Mercedes-Benz EQA - an overpriced electric crossover?

- This is the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQA. The EQA is based on the Mercedes GLA but it is a fully electric car. The EQA has a 66.5kWh battery pack which powers a single front motor. It produces 190hp and 375Nm of torque. As of today, only available as a front-wheel-drive option. The Mercedes EQA with a few nice options isn't cheap, so what will the verdict be?

Another superbly produced and presented video Anna. A point very well made about the car under review, it is a premium cross over not a full blown barge of a big SUV so comparisons should only be made with other cars in the same class. I have to agree that the missing adaptive cruise control seems like penny pinching on the side of Mercedes to squeeze a little bit more out of the potential buyer. At this price it should be standard on the range for safety (and wallet) reasons if nothing else. A big plus though is ignoring the current trends for terrible idea the slider touch items for general comfort and convenience.
I have been following you since the early days when you had Swiss in your name. You always have a slightly different perspective on car reviews. You are unique and you convey that so well in all your videos.

Very pretty car but I’m very hesitant buying any Electric vehicles it seems like Technology is progressing so fast they’re obsolete within a year .

Hi Anna, I'll try and keep my comment short but no promises. LOL. Another brilliant review as you always do. I kinda like the looks of the EQA. It's kinda like a mini EQC. I love those wheels they look awesome but classy like Mercedes always do. Love the purple interior lights that got going on, I guess that's to help you relax? I think I remember you really like purple because it a relaxing colour for you. Great looking interior, love the turbine air vents that Mercedes does. But I can't believe how rude Mercedes is to not answer you Anna when you only trying to demonstrate it function. LOL. Yeah I agree I would of thought they should have adaptive cruise control as it is a very handy especially on motorways. It must be quite cool with one foot driving with the car braking every time you put you foot of the excelerator. Good on you again in beating the 0-60 time again. Seems like you got the knack of it now. I've never driven an EV but I bet it's pretty awesome to feel that initial punch of torque. I love your expression when a car running through juice quickly "Sucking up like a Dyson" But if a car is very eco on its juice does it mean it sucking up like a Henry? apologise for the bad jokes. But I guess electric cars are always going to have that problems with extreme weathers hot or cold. How did I do with trying to keep my comment short? Yeah it could be shorter I guess. Hi Anna! I support you and what you do, I can not for the life of me stand to see if electric cars that I hate, do not think that an electric car is a real car. I love cars that rumble, I love the smell of gasoline and have it in my veins, as well as the smell of exhaust fumes. None of this has electric cars. They are soulless vehicles.

I’m afraid BEV battery range is a killer in countries like Australia. Sure, during the week you might commute up to 100 kms from home to work and back again, but weekends can see 200 km in a day. A bummer if running around for the kids, shopping and a BBQ will necessitate finding a fast charger handy. Good luck with that. 300km range no questions asked is the minimum for a suburban daily driver.
My EQA was built in January this year and it DOES have radar cruise control, aka Distronic. AMG pack and Vision pack were the only options I ticked. So I wonder if your test car was missing radar cruise control due to the chip shortage(?) EQAs ordered in Australia now don’t electric memory seats due to the chip shortage, which is a pity for new buyers.

It has to be said, for an EV SUV, it’s a bit of a looker, bit like the Sportivo, only less, er, daring.
This is a nice Model Y competitor, but it doesn't have the range. 😏
More manufacturers need to consider hybrids (like Toyota and Honda), and continue the EV R&D before jumping on the Tesla bandwagon. 🤔

Who ever came up with WLTP should be fired. Why can manufacturers not be required to publish real world figures form telemetry in customer cars instead of these pointless tests. Nice enough car or would be at around £40k max.
