Kung-Fu Master: How far can I get on one credit

Kung-Fu Master was one of the first scrolling beat 'em up games in the arcades. I loved this game when it came out even though I was totally useless at it. Simple concept, punch or kick every enemy and defeat 5 bosses to win the game. Very hard to master as it has unusual controls, 2 buttons, 1 for punch, 1 for kick, in order to jump you have to press up on the joystick and its only 4-way. So have I got any better at this game?
I enjoy playing all the old retro arcade games and like to challenge myself to see how far I can get on one credit.

I think this game is really hard because of the timing and how close you need to be to the enemies, you have to be quick like this 10:05

If you walk straight into the first boss, he can't hit you without backing away first. Keep walking into him as he backs up. You can either get a hit in each time he moves back or back him to the staircase, step back then unleash kicks or punches 👍🏻

Morning Tony, yes the diagonal jump is doable with practice. If you can manage to reach floor 3 you can start that floor off with a flying kick if timed correctly. 👌

If you’ve got that little bit of input lag it’s gonna make the game a lot more difficult.
Shame about the diagonal because most bosses you can just jump into them first with a flying kick.
Nice to see again though Tony, I think it was the first scrolling beat em up.

This brings back great memories of going to the arcade in Southend with my brother. He was really good at this game and I'd be next to him playing Pac-Land or Marble Madness.
Kicks are definitely easier than punches just because you have more reach and less chance of them hugging you to death!

PAC-Land is one of my all time favourites. And the Southend Arcades is where I used to go too

Neither could I. A little bit of practice and it made a huge difference and helped getting used to the controls as well

When you get to the final boss, best way to beat him even with low energy is to keep rapidly alternate low and standing punches 👍🏻
