    I suggest you reach out to ASUS servicing centres and have a motherboard swap. The SD slot is likely fried. Given the retail batch might still have the dated motherboards. I had the same failures on my Jul23 Ally, I just did a service on it just recently. Hopefully, it last. Given I heard they mentioned they had worked on refitting their motherboards after those failures.

      Yeah I plan to do that this week but try Best Buy first. People were able to get the open boxes swap from a new unit in store after contacted them. If not, I will just send to Asus. The reader never worked on it, but because it was 512 nvme, I suspected maybe wrong partition format on the SD card until I found out about the issue.

    Hi. I already upgraded my ssd to 2TB. Just want to use my sd card slot for any media files but my sd card cannot read on my ally I tried and watch some youtube videos to go disk management and select disk partition but all greyed out i cannot select delete volume. when I watch your I thought I am only one exprience it so maybe an update for them to albe to use our sd card

      Hi, for what I saw on the web, it seem to be hardware base. Asus changed the fans curves in a firmware update but no more info since then. It seem that you need to send the console for repair if you have issues, or get it replace in store if you have that option. It seem the best practices from users from RogAlly on Reddit is to just ignore the SD card reader and get bigger NVME. Still annoying tho.
