Binging this wonder playlist of my people. Us NY'ers are not only incredibly tolerant of free expression and madness, but we tend to even add to it, even without knowing. Even the "normal" folks. I wouldnt consider squashing a bug into carpet common sense. I would consider that making the situation worse bc now that has to be dealt with. More work, more time taken away from whatever u were doing before it became the focal point of that moment.
Its only supposedly 'common sense' if u r the type of person that doesnt mind having potentially germy bug mash grafted onto ur carpet, couch, clothing, whatever.
This clip aside, most ppl with carpet like to avoid getting it dirty especially with something like that, bc u cant wipe up/disinfect carpet like u can a hard, non porous surfaced floor. 🤓
Ive been in that situation where I trapped a bug under a cup or something akin *many* times. Ive came up with different ways of handling it from there. But I know for sure that I dont want squashed bug in my carpet, couch or anywhere that I cant thoroughly clean it up.
U have to not care about that kind of stuff for it to just be a case of squashing it. Including having squashed bug on ur shoes. 🤔
Bugs are one of those special category life things. Think about it. Theres a reason that bugs are used for torture & to induce trauma. And there is a reason that so many ppl, regardless of gender, age, background are freaked out by them. Think of all of the movies where bugs are used to scare, hurt or gross ppl out. Im guessing u guys arent old enough to remember 'Fear Factor,' unless they rebooted it somewhere. There is something about the multilayered stress of an encounter with a particularly unpleasant bug (especially if its a big one or one known to carry &/or do nasty things) that can really throw someone off. Worse if u have to factor in other things like consequences(eg. carpet), location or ability to manuever. That & possibly already being afraid of that specific bug or bugs, in general, causes alot of static that messes up ur flow.
Im guessing that u guys 'like' or are neutral about bugs & a
re ambivalent about their presence where they are not 'supposed' to be (in 'sanctified' spaces eg. indoors, lol).....basically, pretty much ambivalent about everything (except for whatever are ur favs👍🏻). Thats usually how this kind of stance goes 😉).

yall just dont care about how certain tasks are completed (hence, being ok with squashed-bug-parts-&-juices-in-the-carpet souvenirs👍🏻😁).
Surely, there is something that someone could see u all do & have the same kind of opinion that u guys have about this. Different ppl, different povs, different experiences, different effects, different reasons, different priorities >> therefore different methods & different outcomes. Thats **one** of the reasons humans are so complicated. 👽🤓✌🏽
