Der Name Broken Skull ist eine Hommage an den amerikanischen Wrestler Steve Austin. Ich hab mir den Range Boss geholt, genau dasselbe Messer, nur mit einem Stonewash und billigeren Materialien. Sehr praktisches, superleichtes Messer. Danke fürs Video.
Ja, stimmt. Aber es ist sicher das hässlichste Logo das jemals auf einem Cold Steel Messer existiert hat. Würde die günstigere Version mittlerweile auch eher empfehlen. Sehr preiswert.
The Broken Skull has been discontinued for some years now. As another commenter stated, it's successor is the Range Boss. The earliest iteration of this design from Cold Steel was the Lone Star Hunter.
I made the mistake of thinking the Broken Skull’s DLC coating would be easy to remove like earlier cold steel knives. DLC seeps into the steels microstructure. I spent most of a day trying to remove it with stripers, sand blasting, and power sanders. It’s been a great knife but I would never attempt to remove DLC again. You have to remove to much steel. I would just get it reground and thin out that blade a bit. XHP will take it. And note that my polished blade has never shown any sign of corrosion in the last 5-6 year’s. And to me, it sharpens up about like S30v/S35vn but with a finer edge. Just my mileage.
The Broken Scull is a very cool EDC , and with CTS HXP steel is an extremely good cutter with a flat grind 4" blade. I don't think it is still being made and I'm terribly pissed I didn't get one or two of them. 😊
For anyone looking for a knife similar to the broken skull, the Buck 110 slim pro TRX is almost the same. Unfortunately It’s about a quarter inch shorter, and is in s30v but it’s the closest thing to the broken skull besides the Cold Steel Range Boss.

I mostly use it as a food prep knife...
Yeah you need a belt grinder to do it, The old coating was Teflon which is easy to remove.

Irgendwann sicher. Kann aber noch lange dauern, wenn dann ein Video mit viel Aufwand.
