4:50. The Charles Morgan. The last whaling ship in the world. Built in 1841. She underwent a major 5 year restoration. It was then taken out for its 38th voyage in 2014. I live in the area and it was stunning to not only watch the progress, but then to follow her on the voyage. Can you imagine the insurance that had to be taken out on a one of a kind historic vessel? They didn’t know how it would sail. It looks cumbersome. Apparently she sailed like a dream. Totally restored using tools and techniques from the 1800’s to keep her historically accurate. Just amazing.
I remember a field trip i went on and I made rope from scratch, best place on earth, home sweet home 😊❤🎉
