Hey Dr. Coughlin! Great video! Learned a lot and your channel has a lot of potential. Would love to see more personal videos of "A day in the life of a Dentist" so those not familiar connect with you and those who want to pursue dentistry as a career get a really good idea of what life looks like. Again, great content!!
I have been to 3 different orthodontist. I get 3 different advices: 1. Do not get braces : gum is receeding 2. 12 months - $1400 after $1500 lifetime from insurance 3. 24-30 months - $2400 after $1500 lifetime from insurance How can I trust the timelime? What happens if I exceed the estimated time?
Thank you for the great video. I am working at an orthodontic office in Georgia. Our doctor is considering joining MetLife. It will be the first in-network insurance company for us. We having been out of network for all the insurance companies until now. I have couple of questions. If a patient with MetLife wants to get clear brackets, do you charge them for the upgrade and have the patient pay out of pocket for the upgrade? When $4700 is the allow max for ortho for MetLife, do you sometimes charge less than $4700 if the case is really simple? If so, do you add the clear bracket upgrade fee to the treatment fee before submitting the claim? For example, the treatment fee $4000 + $500 becomes $4500. We are trying to figure out what would be fair for patents and providers while following the in-network guidelines.
Hi Nathan, Great video, I have a question. Does the cost vary depending on how many teeth that needs to be aligned? like for say some would have just one misaligned teeth compared to other who have 10-11 misaligned. Also, can we book an appointment to discuss the cost, insurance options, estimated treatment time etc with the doctor in the beginning?
My braces cost like 4,000 idk how much but my dad had to pay 1,800 and my mom needs to pay 1,600 and she won’t. I’m suppose to get my braces on in 8 days but I won’t because she will not pay and she says she don’t have enough money but I know she does. 😔
@@soydan5057 Call your insurance specifically and ask what percent or amount they cover or your ortho office can ask your insurance for you. I went for my consult when I first looking into getting braces and they called our insurance then gave us our full estimate on what we would have to pay out of pocket
What I want to know is how come my braces in 2008 cost 4000 dollars for 2 years and currently as you have mentioned the prices have gone up? Why are the prices continuing to increase when there are many more options available now? I think it’s highway robbery to charge 6000 dollars for braces. For many that’s almost 20 percent of their yearly income for braces.
@@ThriveDentist yeah but the competition increased with the rise of online clear aligners, so how aren't orthodontists trying to get a more competitive price on their shit?
i don’t need braces badly but i want them just to get rid of those slaves between by teeth and the overlapping on the bottom teeth which really isn’t noticeable, how much do you think that will be dr?
Thanks. The cost is the biggest factor, and most orthodontists don't talk about it. Respect for giving us the true figures!

Hey Doc, wanna know what bottom braces cost for just a bit of crowding not severe.? Thanks 🙏
Is there interest on normal monthly payment plans (non care-credit), and if there is interest, how does it work.
Not at our office.

Hi Vinutha, Pricing typically varies per treatment time. At all of our offices we offer free consults so you are welcome to come in any time!

What’s a good dental insurance for a 19 year old? We had a a consultation with a orthodontist they recommended braces for 15 months for 5,700
One question which is cheaper because I want to get the cheapes braces and what the cheapest price?
Metal braces are always the most affordable. The price depends on the treatment time.
@@ThriveDentist thanks
Great video thank you learned a lot from it now I am not so worried about my consultation tomorrow.
This video was so helpful… unfortunately my insurance only covers $1000😓
Same ☹️
How can i check that if you dont mind sharing

Great question. Our overall braces costs have not gone up in 5 years but inflation has which means most things have gone up in price.

So tough to tell. I would just go get a complimentary exam at your local ortho office to get an exact number.

Hi Dr. Coughlin, i just wanna ask if the price for the metal braces is equivalent to other orthodontics, or is it different.
Metal braces are the most affordable of your options to move teeth!
2500 dollar braces is good. I’m doing a down payment of 104
That’s cheap is that in California?
U do that with the insurance?
Mine where 2,660 metal, no insurance, 1 year
Woah really I had mine a year and a half and paid about 7,500

I think braces are really cool 😎
Is it cheaper if I only do my top teeth? Because my bottom teeth are already straight.
Maybe a little but not much.
Very good video.
Thank you very much!
Can you get braces when you have a missing teeth?
Yup
My orthodontist offered me braces for almost $7000 thousand dollars, I wish I lived overseas to get them done dor no more than $600 dollars treatment.
I got clear aligners for $640

Hey, can I talk to you privately it’s dental related
You location please🙏🏻
So basically, insurance is a scam. Save money and pay out of pocket. 😭
I may have not done a good job at explaining but sometimes insurance can save you 1000s if you need braces or dental treatment.
@@ThriveDentist I was being sarcastic but sometimes it feels like insurance doesn't help as much as they say. 😭😭😭😭
I paid 7200.00 for braces
