When he said it was like Code Vein I legit thought for a second he was using Code Vein footage to show people who hadn't played it or remind people who had. Took me a few minutes to realise it wasn't.
I'm so glad they were actually able to finish this game as a small team. So many projects like this one crash and burn for all sorts of reasons, but they pushed through and improved based on feedback.
I played the original demo on PS5 and I wasn't sure about it. Now I checked out the new one and I could immediately feel the difference and I'm excited again.
I’m more interested in this than “Khazan the First Berserker”. Khazan looks like tons of other action games & Souls-likes I’ve played. I think I prefer “A.I. Limit’s” anime & cyberpunk aesthetic. Let’s just hope the gameplay is good!

Same actually. I play soulslikes mostly for the aesthetics. This has Bleak Faith Code Vein vibes which I love both of those. Hell, I loved Cry Machina which had way jankier combat than this does.
At least the developers are honest about the level of quality they are releasing. $30 is a reasonable price but I’m definitely going to wait. Besides Berserker and Atomfall, Monster Hunter Wilds is the month before. I’ll definitely still be on Wilds.
I absolutely loved Code Vein for how it handled the class system, but seems like this game might be like it in resemblance only. Still looks cool and glad to hear the combat feels smooth!

I’ve been tracking this one for a while bc I like to follow the games in the China Hero Project. Under that umbrella, the devs will have gotten some resources and help publishing the game from Sony, but we’ll see how much they help with the launch marketing. FIST forged in shadow torch got some for example, but awaken astral blade got less visibility so these Hero projects run the gamut in how Sony supports them. The upcoming Lost Soul Aside no doubt will get the biggest push yet. I hope AI Limit gets a chance, but it’s definitely in a tough spot to stand out in!

AI Limit and first berserker khazan are the 2 games im most looking forward to until later this year..I loved code vein and ai limit looks like a spiritual successor so that's awesome... and first berserker just looks badass
Played the demo for both this and First Beserker, and definitely FB is a day 1 purcahase, AI Limit is a worthy buy later on.. it's very reasonably priced which makes it a must play for me based on what I played. Given that, I feel they would really benefit delaying release a month or so outside of other Charachter ActionRPG's so it can get some focus.
I liked this one. Reminds me of a cross between Code Vein and Nier Automata (oh man, an actual Nier soulslike would be amazing). It definitely needs some fine tuning, though.
Sometimes, I like to think that the AI in a title is actually meant to be “Ai” (爱). “Love Limit” sounds way more interesting for an action game and makes you wonder what its premise could be.
Here in Brazil this game is cheaper than Khazan (120BRL x 300BRL), wich is a huge stand out for me. I'll try the demo, as I'm a little confused about the recommended specs in comparison with Khazan. I'll try both demos, since Kazhan's demo releases on 16th jan. Thanks for another amazing video!
I actually enjoyed Code Vein back in the day. It wasnt perfect but to me it was fun and engaging. So if this game will be in the same... vein, then I'm all for it!
As a code vein player, this is probably the only one of the 3 I'm interested in as most souls-like games just dont interest me much. Plus the not having to go pick up xp when I get killed actually sounds pretty good. My failure for once has a real cost, unlike other souls-like where it turns into a chore of going and picking it back up. Happy ganing.
My souls-like fatigue is at an all time high. I remember back when DS1 came out and loving it. In a time where action games often had gimmicky bosses with qtes or bosses that were set pieces, i thought it was so nice to just go toe to toe with these abominations in a straight brawl. Now what i want is more character action games, bring back the set piece gimmick bosses. Im not saying souls likes shouldnt exist, theres obviously a market for them and im happy people enjoy them. But i wish more devs would be willing to take up platinum games mantle and make some really good, flashy character action games.
I wish someone would make an ARPG that very much resembles a Souls-like, but lets you have a power fantasy like top down ARPGs, AKA diablo-likes. I'd love a game like Elden Ring, but with difficulty settings so I can actually have fun with it most of the time.
@@matthuck378 isn't that basically more a beatem up at that point? Pretty much a character action game. Play bayonetta, its that 3rd person camera but your just smacking up 10 enemies at a time and its more about doing it with style then just getting it done. Its not hard to beat, but if your going for the pure platinum score it is very difficult and requires mastery of the combos. Also I just think more people should play bayonetta. Though old GoW, bayo or DmC, lack the rpg character building aspect, you do get all the power fantasy. Or if I'm interpreting it wrong and you want a top down souls like, no rest for the wicked is pretty much that.

The updated demo on PS5 is excellent. I'm not sure if they made it easier tho, parried the boss to death. (Haven't tried the boss rush boss properly yet.)
Just tried the Demo, i expected a half baked, souls like wannabe, code vain rippe off, but i actually enjoyed myself and was somewhat impressed, i recommend anyone interested to try the free demo

I'm extremely hyped for this game, everything about it reminds me of Code Vein, not to mention that it has several weapons to collect, something that I simply love in a game of this type. I've watched some gameplay vids, and yeah the movement looks pretty fluid to me, but oh my god, the enemies' attacks tracking is just... why. Why are modern souls-likes devs so scared to make AI enemies (mobs and bosses) miss & whiff their attacks, why do they keep adding this insane tracking every now and then, this is just beyond me. Of all things in a game centered around melee close combat a more fair, and more forgiving tracking would not just make the player life easier, but could also potentially add a level of cinematicness to fights, because trading hits, blocks, and dodges only isn't what makes a good fight. Sometimes a good whiff, a well-placed hit miss (not a dodge-caused miss) adds a ton to a fight, and makes it something more than just a mechanical skill check & timings learning lesson.
Yeah Kazan was better and will buy that. It hooked me with satisfying Parry. A skill system where I can respec without any cost !! I was testing all the three types w.r.t parry, combos and attack times. The world is like a corridor simulator though. AI Limit, I was bored in a minute after playing, gameplay felt unfinished. They both are releasing on the same day.
edit: I take it back. Weapons in the boss challange seem original. (The dual drills are super fun) Back from playing the demo. Am I crazy or does it play exactly like Lies of P? It looks to me like they lifted the entire player moveset and non-boss enemies form LoP. Are those maybe store assets? Where can one get them?
It looks okay but looking at it I think I'd rather just play Code Vein again which I already own. Maybe if the full release can prove it does something special.

played the demo, doubt i will pick it up. you stuck in so many animations, no canceling, dodging feels stale and janky and s feel off. it detracts allot from a aggressive push visceral style combat. if it gets changed a bit in release would be a plus

The amount of people saying code vein 2 is astonishing. Code vein movement alone were 100 times more fluid and satisfying than this lmao. The character movement looked like it's being affected by a bugged Skyrim mod. The animation overall is downright atrocious and inferior, so it's EXQUISTE, that people are comparing this to code vein.
I do like the aesthetic. It does resemble Code Vein or Scarlet Nexus. And I really like not having the standard, annoying IMO, stamina bar. I just think Stamina Bars feel bad. It sucks to not be able to dodge or attack just because you dodged or attacked "too much." It also goes all the way back to Diablo 2. Remember that stamina bar? It was the worst, most pointless thing in an otherwise nearly perfect game.
both bosses feel like bullshit, doesn't feel like you're fighting actual people/creatures, but rather objects tracking you, there have been multiple moments that i've recorded that i've dodged out of the way but the game was like "yea you're still gonna take damage tho" also the half-second input delay really sucks however, the unnamed, dual-blader with a hood that moved unnaturally that you fight in the demo on the way to the demo boss (not the boss challange) was the only time where getting hit felt like my fault
I appreciate your in depth reviews but I got used to the fact that you like all games and recommend everything. This is the first time I see a review where you go "meh". I feel like that for 80% of the games that are hyped out in a particular year
Some of the best RPGs of all time are JRPGs. Chrono trigger, Phantasy Star, many of the Final Fantasies and Dragon Quests... Some of the best tactical RPGs are too, like Tactics Ogre, Valkyria Chronicles, and Final Fantasy Tactics. It's stupid, frankly, if you're an RPG fan, to only play "western" RPGs.

The price is this games main advantage over similar games, Khazan seems better but costs twice as much.
On top of the fact it's region priced, mine here is RM 100 before discount. Without region pricing it would be RM 140+

I wonder if you have tried the boss challenge. It allows to try out a variety of mid-game builds against a fairly challenging boss.

didn't like the dodge capacities and no block. Being not able to roll whilst locked on ruined the game for me
both bosses feel like bullshit, doesn't feel like you're fighting actual people/creatures, but rather objects tracking you, there have been multiple moments that i've recorded that i've dodged out of the way but the game was like
"yea you're still gonna take damage tho"
also the half-second input delay really sucks
however, the unnamed, dual-blader with a hood that moved unnaturally that you fight in the demo on the way to the demo boss (not the boss challange) was the only time where getting hit felt like my fault

I appreciate your in depth reviews but I got used to the fact that you like all games and recommend everything. This is the first time I see a review where you go "meh". I feel like that for 80% of the games that are hyped out in a particular year
I regularly say to only buy games on sale if at all, I just don't scream about it so that gets interpreted as completely positive.
If its like a souls game than will definitely give it a hard pass but I did see there is a demo out which is cool

Some of the best RPGs of all time are JRPGs.
Chrono trigger, Phantasy Star, many of the Final Fantasies and Dragon Quests...
Some of the best tactical RPGs are too, like Tactics Ogre, Valkyria Chronicles, and Final Fantasy Tactics.
It's stupid, frankly, if you're an RPG fan, to only play "western" RPGs.

I think I'm burnt out on Souls-likes and this looks like a generic anime girl game. On top of that: the developer - SenseGames - is out of China, which I try to avoid for reasons that should be obvious. So I'm going to pass on this one.
