I was fortunate enough to see Beastie Boys in concert, and it was incredible and organic. They literally exhausted and bewildered the audience with their ultra high energy show, so much so that by the time Smashing Pumpkins came on, the crowd didn't have much energy left...
If you like their live performances, check out their Glasgow show from 1999; the energy was pure fire, especially the last song. Their David Letterman performances were collectively a close second, especially the on-the-street-into-the-studio performance of Ch-Check It Out
Cypress Hill, Rollins Band, and Beastie Boys did a tour in 1992. I got to see them at the Edge Nightclub outer stage. It was my second ever concert (were it was my music).
The beat it switches to at MCA's verse near the end is the beat DJ Muggs did for Beastie Boys - So What'cha Want (Soul Assassins remix feat. Cypress Hill). It was one of the tracks on the "So What'cha Want" CD single. I still have the one I bought in 1992.
After they transitioned to Mix Master Mike as the DJ they had a standing rule that MMM could drop any beat in any song without warning. They wanted to always surprise them so they stayed sharp and everyone including them would enjoy the shows. So all the live stuff from later on is crazy because you and them never knew if the beat was going to change. There are some really good performances out there.
I've been waiting for you to put out the next BB reaction. Already subbed but I smashed the like. Adrock was shot out of a cannon in this performance. Great reaction.
I got to see Cypress Hill at Woodstock 94. They lit up a literal 8 foot joint on stage as big around as a garbage can. With a turbo fan, they rocketed smoke out across the crowd throughout their performance.
Saw them do this live in pittsburgh in '93 or '94. The place went nuts. That was the surprise toward the end of their set, but Q-Tip came out halfway through for "Get It Together". One of the sickest shows ever and I've seen plenty
Ad-Rock has said in interviews that he doesn't know why he used to scream so much. It's especially impressive b/c those dudes used to smoke weed all day. The second part of the song where Cypress Hill comes in, they ended up making a studio version of this, I believe it's called So What'cha Want (Soul Assassins Remix) or something like that
People always say that Ad Rock is always screaming and straining his voice. I think part of this performance is him really letting loose and showing what it sounds like when he is really screaming.
If you are looking for another live performance to check out, the one where they covered Sucker MCs by Run DMC as a tribute to Run DMC and Jam Master Jay (RIP) is off the hook
You should REALLY see the live in Amsterdam May 2004 - they have a whole ton of beat switch ups using beats from different groups and it's insane - it's SO GOOD. th-cam.com/video/c8ctLn6kP-o/w-d-xo.html

1994 Lollapalooza?
Saw it in Tinley Park :)
Damn, "1992, I wasn't even born yet" has me aging like Captain America in real time
I get that reference
I was only a year old lol
I know! I’m like, I’ve been getting fucked up since before this dude was ever born!😮😊
@@strettoasino9006 Nice counter reference
I was 29 and loved BB

One of the best live hip hop performances ever in my opinon
Saw Beastie Boys on the Licensed to Ill tour with Public Enemy opening. 3000 seat hockey area in 1987. Good times!
Oh man that sounds amazing!!!

I love that you 'get it'
I was able to see them live and that’s just Ad Rock, he doesn’t stop - pure energy. They’re just 🐐’s.
Absolutely class.
Proper hip hop👊🏼🇬🇧
Great I'm a 64 year old white guy. I have played drums for 30 years but I love the beats
Ad rock was always like this back then, dont know how😂
Awe i love it. Incredible. Beastie Boys sounds are long and funky. They were so freaking good

Thats crazy if that's true, the DJ was always a defacto 4 member. To see them give him that leeway seem right.
MMM was definitly the best DJ they had. The Glasgow & Amsterdam concerts are insane!
Love the Vikes Jersey.
SKOL!!
That was great!

🙏🏾 appreciate ya

Insaneeeeeee🤯
those people attending this taping were in for a night of history they didnt even know it
I graduated in high school in 1993 and listened to Beastie Boys all the time in college. SABOTAGE! Still do actually.

Saw this performance the night it happened
🔥🔥

You are correct, Soul Assassins Remix.
Good pick

R.I.P. Adam Yauch 🙏
The king Adrock that is hes name And he knows the fly spot where they got the champagne...Or something else LOL.
😂
Seen The Beasties and Cypress together around this time. Shit will never be that dope again, trust

Ad Rock was on a little something called YOUTH
I was 12. My mom busted me recording this on VHS. She beat my ass. Great memories. GenX!
Wait, you were born about when this came out? Welcome
That beat switch up is from the remix with Cypress Hill, there's a video to that also, it's the Cypress Hill remix
That’s the “Soul Assassins” remix.
Live on Letterman, especially CHECK IT OUT
That one is coming this week
Ad Rock is may favourite too ! Mike D said in an interview that Ad Rock was able to have a better solo career without the others ! :))
Jesus fucking Christ. Hell of a live collab.
Im 43 white lady still listening !
adrock bringing the punk rock energy.
Ad Rock was definitely high on something
Maybe weed… they stayed on point for shows… now afterwards, I heard they weren’t afraid to get down within reason
Dude, where you been? Adrock always stole the show, since Cookiepuss
Letterman 1994- Sabatoge
go for live in glasgow 99 men
React to beastie boys hip hop honors.
It's sad to have to point this out, but they toured together in 92....no surprise Cypress brought them to Arsenio, or collabed with them
ADHD is great! ❤
😂😂😂
For a group that didnt have front man....AdRock always bought it.

Maybe Ad Rock was on something - but also it sounded like he slightly modified his singing style to match the sound of Cypress Hill...
