March 24 update: I have still not received any refund or update from Radisson or Booking.com. I opened the case with booking.com the day I left the hotel on March 14, waited 5 business days as they said, never heard back, the case was closed, went on twitter for help, and just got this response: twitter.com/taylorwynn/status/1639257691767058432?s=20 It's not even about the monetary refund at this point but the morals of it all and being held accountable/responsible and owning up to your mistakes. Hundreds of 1 star google reviews are no longer showing up, so they're fully aware of the issue and are now even further actively ignoring it. I have heard nothing from them. I’ve tried to dispute the charge 3 times with chase, who says they need written approval from booking.com, which they won’t give because they’re waiting to hear from the hotel. Zero checks and balances here. Again, it’s not even about the refund at this point it’s about accountability and doing the right thing so something like this doesn’t happen again, which both booking, and the hotel are not doing. March 25 update: twitter.com/taylorwynn/status/1639649060972818432?s=46&t=FSOXdJOq-JidnyWanpRlGg March 30 update: It's now been over 5 days since I opened the case with corporate radisson (they said 3-5 days) and they still haven't heard anything back from the LHR hotel. Ridiculous.
i hate how people don’t take women’s fear and concern seriously. i’m sick of it. it’s 2023 and this shit still happens. i hope you’re able to get this resolved in some capacity
All of the reviews left on the hotel that mentioned you, your TH-cam channel, what happened, anything, have all been removed from their Google reviews. Are they allowed to do that?
Holy shit, I can't believe they just deleted hundreds of reviews. They normally get 1-3 reviews a day and respond directly to the negative ones. I went on yesterday when there were literally hundreds of reviews from your viewers (just hours after you posted this video). The fact that they went and deleted them all speaks volumes. In an attempt to not look bad, they made themselves look even sketchier. Shame on them
As a flight attendant that stays in hotels all over the world, situations like this are always on my mind. I'm sorry that you went through this. It's terrifying. You said you had nothing to use as a weapon, but as a combat instructor once told me: 'anything can be a weapon'. -A face full of boiling water from a tea kettle: weapon -Alcohol based hand sanitizer to the eyes: weapon -A free standing lamp, an iron (even better if it's hot), a metal comb with a sharp end, a metal nail file, your own nails and teeth: all weapons If you can open your window and scream for help, do it. Don't hesitate to cause a huge scene and don't be afraid to be as violent as possible and cause an intruder as much physical injury as possible. And ALWAYS have the number and address for your embassy in your phone. If your situation is that serious and you have exhausted all avenues of help, call your local embassy and report what is happening. Hopefully, they will be able to light a fire under the police and get you some help. And really, you should try to file a report of what happened with the American embassy in London anyway. Nothing may come of it, but you never know.
I’m legitimately wondering if the 3 guys who were supposedly on staff that night, were the ones doing it…just with the way that staffing was nowhere to be found, and the hotel completely dropped the ball on everything else afterwards too. So sketchy. Glad you’re safe!
I feel like you should contact the corporate office again and file a complaint. I was in total shock the whole time as you told this story! Especially about the complete negligence and unresponsiveness from the hotel. So glad you’re safe and sharing safety tips with others. Also, go Mark from Delta! Quality customer service 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Radisson needs to take notes
pls do! omgosh my stomach is in knots! That could have been SO SO much worse I am SO glad you are ok and you've gotten a locking device. I will never use a Radisson and will next use Delta for flights because of this. It just makes me think that hotel staff was working together and it is suspiciously too much like a trafficking thing due to you being a solo female and them having access to your info AND hotel room, who knows if they had your key to get in So grateful you are ok. and WTF Heathrow policing department, so it's just a normal Friday night for women to be harrassed and who knows what could have happened if they had gained access to your room!
@@chellecopley67 I mean seriously! The response from the emergency services seems like the attitude was call us back when you’ve been either assaulted or killed. Otherwise just a typical Friday night 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ It’s so pathetic how little concern is given to female safety.
NAME AND SHAME! Good for you. This is so so scary and unacceptable. It's even more horrifying that the staff didn't seem to care. I'm so glad you're okay. I can't even walk alone without feeling scared so I can't imagine traveling as much as you do.
I agree with this!! This is wild they did literally nothing!!!! They need to be held accountable. Her or someone else could have been murdered and they did absolutely nothing. You ALWAYS err on the side of caution when it comes to this stuff. Taylor should have called the police immediately. That's a break in with forced entry.
(I'm sure you meant well) I don't think it's helpful to say what she should've done. If someone in your life comes to you following a traumatic experience, I hope you'll be supportive vs. criticizing their choices under duress
@@63Lsp thank you for saying this. I’m sure their comment was not ill-intended, but it is important to be mindful of how we support one another after an event like this. It’s easy to do a “should’ve, would’ve, could’ve” after the fact or outside of the threatening situation when the body and brain is functioning normally. Our nervous systems act on perceived threat. It functions quickly and non-verbally unlike the other parts of our brain, so it can’t be reasoned with through words and acts very quickly in an effort to keep us alive. Most importantly, it did its job and was effective for Taylor. She did a great job fighting to keep herself safe. She is very brave and kind to share this experience in an effort to help others.
They have to be in on it. Trafficking is getting particularly bad lately because it's not just America suffering from inflation, and places like London were already expensive. It's worse everywhere, though.
This was so scary…. I am glad you’re ok… THANK YOU for disclosing the hotel chain’s name. The Radisson will never receive another dollar from me. At the very least, We deserve to feel safe when staying in a hotel room.
As a woman who travels alone quite often, I am absolutely floored by your story. You need to follow up with the Head Office. The safety of their guests has to be priority #1 and they were beyond negligent. I’m so glad you’re ok.
I'm so glad that you're okay. I worked for a large hotel chain for 6+ years and I have never heard of this kind of things happening, as in the staff being completely unreachable and security never showing up, but also that none of the managers knowing what happened, this is insane and extremely unacceptable. What complete and utter negligence of this hotel and their staff. I know you have said that you're okay, but I am still so sorry that you had to experience this.
Sketch, Double-Sketch. Literally a nightmare. I'm so flipping glad Taylor is OK. And I'm sorry but, "It's Friday night.. so yeah... we won't be coming out" New fear unlocked
I’m so glad, you are ok, Taylor ❤️ So sorry yoy had to experience all that!! But thank you so much for sharing this w us. We can’t be too trustful anywhere, usually if some thing seems to be wrong, it really is. And human traffiking is sadly also very real. Even worse was, how hotel & staff were totally unreachable, and how poorly they handled this situation! Good, that you shared the name of the hotel, because of all of this was totally insane and unacceptable!! I wish you & Rachel best time in beautiful Spain ❤🇪🇸
I'd like to know what the 3 people who were supposed to be on duty were actually doing! And yes, one has to wonder if the hotel staff is being paid off to turn a blind eye to trafficking. I find it very odd that no one was answering the phone for...how long? Several hours?
My heart was racing during the hotel story. Same thing happened to me at a vacation rental in Germany. A drunk guy came to my door at 11:30 at night saying my car was being broken into and he wanted to help me. I looked out the window and my car was there and no one was around. He got irate and violent and tried to break down the door. The important thing to note is these people will try to distract you to open the door. Never open the door, just like Taylor did not. I would hate to think what would happen if Taylor or myself opened the door. Taylor I am so sorry this happened. ❤
A small rubber door wedge can be enough to help prevent someone from opening a door easily. And as for weapons, I know it’s harder in different countries, but especially in North America the lid on the back of the toilet tank is usually removable and heavy enough to do some damage
The hotel lack of response or caring or follow up makes my blood boil and I am so glad you ended up putting their name out there because that's completely unexceptable.
Having heard this story I am extremely disappointed at the hotel, but also emergency services. I worked for servals years as a first responder - an EMT working 911 shifts - please feel ok to call- that dispatcher failed you- not ok. The hotel owes you a full refund and should discipline or fire that night staff. I’m so sorry this happened to you. ❤❤❤❤
To be honest, the person working at emergency services was probably just following their protocols. Doesn't make it right but it's more likely an issue with the procedures than the staff.
@@anatolia0222 I can’t speak to it being international but attempted break in is a safety risk that warrants police response especially with no response from hotel. I am not sure of course but I suspect they just were busy and didn’t take her seriously and if anything it may have been a breach of protocol- usually in a 911 contect you’re legally and protocol wise not supposed to talk someone out of care…
@@Dragonflyathena exactly my thoughts. Thank god the USA has the amazing police force that we have. They would've been at her door no questions asked in probably 15 minutes or less.
This, im a nurse and can't believe the emergency service just dismissed her. Where I live even if a call is placed by accident they are required to fallow up. So it sounds to me like everyone was aware of what is happening and not doing anything to prevent it. It is disgraceful. I would be reporting everyone involved.
LEAVING THEM A REVIEW You probably don’t want this done, but I am definitely going and leaving a review. This is so scary and disappointing of a company, I am so glad you are okay, just listening to your story I could feel your emotions. 💕🙏🏻
What’s the link? I couldn’t find the exact hotel. I want to review it too. This is dangerous, hoping reviews will help. Sounds like staff doesn’t care about safety
they seem to be deleting the reviews. FYI if you mention in a review that you saw a youtube video or are posting on behalf of someone else, I think this gives them justification to get the review removed (basically admitting you did not stay there). maybe consider something like tripadvisor instead? not sure all the different review policies.
My first thought about the guy at the front desk (who wasn't concerned)...what if a "group" just took over the front desk and you're not even talking to an actual employee!!?? Trafficking is very real. You did all the right things. So relieved that you're ok.❤
This is one of the best and most important videos you have ever made. Radisson owes you a massive apology, a full refund, and a significant settlement. We must withhold our business from companies that take our safety and satisfaction for granted. Similarly, I have never sought out Delta as an airline before but will now for my next trip. Mark, please Come forward and thank you for being such an amazingly humane employee. And women everywhere: demanding safety and service is not rude, it is your right. Hotels like Radisson risking our safety need to be sued. Stop putting up with substandard service. Taylor, thank you for warning women about these ruses. Sex trafficking, rape, abuse, kidnapping and more are far More frequent than reported. And if you have experienced hotels that ignore your safety or risk your health, speak up. Nothing will change without exposing companies who put women’s safety last. Thanks, and have a fabulous holiday!
That is so horrifying. Was it three men at the door? And there was supposed to be three men working but no one was answering…..? That’s extremely suspicious and seems like something coordinated from the staff, like you mentioned about trafficking cases. That is so horrific, I’m glad you’re okay and that you shared the hotel to warn people. Has corporate been more involved to investigate??
i just went and left a google review warning people of how dangerous this place is! Maybe corperate will do something if enough people leave a review about it.
I’m a flight attendant and had a similar situation it was very scary and the hotel manager did end up getting involved after we contacted him and he did an investigation and ended up firing two hotel staff so something was definitely going on. Please be vigilant at hotels!
Exactly what I was thinking. Definitely the staff - no one was answering and one didn't seem concerned when he answered. I bet security footage was checked and they saw them, therefore do not want to respond in any way. I really wish in a perfect world, a lawyer could represent Taylor and get a police order for the security footage. They knew a female, by herself, was in that room - they had access to the information for her. It makes the absolute most sense.
This was a roller coaster of emotions. From being so incredibly mad at the hotel situation to crying over Mark wishing Rachel a HBD. Also thank you for name dropping. Thank you for keeping women safe. I’m so sorry you went through this!
I came here to say the same thing! What a ride! 😭 I’m so glad everything worked out in the end and Taylor made it to my city current home city of Malaga! 😊
Guess Raddison didn’t realize they were dealing with someone with 878 thousand subscribers!! And good for Delta who are getting the thumbs up from all of us. Hope you left a Google review saying you would give them a negative 5 star review 🤬 Just so grateful you are safe Taylor 🙏🏼❣
i just went and left a google review warning people of how dangerous this place is! Maybe corperate will do something if enough people leave a review about it.
Oh man. This hotel story just brought back a memory of when I was staying at a hotel alone. Suddenly at 2am there was a slow steady knock at my door. I waited a few minutes and eventually got up to look in the peep hole since the knocking wasn’t stopping. The person had their hand over the peep hole so I couldn’t see out. So creepy. Thankfully I called the front desk and they responded right away. So glad you’re safe!
Listening to you retelling this story makes my heart break. I'm so sorry you experienced this and am so grateful to you for sharing your experience so others are aware that this could happen. Such smart thinking calling your parents and giving them specific instructions.
While she is at the beginning of telling us what happened, I am thinking “when is she going to say she called her parents”….. I bet they freaked out when a call came in from her at that time… I’m sure they know the time difference and keep in very close contact with her while she is traveling. So, so happy she is safe and sounding good.
What a horrendous situation and how disturbing that no one took this seriously at multiple levels. You did everything right and should be so proud of yourself for how you handled everything. No one knows how they would respond in a situation like that and you did amazingly well. Sending lots of love and stay safe out there, ladies!
Crime Junkie motto: We weird, be rude, stay alive! I also travel with a door stop alarm. Sorry this happened. Thanks for reporting it all. Like you said - it doesn’t (shouldn’t) matter WHY they’re trying to break into your room, just that they ARE.
I feel like nothing we do is safe though, ugh!!! I was rude and the man advanced at me and spit on me (I tried ignoring him, which apparently set him off). At this point, I carry gel pepper spray (bear spray is good too) everywhere.
Dude I’m literally shaking, not only is that terrifying and traumatizing, but it’s INFURIATING, I am so glad you’re ok. I felt so helpless listening to you say what was happening, I can’t even imagine how your parents felt. Thank you for speaking up about it because sometimes we forget that things like this can, and do happen..I’m guilty of thinking like that sometimes and this is a much needed reminder to be careful. On another note, that’s dope that Delta came thru, I can’t wait to see the Spain vlogs!
Omg I saw the title and my heart dropped. I’m so glad you’re safe! Edit: due to past incidents I’ve unfortunately lived through I highly recommend getting a birdie. It’s a high pitched alarm that you can attach to your bag, keys etc.
Saw the "scary hotel incident" and immediately had to click! Been waiting for this one! Glad you're ok!!! Edit: Before you even said anything about the one person you could reach from calling the hotel being so unphased by it all, I could feel it in my gut that this had to be all planned, hotel staff included. Again, so glad you're ok!
That was exactly what I felt in my gut also! The fact they just shrugged it off and then offered Taylor FREE FOOD! Get the hell outta here!!!! Also, them clearly being able to see she's traveling alone and mentioned 3 MEN breaking into her room late at night. That's such BS. I'm Glad you are ok Taylor and I'm so sorry this nightmare happened to you. Very Sad this is the kind of world we live in now a days.
I’m so sorry this happened. I appreciate that it seems like you weren’t going to throw the hotel under the bus while you were waiting to see how they were going to handle the incident but ultimately let us know the location so that we can avoid in our own travels. You handled everything so gracefully and should be proud 🙂.
Yes, email the Radisson executives & outline everything in detail. Just a safety tip I learned business traveling - never respond through the door. They'll know you're alone if a man doesn't respond.
Oh my god, Taylor. Literally on the verge of tears hearing you tell this story. It’s horrible to think the hotel might be in on trafficking but honestly this sounds like exactly what was going on. I am so sorry this happened to you. Glad you’re ok ❤
Thank God you are okay ❤️ I find it suspicious that the night crew of three guys that were supposed to be working were not available and the happened to be 2-3 guys trying to break into your room! The whole management of that hotel should be ashamed and corporate should clean house and implement some safety protocols!
That was my first thought too! And I think the hotel managers not being able to tell her what happened is them protecting their employees. Fully knowing what was going on.
As someone who worked front desk at a large casino/resort for 6 years I am APPALLED. We were also a 24-hour hotel and find it baffling you called that many time and had trouble getting through to anyone. The lack of care and response to your situation is frightening and kind of suspicious. Not asking for ID when making a key is a huge no no to say the least. Thats a strict policy where I worked even if the guests got annoyed at us for asking we always did for thier safety! I am so sorry this happened and commend you for sharing which hotel it happened at. Absolutely ridiculous
I’m so glad you’re okay. And as another solo female traveler I appreciate you sharing and also telling us the specific hotel you were at so we all know to choose another option. this is not a situation that calls for being the bigger person or giving people the benefit of the doubt. It’s about what the peoples intentions were and what could have happened more than what actually did. Went ahead and left a review for the place too so people will be warned! I’m so glad you haven’t let it ruin your travel plans but instead used it as a learning experience of what safety stuff you’ll need just incase bc we’ve now seen hotels cannot be depended on , and also sharing with us too so we can too !
Me and my 13 year old daughter had a similar experience in Myrtle beach SC last summer. She’s still really traumatized by it. They were actually given a working key to our room and the girl at the front desk was definitely in on it. I ended up getting my stay for free however the vacation was ruined after that. It was a very scary experience.
Glad you are physically okay but know (from personal experience, unfortunately) the mental exhaustion and anxiety will take awhile to dissipate. I appreciate you sharing this experience and sharing the hotel name and location. This happens to women so often and the trafficking possibilities are insanely high. Anyway, with you in solidarity.
Thank goodness you are ok. As a mom of two adult daughters, I can only imagine how helpless your parents must have felt. You are definitely a smart, prepared traveller- thank goodness. Love and protection to you Taylor xx
Okayyyyyy yeah we all need to reach out to the Radisson corporate regarding the London location stat! 👏🏻😤 This is happening to who knows how many people, I can't imagine this is the first of it! I believe their staff is being paid off, or is simply incompetent. Not okay.
i just went and left a google review warning people of how dangerous this place is! Maybe corperate will do something if enough people leave a review about it...
PLEASE DO NOT POST TAYLOR'S NAME IN GOOGLE REVIEWS AT THIS HOTEL! If those men were to look at the reviews at this hotel, they could see her name, easily find her TH-cam video, and that could put her in danger now that her identity has been revealed. Whereas when this incident was happening, they didn't know who she was. Which means likely they would never see this video. However, now that multiple people are including her name in the reviews at this hotel, she could be sought out by these men. Please think twice before posting people's identities without their permission.
It's beyond unacceptable that the hotel was unresponsive (where the hell were the staff?! Or like you said we're they involved in something nefarious) and it's even more horrifying that the emergency line basically said "you're on your own". The whole situation must've been absolutely terrifying, I felt sick just listening to you explaining it all 🥺 I'm so glad you're okay ❤️
I’m so sorry this happened. To anyone travel solo, please look into safety options for the door. They make more secure locks. The hotel not helping at all is ridiculous. I hope they got the boot. I’m so thankful you’re okay and great job acting quickly. Stay safe everyone
Omg, Taylor! I am so glad you are okay and not discouraged by this horrible and traumatic experience! The lack of response or resolution from the hotel is just very suspicious to me. I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this (and excuse me if I'm in the wrong for implying this, I listened to this while at work so my focus wasn't 100%) but I am suspicious that maybe the men might have been the on-duty staff. It might be easy for them to figure out who was in what rooms and could scope out for a solo female traveler. It just does not sit right when I think about how there hasn't been any type of resolution to this event that it might be because the hotel could be in a lot of trouble if their staff is harrasing and terrorizing their guests. So to me, it feels like it's being swept under the rug. Overall, again I'm sorry you experienced this. On another note, thank you for sharing this too. I have been thinking of doing solo travel for some time. Years ago, I had been to Japan by myself on a research fellowship and I enjoyed it so much. But lately when I think about traveling again on my own, I'm really afraid. However, watching your travel vlogs, you give so much useful information in every single one that I'm looking into planning a trip for next year!
Wow. This is what horror movies are made of. When they call for help and literally NO ONE is available. So disgusting.. that could have ended so terribly. I cannot believe the lack of EMERGENCY help. So glad you're okay.
This is awful. I work in the hospitality industry and this is just crazy. You are a very brave strong person. Thanks for sharing this to make people aware of the dangers and I am so glad you are okay.
Girlll, that story is wilddd! I can’t believe there was no sense of urgency from anyone. I was in shock the whole time you were telling this, literally they didn’t do anything. But so glad your safe and your Spain trip still worked out and y’all got to have bestie time! Thanks for sharing all that, it’s definitely a lot going thru that solo but this definitely brought awareness around being prepared for potential scenarios!
Taylor thank you for being transparent and using your platform to tell this story and help keep others safe. I hope you feel safe on the rest of your travels. 🖤
You’re someone who I consider a hyper intelligent, experienced & aware traveler (and human in general) so, thank you for sharing your story for people who may not be on the same level just yet. Living in one of the biggest trafficking cities in the world, I’ve had many strange, scary encounters just like this. Always trust your gut, kids!
I’m so, so sorry this happened to you. The adrenaline rush is real, and it’s good that you’re so proactive and attentive. As someone who’s experienced this several times (and had men get in), I highly recommend taking a self-defense class, even if it’s just a one-time workshop. It can have such a huge mental impact, in addition to the obvious physical benefits. Stay safe!
Hi Taylor ! I’m so glad you’re ok. I have 2 daughters in their 20’s and this is great information to be aware of. Also WTF with this crap company and the horrible response from the police is appalling !
Taylor- Thank you so much for making this video. I watched it when you first released it, and it resonated with me because I travel all over the US on business, alone. Tonight, I find myself in the Westin in Greenville, South Carolina. Someone tried twice to get into my room. I immediately called the front desk, and within 1 minute, they had a hotel employee at my door. The front desk clerk had written an incorrect room number on this man’s key card. Your video absolutely contributed to my decision to call immediately. Thank you.
That is TERRIFYING! Thank you for sharing your story! Zebra makes stainless steel ballpoint pens that you can bring on planes. It could be used as a self-defense weapon if necessary. The toilet tank lid is heavy enough to use in case of emergency as well as spraying any aerosol that you have with you into their eyes. It really sucks that us as women have to be prepared for things like this. I hope that all of that stress didn't cause a migraine to flare up. Sending you happy healthy thoughts ❤
Those are good ideas. Against 3 men though, I fear not enough, she needed actual security or police help. Non-responsive hotel management is very very shady. I think this has happened before and will happen again.
taylor, i'm glad you mentioned the hotel chain where all of this happened. i am about to do my first ever solo travel to a different country and i will surely note not to book that hotel chain ever. i wouldnt feel safe whatsoever. i myself work at a hotel and the fact that no one was available to assist you is insane in my opinion. MAJOR red flag. thanks for sharing!! stay safe
As women, we should never worry about how it looks to worry about our safety. I would have called the police first, knowing about trafficking. As a mother, that would be the first thing I would tell my daughters to do in your situation. It would also be the first call I would have made if my daughters were in your shoes. So scary!
That is terrifying! I no longer hang the “do not disturb” tag on my hotel door because it does signal *someone* is staying in that room. It’s so sad that we need to do things like this, and it’s terrifying that you couldn’t get help when you truly needed it. I’m glad you’re okay!
I live alone, but when I hear a scary noise I tend to call out to my nonexistent husband, “John, go down and see what that is”. If I were in that hotel I’d have yelled “Hey my husbands trying to sleep, and he’s a cop” or something ridiculous like that! I’m so mad this happened to you.
Yeah I was going to suggest having any man she knows sending her voicenotes / recordings going "who is it?", "you got the wrong room" or "I'm calling the police" etc so they can be played instead of letting on it's a solo female in the room. Hopefully there won't be next time though 🤞
As an attorney, I’m proud of you for declining the offer! It sounded so hard to do, but you have to protect your interests. Thank you for spreading awareness about taking due diligence in reading and fully understanding the terms of contracts, and the implications of those terms, before signing them! 👏🏼👏🏼
This is shocking !!! My husband works for Marriott, well a sheraton grand, Marriott owns everything. They have so much training just to deal with exactly this. My husband is the executive chef and I mean everyone is trained to help in a situation like this. Everyone has to take this training. They have so much training in hotels . They also have cameras everywhere in the hotel. Hallways, coming out of elevators, even in back areas to protect employees. I’m so glad you are ok. Also ever in Seattle for thanksgiving, I can get you a tour for the huge gingerbread houses or if you come before and want to add a piece to them let me know. And I meant to comment last video but forgot, I watch you on my tv while I clean my house, thanks for always keeping me entertained while I do chores. Have you tried or thought about the L’Oréal hi lift hair dyes. I had dyed my hair black wore it for a few weeks and then had regrets. If you only want to go back to brown they have a whole line of hi lift hair dyes and they work!! They actually got my hair lighter than I wanted, which was fine. I waited a few days and then dyed it a drop darker. Just a suggestion, I think everyone’s hair is different. So glad you are safe !!! I’m still shocked at the hotels behavior !!! Most big hotels have daily morning meetings and they normally talk about first complaints and how to fix them. And if there is emergency with a guest everyone’s phone normally gets notified. I’m shocked!!
I’ve worked at an independent hotel for 10 years and we take this kind of thing VERY seriously so I was just sitting here with my jaw to the floor listening to Taylor’s story
Taylor I am SO FREAKING MAD for you. That story made me 100% irate. I was literally shaking just listening to you tell the story. I’ve been single for 5 years living alone and had a similar situation at my home (a small house in a small town) once. It was so terrifying. Im just so sorry you went through that.
Ahhh I’m so sorry Taylor! I’m so glad you’re ok! That’s incredibly scary. I used to work at a hotel and my ass would be fired if I ignored 50+ phone calls that’s insane. The reactions from the managers only make me think that it was their staff doing that and they were protecting them. That’s why it makes sense they didn’t answer the phone and would’ve had easy access to a room key. And it’s so annoying to hear they didn’t ask for confirmation or anything to re-issue your room key. We always had to ask for id. I’m so sorry and SO happy you’re ok and got your trip with your friend fixed!
I’m so sorry you went through this. These situations are so scary. Just remember that ANYTHING can be a weapon throw an iron, lamp, phone, or whatever you can find. It can be enough of a distraction for you to run then draw as much attention to yourself as possible if you don’t have to hide. Also, I love the elf sunscreen but I keep thinking it’s breaking me out too!
This absolutely breaks my heart, not only for you but for your parents. I have been a subbie of yours for many many years and am a much older lady than you, but still learn so much from you. I admire you and your drive and tenacity. As scary as this was and the fact you are able to share to warn others is so admirable. I found that UD powder at TJM or Marshall’s for $6.99 and I love it too. You are such a strong incredible beautiful human and I am so happy you are safe❤❤❤.
My goodness Taylor , I feel terribly sorry you had to go through this but I'm also very glad that you are now OK. Nothing about your whole situation is right and I'm very disappointed on both the hotel staff and and those emergency responders. This story of yours needs to go viral so it can help setting up some decent standards for both of these departments.
This is so scary! I had someone come into my room in the middle of the night once and thankfully it wasn't a situation like yours. Both parties were freaked out and the hotel took care of the situation right away. They refunded my room rate for the night because they felt so bad. I'm so sorry that this happened to you!
That was so scary, I had chills as you were talking. I'm glad it didn't end up being worse and you are ok. I'm also glad you shared what hotel it was - you have a lot of people viewing this video and we are all now aware how terrible that hotel is - hopefully others avoid staying there. They deserve to lose business after the way they handled that. Hell,, all of us should just leave a bad review for what you went through.
so glad you are okay!!! it is so sad in this day and age that as women we are still having to “check ourselves” in fear of looking like Karens when we are not safe in situations. you make decisions with the information you have and listen to your gut it’s normally right (unfortunately as women we’ve been conditioned to tamp it down for the sake of other’s comfort)….stay safe and fuck politeness! ❤
That was freaking scary to hear about let alone live through it! I was tearing up just thinking about what could have happened. I always say, when shit happens, it happens fast. I'm impressed that you're okay and haven't been scared away from solo travel. I'm sure your parents will have a different outlook on that though!! So happy to hear all is well for you. Stay safe out there!!
Thank you for sharing your story, my heart sank and I cried the whole time you were telling it. I couldn't even imagine feeling helpless and no one coming to help you and also being your parents and knowing there was nothing they could do to help you, either. This hotel, no matter where they are located will never get a dime from me or my friends and family. It is completely unacepptable for them to do this and not be there to support and help on of their patrons. I am also sorry that your dream job/trip didn't work out, but, you and Rach will have such an amazing time and make memories that will last a life time.
You should 100% contact the head office/CEO/whomever is the highest and file a complaint. This is absolutely unacceptable. This should not go away silently. Who knows what they could have done to you, what they have done in the past, or what they will do in the future. The fact there is nobody listening to you or giving a shit, says there is more shady stuff happening. And deleting the reviews.... Wow. Absolutely horrifying. You literally have grounds to sue them for emotional and mental trauma. Do not let this go. You have our support! ❤
I know you intended this story as a PSA and it was a brilliant one. It adds one more layer of knowing, anticipating and then protecting yourself on the off chance. Good job.
Holy crap woman! So glad you’re okay! This is why it’s so important that travellers like you give this kind of information so others know what to do. Thank you!
I cannot tell you HOW fast I would have checked out of that hotel. What a nightmare. You can never be too careful. I understand what you said about balancing the shout vs shock syndrome essentially for a woman but it was three vs. one...I'm glad you are okay and such a strong thinker in emergencies without panicking. You did everything right.
I am so sorry this happened to you!! I can’t believe the unresponsiveness and irresponsibility of that hotel! I hope you put in writing this entire experience and share with corporate and the hotel location. That is shameful they didn’t help you. Minimally they owe you a refund of your total bill and an apology!!
OMG!!! You poor thing. What happened to you is so terrifying! Thank God you are a smart experienced traveler bc those guys had nothing good in store for you even if they weren't traffickers. Thank you for sharing this with us. It's a chilling but necessary reminder to women that we have to be really careful. So glad you are ok.
It made me so sad hearing about how you went through this and how scary it must have been for you!! You definitely had me on the edge of my seat. My heart sank at the thought of something terrible happening to you. Thank God that you listened to your gut and did everything to stay safe. Thank you for sharing with us so that we can know what’s going on with you and also to be on guard while traveling. You will be in my prayers as you continue to process this! I hope your travels are so so fun❤️❤️
That is beyond terrifying and so frustrating that there was no response at all that night and no meaningful resolution. Thank you for sharing the hotel because they need to be avoided. So glad you’re ok!!!
Holy crap!! That is absolutely scary! It definitely seems like the worker from the hotel was in on it. I am glad you are safe now. Stay safe while traveling, and definitely be aware of your surroundings. Mark is a gem. Enjoy Spain! Happy Birthday, Rach!!!
Hearing your story and all I can think is the staff was in on what was happening! They either knew what was happening or they were participating in it! I’m so glad your ok! ❤
I almost cried hearing what you went through. Virtually sending you a giant bear hug Taylor. I’m appalled at how things were handled by the hotel, shame on every single person on staff. I hope they get incurable crabs. Anything you can do, no matter how excessive, to protect yourself you should do. Stay safe, glad everything worked out with Rach, enjoy life.
After seeing your IG post, I immediately ordered the lock guard from Amazon. So glad you're ok. Thank you for sharing the good, the bad and the ugly with us.
SO GLAD YOU SURVIVED YOUR ORDEAL!! No one, female or male, should have to deal with potential criminals, negligent staff AND negligent police/country public security. You did everything right given your circumstances!! I was held by gunpoint, at a job years ago, so I can relate to your mind having that ever brief brain freeze. Mine was about 3 seconds, then all my smarts kicked in. I was the only business employee who did everything right by protocol standards. My manager, supervisor and coworkers, who all had more tenure than me, failed on multiple points. It worked for me that I assumed a worse case scenario would happen when I was hired, and I had to READ PAPER RESOURCES to educate myself (this happened in the early 80s, so no cell phone / internet / computer references available. BTW, I gave such an accurate report of the criminal - physical aspects, weapon used, and even his voice, the cops caught him 3 days later. Folks proactive preparedness, in all facets of your life, CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE!
I just saw this too recently, if you have nothing to defend yourself with you can always grab the toilet tank lid if there is one. I'm so glad you're safe now!
Thank you for naming the hotel. I often stay at airport hotels and I will avoid this chain from now on. I am so sorry this happened to you and am so grateful you are safe. The response by the hotel and police is unacceptable.
Ok. We know you're ok now. But as I'm watching this I'm your parents. You're my adult daughter. I'm full of anxiety and hyperventilating over it all. No response or an uncaring response from the hotel staff and even the police is unacceptable! This was most definitely very scary! I'm so thankful you're safe and out of there!
Holy sh*t! That’s terrifying. I’m so sorry you went through all that but I’m glad you’re ok and still doing the travel thing! Thank you sharing and giving advise. We appreciate you! ❤ Edited to add: I’d have been bawling when Mark sent that message! How awesome of him. So glad you guys get to enjoy this trip.
I'm anxious just hearing about this situation. You are totally valid in feeling like you were in danger and that hotel and emergency response were completely in the wrong. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Side note hair spray makes a really good dupe for pepper spray
You are a very smart, calm, rational, well-versed person. I am so glad you are safe and that you were so smart about everything. It’s terrifying. You handled it well and I appreciate you telling this story and including your tips.
I am so incredibly sorry that you had such a terrifying experience. It is so incomprehensibly unacceptable how the hotel AND the police handled the situation. I've heard and seen some pretty horrific things go down in London; probably the country I was least comfortable visiting. I hope you're doing okay; talking to your parents was solid thinking. You shouldn't have to this, but suing might be a good option. I wish you all the best
Goodness as a former front desk hotel employee this is ridiculous!! In my former hotels, the night staff would be fired and you NEVER give a key without checking ID. I’d definitely keep bugging corporate until they do something. And blast your experience everywhere.
I am so relieved to hear you are okay. You are correct, human trafficking is a very REAL concern. The hotel’s apathy is pathetic and absolutely unacceptable. Thank you for sharing your story!!!
WOW, the highs and lows in this one get ready with me had me on an emotional rollercoaster. What you went through at that hotel sounds straight out of a horror movie and I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Thanks for sharing. I feel like we rarely hear first hand accounts of things like this so it's easy to think it won't happen to us.
March 24 update: I have still not received any refund or update from Radisson or Booking.com. I opened the case with booking.com the day I left the hotel on March 14, waited 5 business days as they said, never heard back, the case was closed, went on twitter for help, and just got this response: twitter.com/taylorwynn/status/1639257691767058432?s=20
It's not even about the monetary refund at this point but the morals of it all and being held accountable/responsible and owning up to your mistakes.
March 25 update: twitter.com/taylorwynn/status/1639649060972818432?s=46&t=FSOXdJOq-JidnyWanpRlGg
March 30 update: It's now been over 5 days since I opened the case with corporate radisson (they said 3-5 days) and they still haven't heard anything back from the LHR hotel. Ridiculous.
Tell them to watch your TH-cam video, you’re through explaining. That is a total BS response.
i hate how people don’t take women’s fear and concern seriously. i’m sick of it. it’s 2023 and this shit still happens. i hope you’re able to get this resolved in some capacity
All of the reviews left on the hotel that mentioned you, your TH-cam channel, what happened, anything, have all been removed from their Google reviews. Are they allowed to do that?
@@Lethalin Having three people attempting to break into your room is scary for a man as well.
-A face full of boiling water from a tea kettle: weapon
-Alcohol based hand sanitizer to the eyes: weapon
-A free standing lamp, an iron (even better if it's hot), a metal comb with a sharp end, a metal nail file, your own nails and teeth: all weapons
If you can open your window and scream for help, do it.
Great idea about having the embassy info!!!!!!
Thumbs up, ty for sharing this!!
I totally agree! Don’t forget about the top/lid of the toilet! Heavy but can definitely do some damage
@@laurenrivera9473 omg another great idea!!!!!
Thank you for sharing
I’m legitimately wondering if the 3 guys who were supposedly on staff that night, were the ones doing it…just with the way that staffing was nowhere to be found, and the hotel completely dropped the ball on everything else afterwards too. So sketchy. Glad you’re safe!
I wondered the exact same thing. Must be the mom in me.❤
Same here! I kept thinking this the whole time during the video because they would know which room she was in AND have access! So scary!
Only surveillance cameras could prove me wrong about this exact thought.
Esp weird the managers didn't get back to her Abt it, extra suspish if it were their employees
This. Sounds like the night staff got drunk and decided to have some fun with the female guests. Not okay.
Tweet at them. Then, they will actually do something. Unfortunately, a lot of corporations do not care unless the criticism is public.
@@bysarahalexander4426 imma old lady I don't have twitter anymore but will do facebook and instagram.
@@chellecopley67 My blood pressure went up hearing this story. So scary and I glad she is safe.
And how about the Police's response? It's a busy Friday so, yeah, you're on your own.. Like What? New fear unlocked
They have to be in on it. Trafficking is getting particularly bad lately because it's not just America suffering from inflation, and places like London were already expensive. It's worse everywhere, though.
Just checked the hotels reviews and I am so proud of our community doing their best to warn other women to not stay there.
It looks like they are deleting reviews!
Which hotel is this?? 😱
They are deleting them! So shady
Yeah, Google will delete most of them. :/ When a business gets a ton of negative reviews at once Google will treat them like they're under attack.
Accidentally left a review on my local radisson lololol oops
I’m so glad, you are ok, Taylor ❤️
So sorry yoy had to experience all that!!
Watch: "Human Trafficking Awareness at Airports"
I'd like to know what the 3 people who were supposed to be on duty were actually doing! And yes, one has to wonder if the hotel staff is being paid off to turn a blind eye to trafficking. I find it very odd that no one was answering the phone for...how long? Several hours?
@@20thcenturyrelic I think the 3 guys who were supposed to be working were the scary drunk people trying to break down the door.
Be rude, be weird, stay alive! Doesn’t matter if it’s excessive, your safety matters most!

Exactly!!!!
What country was this in? It’s unbelievable that the cops didn’t do anything!
@@Jo-bu2vu London England
My fellow crime junkie
The hotel removed the majority of bad reviews submitted yesterday. If that doesn't scream guilty I don't know what does 🤔
A small rubber door wedge can be enough to help prevent someone from opening a door easily. And as for weapons, I know it’s harder in different countries, but especially in North America the lid on the back of the toilet tank is usually removable and heavy enough to do some damage
Never would have thought of that! Brilliant
Get one with an alarm. If door cracks open and jams the doorstop, alarm goes off. Great for sleeping in case someone with key comes in.
Just ordered me a set.
@@sydneyw8834 Highly depends on the area, that's not the case everywhere.
This, im a nurse and can't believe the emergency service just dismissed her. Where I live even if a call is placed by accident they are required to fallow up. So it sounds to me like everyone was aware of what is happening and not doing anything to prevent it. It is disgraceful. I would be reporting everyone involved.
LEAVING THEM A REVIEW
You probably don’t want this done, but I am definitely going and leaving a review.
Done!!!
Same!! That’s the only thing that will get their attention which is a shame because otherwise they’d probably continue to ignore the situation.
they seem to be deleting the reviews. FYI if you mention in a review that you saw a youtube video or are posting on behalf of someone else, I think this gives them justification to get the review removed (basically admitting you did not stay there). maybe consider something like tripadvisor instead? not sure all the different review policies.
What a scary ordeal! And to think how unhelpful the hotel was is shocking. Please stay safe.
My first thought about the guy at the front desk (who wasn't concerned)...what if a "group" just took over the front desk and you're not even talking to an actual employee!!?? Trafficking is very real. You did all the right things. So relieved that you're ok.❤
I agree, sex trafficking makes billions of dollars a year. It is insidious. Taylor is very lucky but she was also smart.
yeah I suspect that loser might have been in on it.
@@denisebellanich7938 they bribe people and pay people off. Sometimes they use the hotel staff to scout for them. Very dangerous.
I had the same thought, especially since she mentioned that sometimes the hotel staff are in on it.
It's so evil. All you ladies, always keep your head on a swivel. Even at freaking Wal-mart in your local town. Be safe.❤️
This is one of the best and most important videos you have ever made. Radisson owes you a massive apology, a full refund, and a significant settlement. We must withhold our business from companies that take our safety and satisfaction for granted. Similarly, I have never sought out Delta as an airline before but will now for my next trip. Mark, please
Come forward and thank you for being such an amazingly humane employee. And women everywhere:
demanding safety and service is not rude, it is your right. Hotels like Radisson risking our safety
need to be sued. Stop putting up with substandard service. Taylor, thank you for warning women about these ruses. Sex trafficking, rape, abuse, kidnapping and more are far
More frequent than reported.
This is a great idea! I will do the same
Seriously!! Also Taylor said she thought they might’ve had a room key because the deadbolt was the only thing keeping the door shut. So scary :(
Exactly what I was thinking.

As an attorney, I am so proud of you! It is worth every penny to make sure you have someone to represent your interests in legal contracts!
I am so happy you’re ok. That is crazy the amount of no communication on the hotel’s part. Police definitely should have sent SOMEONE to check it out.
Yeah you wonder why there’s so much sex trafficking with children and women.. They’re all involved
YES, YES & YES!! I travel a ton for work and so many women worry about not being rude and that is what could save your life!!! Such good advice!
Most of the five star reviews for the hotel were left by men. That’s a red flag. Very important to tell these stories!! So glad you are okay.
Absolutely!!!!!!!!
Yes the staff had to have been involved. How scary for you Taylor. So happy your okay🙏🏻 this hotel needs to be investigated 🤨
Holy shit
That was exactly what I felt in my gut also! The fact they just shrugged it off and then offered Taylor FREE FOOD! Get the hell outta here!!!! Also, them clearly being able to see she's traveling alone and mentioned 3 MEN breaking into her room late at night. That's such BS. I'm Glad you are ok Taylor and I'm so sorry this nightmare happened to you. Very Sad this is the kind of world we live in now a days.
The fact that even corporate couldn’t get a hold of ANYONE in the hotel makes me think it’s scheduled/planned with the hotel/staff on duty that night.
I’m so sorry this happened. I appreciate that it seems like you weren’t going to throw the hotel under the bus while you were waiting to see how they were going to handle the incident but ultimately let us know the location so that we can avoid in our own travels. You handled everything so gracefully and should be proud 🙂.
That is so scary!! You should contact their corporate headquarters and make sure that hotel is dealt with. I’m so glad you’re okay!
If you can’t get corporate to do anything, alert the media.
My thoughts exactly! Absolutely unacceptable and they must be fired😢
Or leave them a 1 star google review so it drops there rating.
Or the staff WERE the three men at the door
PLEASE DO NOT POST TAYLOR'S NAME IN GOOGLE REVIEWS AT THIS HOTEL! If those men were to look at the reviews at this hotel, they could see her name, easily find her TH-cam video, and that could put her in danger now that her identity has been revealed. Whereas when this incident was happening, they didn't know who she was. Which means likely they would never see this video. However, now that multiple people are including her name in the reviews at this hotel, she could be sought out by these men. Please think twice before posting people's identities without their permission.
THANK YOU for shouting out great customer service 🎉👍🏾. It's SO good to hear about people who DO THEIR JOB with grace, kindness & understanding ✌🏾🥰
100% on this!
The story of Mark’s customer service, I kid you not, made me tear up. Gives hope that there are nice people in this world!
me too!! 🥹
Same!!!!!!!! 🥹
😮 I was looking into staying at that hotel. Thank you for sharing, I'm so sorry that happened to you. That's freaking ridiculous.
I think this has happened before and will happen again.
umm the toilet tank lid...brilliant and I would never have thought of that!
taylor, i'm glad you mentioned the hotel chain where all of this happened. i am about to do my first ever solo travel to a different country and i will surely note not to book that hotel chain ever. i wouldnt feel safe whatsoever. i myself work at a hotel and the fact that no one was available to assist you is insane in my opinion.
Echoing off this, leaving a pair of size 12 men's work boots outside your door also is a deterent. Although that's hard to do while traveling!
Yeah I was going to suggest having any man she knows sending her voicenotes / recordings going "who is it?", "you got the wrong room" or "I'm calling the police" etc so they can be played instead of letting on it's a solo female in the room. Hopefully there won't be next time though 🤞
@@simbrini3004 Excellent idea!
Watch ""Sex Trafficking in America" (full documentary), "Secrets Of The Multi-Billion Dollar Human Trafficking"
@@violetviolet888 that's what I'm thinking too. I feel like they're covering up this situation because there's possibly more to it.
Great idea with the iron. Heavy and great to smash someone.
Yes, I would've been OUT of that hotel early the next morning. This whole story is beyond shocking.
Ohh that’s smart! Thanks!
I cannot imagine what her parents were going through :(
@@jillmorrison9883 Same
Holy sh*t! That’s terrifying. I’m so sorry you went through all that but I’m glad you’re ok and still doing the travel thing! Thank you sharing and giving advise. We appreciate you! ❤
Edited to add: I’d have been bawling when Mark sent that message!
Only with a lighter 😉🔥😂
@@Vonmacfire oh yes for sure
You are a very smart, calm, rational, well-versed person. I am so glad you are safe and that you were so smart about everything. It’s terrifying. You handled it well and I appreciate you telling this story and including your tips.
Please stay safe everyone 😮❤ your instincts are usually right, better be safe than sorry 😢♥ I'm so glad you're safe taylor 💝
I’m so glad you’ll be with your friend soon. It’s just good to have someone physically with you after something scary like that.
The anxiety of being in an unsafe situation comes rushing back hearing this story. It's so sad how common this stuff happens to us :(
I am so incredibly sorry that you had such a terrifying experience.
My Momma Bear kicked in Full force when I saw your IG post , so glad your ok and have made your self feel safer and secure .
