings from Romania 🇷🇴🤝🇭🇺
Wow, what an incredible journey through Hungarian history! It's fascinating to see how the country evolved over time despite facing numerous challenges. Hungary's resilience and cultural contributions are truly remarkable. Thanks for sharing this insightful overview!
According to the results of the genetic examinations made by the private companies on the Hungarian population these frequentest genes in Hungary: Proto-Hungarian, Bachtrian Hun, Scythian, ancient Carpathian Base, Sarmathian, Danish Viking, Swedish Viking, Longobard. Ooops.
@attila.theconqueror It's a very good question. 1.) Hungarian leaders and kings had viking bodyguards. Maybe someone stand in Hungary. 2.) Viking genes are not german genes. Their ancestors were pre-scythians.
@Vlad the Hun Slayer Can you interpret a text? Viking is in the today's population, not in Atila time. Atila was not Mongolian anyway, I don't know which idiotic one lied this for you. Priskos writes it down: Atila derived from the nation of the royal Scythians. You should read normal people writings possibly, not the today's crazy, brainwashed and lier historians.
@Vlad the Hun Slayer Slavs????? "Slav" word's mean is "servant", from Latin "sklavus" word. Slav they did not exist before the 9. century. But for example the "schwab" word also from origin sklavus. Sorry. The Slavs were the Germanics, Huns, and other nations' servants - they became from servants to independent folk, mixing with ugrics, normans, with Moravians (the Moravian were not Slav!) and with Scythian-Hun-Hungarian helps. The Slav language is the regressed scythians laguage. Their writing had got by Cyrill with their own method. Cyrill and Method means in real: Cyrill's method - Method name person never existed. Cyrill was not somebody else, than Atila's son, Csaba.
From Hungary, thank you for the enthusiastic, precise and beautiful video! Thanks for the precise pronunciation of the Hungarian names as well! One addition maybe: I don't know how good leader Kadar was, the question divides Hungarians pretty much. However, he commanded the execution of hundreds and persecution of thousands after 1956 so is not absolutely loved now for sure.
Just a quick fun fact about Matthias Corvinus, or Hunyadi Mátyás: His brother, László, was sentenced to execution, and was to be beheaded, however, on his execution, his hair was so long and thick that when the executioner hit him, it didn't cut off his neck. He tried 2 more times (3 times overall) and at the time, the law stated that if a man survived the 3rd hit, he was to be released. The executioner didn't obey the law, and hit László a 4th time, this time killing him. And so when it was time for Mátyás/Matthias to be crowned king, he was crowned on River Duna which had frozen over, at the age of 14. Some other rulers disagreed with that, and so they asked the public. The public chose for Mátyás/Matthias to be crowned once again. Once again, the rulers disagreed, and asked the public once more. The public once again, chose him. Mátyás/Matthias was crowned 3 times, at the age of 14, and was one of the best Kings Hungary had ever had. He was such a great and fair ruler, that he got the nickname "Mátyás/Matthias the Fair/Just" Also, the video was amazing and good job with the pronunciation! Love from Hungary❤🇭🇺
Tbf the Mátyás being crowned 3 times part is most likely only a legend, however the Duna being frozen part was incredibly important because one of the reasons the lords accepted Mátyás was the fact that the army of Szilágyi Mihály, Mátyás's uncle, was in Pest and was ready to march Buda through the frozen Duna if Mátyás doesnt get elected
Sorry but Mátyás want actually called Just when he was alive, the most just things he done was that he limited the power of the nobles so they cant threaten other nobles and stuff like that. If anything he had an iron fist bringing new taxes, executing everyone who disobeyed him and so on, however he was still a great king because he made the black army, extended the border castles and sas the second country after italy to introduce the renaissance. He was only called that later because the king after him erased the laws limiting the powers of nobles, gave a lot of land to them and did nothing about the turks invading hungary, and just sat on his throne, getting laid sometimes and giving the nobles anything they ask for.

This was a fairly good summary, in 7 min you can't do much more. But to adress Kádár János like a good leader NO, just no. So if you can do something to change it in the video I would be very thankfull.

You could have mentioned that Mátyás captured Wienna and controlled it until his death but this video is very accurate and well done so it isnt a problem.
Matyas who was of Romanian descent..
@@Nirhuman several wrong information..
@@mihaiciubotaru6149 all from wikipedia so take it up with them
@@Nirhuman you're arguing with a romanian whose sole goal is to shame hungarians in any way possible. Don't expect him to agree with you :)
As someone who was born in Hungary and but grew up elsewhere, i was never taught the history of my country etc. so i always find myself coming back to videos like this….
Azərbaycandan qardaş Macar millətinə salam!!! 🇦🇿 🇭🇺
Amazingly balanced and well researched material. Well worth to watch it.
Oh my, you did a great deal of work compiling all that information. Superb!
The "végvárrendszer"
Watching this after history class, it’s really good for putting all the info into context. Let’s appreciate our common history, not our differences. Greetings from Romania 🇷🇴🤝🇭🇺
The channel Hungarian Folk Tales gave me the curiosity to look up the history of Hungary.
Tudom hogy ezt nem fogja a videó készítője érteni hogy mit írok de nekem nagyon tetszett ez a videó és csak így tovább
Wow, what an incredible journey through Hungarian history! It's fascinating to see how the country evolved over time despite facing numerous challenges. Hungary's resilience and cultural contributions are truly remarkable. Thanks for sharing this insightful overview!
That was better and more accurate than what we learn in school. Thank you sir! I really appreciate it!

Budapest is gorgeous! When I think of Hungary, I think of intelligence, elegance, & fabulous food. Also let me say, Béla Lugosi🦇 forever!🥂
Ancient Hungarians were Vikings on horses.
Edit: My comment was just a joke, but the replies are pure cancer.
No similarities at all.
Although I'm half Hungarian living in canada I still feel patriotic towards Hungary and my Hungarian ancestors is that weird?
It's not :D -a fellow hungarian
Im love canadians and hungari. I Think you are the most Perfect being (from my wiev)
I have several Canadian family members and they all tell me, that "Canada is a beautiful country" and I want to travel to Ottawa one day :P
Why would that be weird, gotta remember your roots foo
This is literally a whole 3 years (before that were the ancient civilisations) of Middle school history, just under 8 minutes, Nice video!
Just moved to Hungary, the language is so hard 🖐🥲 🇭🇺
Look how close Hungarian and Kazakh languages are: (1) contract/agreement - szerződés - Шарт ;. (2) tent - sátor - шатыр ; (3) apple - alma - алма; (4) mother - anya - ана; (5) father - apa - әке; (6) lake - tó - көл; (7) blue - kék - көк; (8) fruit - gyümölcs - жеміс; (9) border - határ - шекара; (10) maiden - szűz - қыз; (11) calf - borjú - бұзау; (12) baby - szivi - сәби; (13) hen - tyúk - тауық; (14) to drink - iszik - ішу; (15) dead - holt - өлі; (16) wind - szél - жел; (17) cradle - bölcső - бесік
He was such a great and fair ruler, that he got the nickname "Mátyás/Matthias the Fair/Just"
Also, the video was amazing and good job with the pronunciation!
He was only called that later because the king after him erased the laws limiting the powers of nobles, gave a lot of land to them and did nothing about the turks invading hungary, and just sat on his throne, getting laid sometimes and giving the nobles anything they ask for.
this is such a cool video. thank you for making a guy who got suddenly obsessed with Hungary a bit happier. have a nice day bro
This is one of the best hungarian history in a nutshell videos I've seen.

Congratulations, Noble Sir, it's an astonishingly thorough and accurate video, thank you and blessings from Hungary!
You are mentioned every important events and monarchs in 7 minutes?!
Nice!
Very interesting and informing video.
This was a fairly good summary, in 7 min you can't do much more. But to adress Kádár János like a good leader NO, just no. He was a traitor and a dictator who is responsabile for many peoples death and for torturing people and crippling families. So if you can do something to change it in the video I would be very thankfull.

Really well done on the pronunciation.
You might have the best one out of ppl I watched.
The video itself is very informative and respectful too.
This was the best pronunciation of Hungarian names I've ever heard from a non-Hungarian. Kudos.

The way he said "Sziasztok!" is just funny. I don't know why but good to hear you learned a Hungarian word.
As a Hungarian I think that that was a straightforward and true summery of the Hungarian history.
