    Great points! I would for sure use the older model, change the cab a bit to be more like new, and build up the tipper for solid surfaces. Also use power functions.
    If new model come to plan, I would use Buwizz I have, and maybe pair another el.motor for the drive.

    What about some rough terrain test for 42030 b-model? 4x4 vs 6x6 on the large-size (4-6cm diameter) gravel land when one or more wheels could loose it's contact with surface.

    4:20. Judging by the white cable, are you using the large angular motor from the Mindstorms set? If so, it is interesting how the Control+ app works just fine, and PoweredUp app actually can differentiate these motors (i.e. the Technic one does not work, or does it?)

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Technic one does not work yet with the Powered Up app. The motors have different IDs, I guess Control+ simply ignores it since the functionality is the same. I don't know why it was not enabled the same way in the Powered Up app, but I was told that the support will be in the next release.

    Hey RacingBrick, I have a question, can you answer it? I want to make an ultimate rc off-road crawler-pickup and I wanted it to have loads of power, lockable differentials, an automatic gearbox (I found one on Sariel's channel which needs the old dark differencial that I don't have), portal axles and big wheels. I will be using Brickcontroller 2 to control it. Would you suggest I get this set and another XL motor for more power?

    • @amirpenkar947
      @amirpenkar947 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man I am doing the exact same thing rn 🤣 like fr I've just started. I'm planning on using BrickController and a BuWizz unit because I want to basically make a really fast off-road buggy CrossKart. And it to be powered using 2 XL Motors. The PF motors are better in my opinion and cost WAY less. I feel we can collaborate on this 👀

    0:50 Left is right and right is left? ;D I realy like the second control screen.
    Does the PU App now work with the angular motor?
    Plans to modify if the motors are controllable in the PU App:
    Move the liftarm, so it does not block the gear selector anymore, and create my own custom control. Add a second XL Motor, if there is enough space. Maybe I will simply close the larger gaps in the dump-bed with some yellow tape :D And maybe there is a way to make the articulated-steering-connection more solid. But I think efferman will create an extremly modified version with suspension anyway.
    In comparision to the 42030 B Model the 42114 is basically better in every way except power/kilogram. 42030 has a great A model we should stick by that :D

    • @RacingBrick

    And I still think that PF are better than Control+. It's obvious Lego made this new system to be more entertaining for kids, but c'mon, they already spend most of their time in phones. And not all parents can spend $200+ for a toy and $400+ for a proper phone for this set. This flagman sets are more for adults than kids.

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, they are not weaker at all. Remember 42114 is much heavier than the 42030 B model and both of them are powered by an XL motor, plus 42114 looses some power with the complex gearbox system as well.

    i still love the new one, control + to me is better then pf mechanically, while as the pf has my nostalgia control + has proportional controls, and for a rc car fanatic like me that is the tipping point, toy grade rc cars have their place. but they are quite annoying and useless to me ( technically pf and control + are hobby grade). but a hobby grade to me should be easy to upgrade/fix ( official definition) but it should also have proportional controls in my eyes. also i love 6x6's and haulers/mining trucks.

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also like the new one and the potential possibilities of the Powered Up components but it can definitely use some upgrades :)

    • @philp8872
      @philp8872 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get proportional control in PF with a train rc.

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The PF train controller is good for trains but practically useless for other vehicles, especially for car steering

    • @philp8872
      @philp8872 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RacingBrick I thought exactly the opposite, you can use it litterally like a steering wheel, plus you have the button for returning to center. It´s also nice for speed control. If you don´t like it for steering you can use a normal PF remote to steer together with the train remote for speed.

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@philp8872 I suggest to test the theory, because I did. If you try to steer or control the speed with the train remote you will realize that the response is terribly slow and it will not necessarily pick up all the dial turns, and for steering the return to center with the button is very inconvenient. It might work (with compromises) for a slow crawler but it is useless for anything faster than that. Despite the lack of proportional control the simple PF remote is much better if you have only PF IR.
