    That charging station sounds ingenious, but surely creating a road surface material with a higher albedo effect would make those solar panels even more effective... Just a thought. Car looks great! I'm desperate for something with a larger boot than the EQA, but a similar price to come out. The EQC is far too overpriced an animal for what it is.

      We're seeing a lot of innovative power solutions appearing now. Mercedes-Benz has an energy division that uses repurposed batteries from plug-in-hybrids and electric cars to capture energy from wind turbines and solar panels which can then be fed into the grid when demand rises. Keep an eye out for new product releases this year - it's going to be a big year for the Mercedes-EQ family!

    Will the EQA be the cheapest vehicle in the EQ range? Does it come with the MB dash cam?

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will be - this is the entry point to the Mercedes-EQ family. The dashcam is not currently available with this model in the UK but we are starting to see more models gaining it as part of an option package. Keep an eye out for future specification changes.

    12:54 What's Pre-entry Climate control on the apps?

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pre-entry climate control allows you to start the air conditioning system before starting your journey. This is a great thing to do as the car is at the right temperature when you get in and the air conditioning system doesn't have to use much energy to maintain the temperature when you are on the move. When the car is plugged in to a power source any energy used is replaced automatically so there's no impact on range when the car is connected to a charger. It can also be used to de-frost the car in winter by setting the temperature to maximum.

    any possibility of a review of the eqa 350?

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've driven it and it is great. The performance is spot on and the regen is much improved by having two motors to use to slow the car down. The 350 is easily my pick of the range. Whilst we don't have an EQA 350 to get in front of the camera, we will have a video on the EQB 350 coming out very soon - stay tuned!

      @@LandLAutomotive thank you, i want to buy an eqa350 this year. has it even been released yet?

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@snuggles03 It has - the first 4MATIC EQAs arrived at the tail end of 2021. This video was done a couple of months before the 300 and 350 were officially announced but they are available to configure and order now. Take a look at the brochure here for all the spec and performance info: tools.mercedes-benz.co.uk/current/passenger-cars/e-brochures/eqa.pdf

    Can yoi do a video driving at 70mph and using hvac to see the affect on the battery

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's something that was due to appear in the second video but I had to cut it to keep the video short...ish. Something like this will feature in our next EQA video and there is a page which shows energy consumption for the trip within the EQ menu. Recently, I took one of these on my commute route which is 42.8 miles on the road and mostly motorway so averaging around 65 mph. Starting with the car plugged in, 100% charge and pre-enrty climate control activated my average consumption for the route was 3.1 miles per kWh and 95% of the energy used was for driving, 1% for HVAC and 4% for other consumers and I finished my trip on just over 80% charge. It'll be interesting to see the difference without using pre-entry climate for the same route.

    Will there be an electric a class in the future

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For now the compact EQ models will be SUVs - launching first with the new EQA and the EQB later this year. Right now, that's all we know but I'm sure there is a lot of research in future EQ models taking place right now.

    Do you know when they are going to release this in saloon or hatchback like the A250e models.

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's going to be a busy year for Mercedes-EQ! The first saloon - our flagship EQS is being unveiled this week! This will be followed up by the EQE executive saloon and EQB compact SUV later this year. For now, that's all we know. I'm sure that more compact EQ body styles are being researched in Stuttgart as we speak.

    The rear seets seems very uncomfortable due to the foot floor being so high.....

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Passengers slightly shorter than me should be comfortable in the rear - the seats themselves are supportive. The floor in the rear is raised to allow for the two-tier battery to be installed in the car.

    • @chrisah1
      @chrisah1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LandLAutomotive by supportive we mean rather firm? It would be impressive if Mercedes released some of the top buffer on this to dominate on the range front as you have to nurse it at 50mph in 20C+ sunny dry weather to get close to 400km. In my driving I found a renault ZE50 with 50Kw battery could outlast the 66.5Kw of this unit to the surprise of a local dealer. HOWEVER, the charging is top notch on this from the tests to date - truly superb and at the ix3 level - utterly top notch at this level and on par with the pricier ix3. Would have been nice to have acoustic glass or more soundproofing to really get a luxury feel rather than a sense of design compromises (e.g. raised floor, small boot, some of the materials) despite the 44k to 52K price tag. Also the cost cutting (e.g. electric front driver seat only with a pack) and the price hike for Keyless Go, Burmeister, Panoramic roof and 360degree camera is eyewatering so I can see how the 250 Sport will be the most promising. Driving assistance pack is good value for money. This is a tough one to love. It's not as good as the petrol GLA by a long way.....but i'll probably buy one anyway despite the compromises and the moaning haha. People should bear in mind that most electric incentives (congestion charge and road tax) will disappear by 2025 as they have to fill the fuel duty void. For me as of today an electric car will save about £600 year (tax, parking, fuel savings offset by increased insurance). So it makes the petrol GLA look even better value. My local substation is also likely to exceed capacity soon so we expect brownouts/blackouts with more car charging.

    Very helpful insight into the new EQA, thanks. Well done in your pronunciation of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch - a true Welshman?

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! My Nordic side helped there. It took a few attempts to nail the pronunciation but the double L sound is very similar to how it is in Icelandic. If you can say Eyjafjallajökull and Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch then there's no word that can't be mastered.
