Tiles is a board that your character is on. Nodes are where you character is standing on in the little circles. Enemies on other tiles (boards) are inactive until your character enters on that board, then everything on that tile suddenly aggros. @at0mic354
I had the original and sold it. Ultimately I dont like the stamina and health bar being the same track. I love dark souls and I just think that decision is stupid. I like all the other changes. I was hoping the health /stamina bar would change
I want to play this but the characters card are horrible, you don't have the cubes anymore? Those cardboard squares are going to break appart so soon or you doing to loose them. Who ideia was to have the value number in the cardboard squares itself. Is is hassle to upgrade stats... the cubes were shut a better option. I guess I would play this new core sets using the old characters cardboard style.
Hi, it is on the errara on the official website on page 2 (its the tomb of giants errata). The reason for it to be wrong is that push damage attacks (where you have the push icon with damage inside) require 0 range. Cheers
My question might seem dumb, but what happens if the skeliman starts its turn on the same node as the PC? does the PC still gets pushed? I find this a bit divisive in the forums and found nothing in the errata PDF. Some say its GG for the skeleton, but others say you get pushed, roll for defense, then get pushed again, rolling for defense once again.
@TabletopDuo The rule book stated you could only roll the number of dodge dice equal to the dodge values of the total of all your gear. Skeleton beast has 2 dodge value, but from what I can gather that doesn't mean you can roll 2 dodge die because of it, only if your equipment has a dodge value total of 2 or more. Starting equipment usually only has 1 dodge value total. Did I get that right?
Hi, when they say gear it includes any shield and weapons that have a dodge dice value. So if you have 2 dodge dice on your armor and one on the weapon, you would roll 3 dice. Then compare with the enemy dodge value and if its greater or equal, you successfully dodged. Cheers!

If necromancer performs the resurect action and in the closest node there are already 3 characters (1 player, 2 enemies), how is the action performed? Do you add the new skeleton on the node and move out the player or an enemy character? Also if you are at the same node with a character that performs push move towards you, how is the push move performed since you are on the same node with the character?
Hi, you add the new skeleton and decide which model to move away from the node (since there are 4 now and there should be a maximum of 3). Regarding the push, when the character starts the movement push behavior, you push your character from the node (just push, no damage) then once you set your character on an adjacent node, you start the monster movement push behavior moving it to your new characters node, pushing it again and dealing damage if its a push with damage. Cheers
@@TabletopDuo thank you, one more question as I don't think is clear. I have the lvl3 encounter Lakeview Refuge, which has 3 tiles and also has special rule onslaught, so all enemies are active from the start. Based on the rules. An attack or effect with ∞ (infinite range) can affect any model on the same tile, so this means that the enemies need to be on the same tile to attack you. Meele attacking enemies usually try to get closer to you, but range attacking enemies (archers) usually attack and then try to move away from you. So would archers have a weird behaviour of attacking a character 3 tiles away, fail the attack as is not possible, and then move back?
@@TabletopDuo Super helpful video =) Can I ask were you get this ruling "(just push, no damage)". Me and my wife were discussing how a exactly play this scenario, My take was to push the character on the same node and then move to the nearest character pushing again but doing damage on both occasions. My wifes take was to only push the character on the same node and not moving the enemy. Reading the rules both can be interpreted though I don't see where the no damage comes from. Could you point me in the right direction either where to see the ruling or whether this is a communal house rule etc..
I used to own an original core set, and this newer version fails to revitialise the combat portion of the game, which is at least 50% of what you are doing. It's good that they focus on positioning and your knowledge on your enemies' move sets. But the whole encounter mechanic systems is overwhelming, look at how many features are on the AI cards, it's more like a Drag Souls game. I bet they learnt a lot from making this game, now making Elden Ring:TBD, which the combat feels way smoother.
Everytime I want to replay any game, i just watch your videos as refreshers. Great explanation and nice illustrations. Keep it up my friend!
Thanks a lot!
Fantastic walkthrough!
Love the painting vids as well
Very thorough breakdown. I picked this up today and this was very helpful. I am not sure how I feel about the game yet. May grow on me as I learn.
Hello thanks for the video, expansions like explorers or iron keep are compatible with this new core set? Thanks
No problem! Unfortunatelly they are not at the moment. Cheers!
Hi I love the video;) I just missed one rule; what did you mean with active board tiles? Are enemys on additional tiles inactive?
Hi, yes they are inactive until you enter the other tile or the scenario rules say so. Once a tile is active, it will always be active. Cheers
Is the starting enemy spawn an inactive tile and can bosses not move until you have activated the tiles around them

9:47 why does the skeleton soldier moves diagonal instead of straight upwards?
So when enemy attack we dont have to choose to dodge or block? We do both at same time?
Hi, yes. Cheers!
I need this new version...NOW

Hi, so you can dodge and parry the same attack at the same time?? 🤔🤔
You roll the dice for both. If you pass the dodge roll, you dodged. Otherwise you count the block roll.
Lo bueno del traductor. Gracias
How do you know skeleton warriors attack range is wrong? It's the same in the rulebook and not listed as errata on official website.

I possess the first edition with some expansions. Are the expansions compatible with this one?
Hi, not yet. They plan releasing updated encounter cards that would help to do so. Cheers
@@TabletopDuo that would be perfect since the old core set is much better in terms of quality just looking at the character boards with the cubes.

What does the dodge value on armor/shields and maybe weapons mean?
Hi, we got you covered at 7:03. Cheers!

@TabletopDuo Exactly, okay thank you sir much appreciated. Great job explaining everything it was pretty daunting figuring this out.
