This is the essence of Rock, going in deep and ripping it out. Neil Young is so awesome, he doesn't give a damn about who is better on who's instrument, if it works, it works. He is so scary honest with everything he does.
Nice....Ole Neil layin em down like a Bucking Bronco.....All Legends coming together for a Masterpiece of a old Mississippi blues song....And Robert playing electric guitar is quite rare , damn........🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🔥💪👊
i am so happy that the rockers are still alive for the most part .I baried my brother in 1984 from a drug overdose. Vietnam did him in. he was a loving soul that could not take war I want the outrage back that we had in the sixtes. he loved music and played bass, lead reathym and blues, wrote over 150 songs wordes and music and no one cared.. i feel so sad!
What a MONSTER riff. And Page graciously plays the riff all the way through, letting Young and later Plant take all the solos. What a GREAT spontaneous moment in rock n' roll history. Plant cleverly throws in a few lines from Buffalo Springfield. What a blast
Rock at its best... No polish, just raw as it should be. Neil Young loving every moment. He is certainly one of the most dynamic guitarists and both Jimmy and Robert looking on oh so slightly gobsmacked!!
Jolly ole time indeed my friends, jaw dropper to say the very least, Plant with a Paul, Jimmy Page, J P Jones, and Neil Young!!! Rock and Will Never Die!!!!
I watched this live back in college and always told anyone who would listen how incredible it was. Never figured that i would get to see it again back then. But....gotta love TH-cam. Sweetness.
Neil has given beautiful music with lyrics that are poetry which evokes images and emotions. He also Rocks! God Bless Him!! Love his guitar!! Prefer his own work!! He's an amazing artist!!
Ha! Was the Buffalo Springfield part planned? It took Neil a few seconds to rally and improvise, while the others looked clueless! What a cool gig! Plant was totally grooving with Neil; I wonder if they did more together??!! Going to look! What a great pair!
Boiled down moment of...what our teen years sounded like for RnR kids of the 70s. Brains & bones adjusted to being melted by the music of our heroes. Love watching legend Neil go totally nuts playing with LZ. Whose on those drums?
I love the way all the old rockers can get together and jam not like alot of bands today who are worried about who is better then who bullshit these guys had mutual respect for each other
bizarro powerhouse meetup, greatest blues rock guitarist of all time and medieval animal of the redwoods neil young, while plant adds vocals and $.02 guitar. amazing
Neil finds the groove again with Old Black. While Led Zep is great and was a big part of my music-loving youth, Neil's music, whether it's folk-rock, rock n roll or country rock, is just so interesting.
Jimmy, Percy and JP honored Neil by inviting him to jam. Neil documents the moment on Keep On Rockin' in the Free World stating "Got a note from Jimmy ...". It meant a lot to all of them. Jimmy played rythm as a nod to Neil but I don't think I've ever seen Robert with a guitar while on stage with Jimmy. Great to see and hear them all jamming together totally unrehearsed or scripted. Perfect for the godfather of grunge!
Great stuff! Notice at the end, as Pagey walks off stage, he stops to give a loving pat to Neil's Fender Tweed Deluxe. What guitar player wouldn't love that amp?
If it were anybody else, nobody would be impressed, they might even say it sucked, but these guys can do whatever they want because they are Rock and Roll GODS. I thought Neil was gonna have a heart attack. Robert plays better than anyone thought, including John Pau Jones by the look on his face. But it looked like Jimmy thought the whole thing was hilarious. Classic footage.
Plant getting down on the guitar, hell yeah. He seemed especially inspired on this one. The absolute gods of rock on stage together. No one is better and nothing could be better. If I would have been there, I possibly would have died.
Don't you mean Jimmy Page? Neil Young also on guitar. I've never seen Robert Plant play the guitar. Usually has a tambourine... I saw them live in the 70's
დიდებულია რობერტ პლანტის შესრულება! რობერტ პლანტის ვოკალი შეუდარებელია! Великолепно играет Роберт Плант! Вокал Роберта Планта бесподобен! Great is the performance of Robert Plant! Robert Plant's vocals are incomparable!
I do love Page, but he was so marginal in this, and knew it...Neil just jammed, and Plant matched the enthusiasm, and tempo too. Just love this, and love finding some "new" stuff I haven't seen before!!
Someone said it was Stephen Stills lyrics. Here's the realaity. The original "When the Levee Breaks" was recorded by the blues musical duo Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie. In the first half of 1927, the Great Mississippi Flood ravaged the state of Mississippi and surrounding areas. Wikipedia
I Am so amazed about the dueling leads also i do this on some of my recordings. These are to of my heaviest influences in my music of course So raw of a performance i felt like grabbing the guitar and playing with yah from here! of course you wouldnt here me
This whole performance is one gigantic ad for the gibson les Paul. In awe of its majesty. Fricking awesome!!!

A true Canadian. .
Never seen a stage Neil couldn't dominate.
Yeah. Sure.
Neil Young is not a 'lead' guitarist in this context, but he can slam out the rhythm like no one else!
Train wreck all night long 😩
Nice....Ole Neil layin em down like a Bucking Bronco.....All Legends coming together for a Masterpiece of a old Mississippi blues song....And Robert playing electric guitar is quite rare , damn........🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🔥💪👊
I don't think RP was plugged in lol.
Looks like I'm only 13 years late watching this video. I wish I could give it a triple like.
Super !!!

Any idea what chords they are playing? As you say a monster riff
You have to love this video Jimmy Page looks awestruck and amused watching Neil and Robert doing twin guitar solos.
Sensational!!!
WOW! Love Zeppelin!love Neil Young! I couldn’t even imagine them together. When the leve breaks is my most favourite Zeppelin song❤.
I would never have thought that Neil Young would be playing guitar with Jimmy Page! It rocks!
Plant is playing too.
plants playing young's style solo, playing on the very special timing - and Neils face showing great fun of it.
Two legends jamming together!!! Zeppelin and Neil Young Priceless!!!
Rock and Will Never Die!!!!
good Old Neil's getting right into it here isn't he? haha, awesome. love it.
I watched this live back in college and always told anyone who would listen how incredible it was. Never figured that i would get to see it again back then. But....gotta love TH-cam. Sweetness.
JUST ALL LEGENDS JAMMING THE HELL OUT OF THIS SONG IN AN AWESOME WAY!!!
Best R&R HoF induction year ever, Zep, Neil Young, Allman Bros, Zappa, and Janis!
Neil Young and Zeppelin...the gods have been good to us.
One of the best Zep song with my idol Neil...
LEGENDARY!!!
Best combination ever?
My two favourite guitarists. Two favourite songwriters. Can it get any better?
Neil wins top prize for being the ultimate rocker! Wow!
Neil has given beautiful music with lyrics that are poetry which evokes images and emotions. He also Rocks! God Bless Him!! Love his guitar!! Prefer his own work!! He's an amazing artist!!
I Love this Video.
there are no words for this

once in a lifetime performance. what a show i would love to play with them
Neil + Old Black = the perfect storm !!
That is awesome!!! Thank You!!!
I love the way all the old rockers can get together and jam not like alot of bands today who are worried about who is better then who bullshit these guys had mutual respect for each other
An absolute brilliant piece in Rock n Rolls' history here. Well done!
thats the first time i have ever seen Plant play guitar..rare
A great performance... Wonderful Jam.
Credo che Neil si stia divertendo molto con gli Zeppelin.... Tutti mostruosamente eccellenti
bizarro powerhouse meetup, greatest blues rock guitarist of all time and medieval animal of the redwoods neil young, while plant adds vocals and $.02 guitar. amazing

The noise, god what noise, what awesome noise.
How many Gods can you get on one stage!!
I've always thought that from about '86 on Neil started looking like a Muppet on stage.
amazing, this is history
awesomeness
If you are talking around 6:12, those are grins of admiration and amazement as Neil is hitting those harmonics...
WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE IT. 7 people don't know what good music is, shame on them.
WOOOOH!! Neil and his pinch harmonics squelin' all over the place! Fuckin' sweet! Jimmy & Neil look like their enjoying playing with each other.
Holy Moly. How have I managed to have missed seeing this before? And check out Robert Plant playing a Neil solo.

ROCK LEGENDS

Neil's got more moves than riffs.
I've died and gone to heaven. The levee broke.
@SoloJarred specially bonzos drumming... no one can top that musically genius of percussions sound and playing...
Vintage tuff guys.
Plant getting down on the guitar, hell yeah. He seemed especially inspired on this one.

wish you were here Bonzo.....
Robert has a guitar, imagine him playing rhythm with Zeppelin.. I saw the Firm with Paul Rogers and I think I remember Paul with a guitar.
I do love Page, but he was so marginal in this, and knew it...Neil just jammed, and Plant matched the enthusiasm, and tempo too. Just love this, and love finding some "new" stuff I haven't seen before!!
Funny stuff, but it looks like they all had a great time :))
How cool is that! Not a question.
thats like 20 tons of guitar riffage simply blissful.
27 years ago. I'm getting SO old!!! Surprised to see Plant pick up the axe. He was better than Mick when he took it up.😃

the top is here...young and page....fa
Eargasm!
And who can dislike this? I don't understand (and I don't care a lot)
neil is just possessed!
Can you just imagine the wall of soumd?? Incredible.
perfection meets raw expressionism.
I Am so amazed about the dueling leads also i do this on some of my recordings. These are to of my heaviest influences in my music of course So raw of a performance i felt like grabbing the guitar and playing with yah from here! of course you wouldnt here me
the rockin-roll,vibe was so strong even robert plant picked up a guitar that was awesum,im sure they said jolly good time that was,
Neil Young, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham.
There was a shit load of talent and musical genius on the stage that day.
It wasn't Jason on the drums that day
They were referring to the end when it morphs into "for what it's worth". : )
