Hey mate. I was watching a TH-cam video on how to sharpen a knife if you haven't got a sharpener. Just use a china mug. At the bottom there is a rim that's not glazed, draw your knife across that bit and it will put an good edge on it. I have tried it and it works done a few knives today. Very good video as normal.
Hi Gareth, This one is a lot better than yesterdays pizza. 50p a bhaji burger that is a bargain that will go well a burger with mango chutney then the bhaji then a chicken quarter pounder and topped with curry ketchup. That is going on my shopping list. Thanks Gareth take care
And me. I usually buy Tesco brand, but these look better value. My local Tandoori serve onion bhajis the size of cricket balls, and one of the waiters told me it is because the Manager loves cricket (which he does).
You might think it's daft making a bhaji into a burger shape, but for some of us who don't eat meat..it makes a lot of sense! Thanks for the review, I'm off to Iceland for a sample 👍
Will definitely be after those, and not too bad a price as well. You chose well with Geeta's, imo, the best mango chutney. Great review, many thanks 😊👍
Your saving us a few bob not buying disgusting things, love the reactions and recommendations so far, keep up your good service. Maybe some of these companies should start sending food for review. I know vape companies and product companies do to other people.
Totally agree, I noticed that in a few of the more recent vids, it's great for ideas and inspiration. And the comments also seem to stay on topic so I can learn a lot from getting lots of different peoples ideas and recommendations. Not many channels on YT manage that in the comments sections.
Go out for curry fairly regularly, and whenever I try a new place i always try their onion bhajis for my starter. I find its a good benchmark of how good a curry house it is.
Tamarind sauce goes very well with onion bhaji's, samosas and pakoras. Health benefits of tamarind: A rich source of antioxidants. ... May have anticancer properties. ... May improve heart health and cholesterol. ... Offers liver protective benefits. ... Provides natural antimicrobial benefits. ... May offer anti-diabetic effects.
Hi Gareth ,i suspected that this might have been another rip off gimmick but it seems im proved wrong .looked very decent indeed .get yourself some nice sauce and off you go lol..keep up the spot on work Best wishes from Scotland .
Hi Gareth. If you like the Geeta's mango chutney, you should also try their "Premium Pomegranate and Mango" version. It's a bit different but equally delicious.
I'd give these a go but with one of Aldi's frozen Waygu burgers. However, here's the thing (as Adrian Monk used to say), why is there added sugar in there? Four grams of the stuff!? When my missus makes bhajis at home, does she add sugar? Does she buggery! Great video, as always.
They look good Gareth. I will have to try these. But they do look just like vegetable pakora's really...just with more onion in them to give them a Bahji taste. Iceland use to do some really nice Balti Beef Burgers..they were lovely. One suggestion I can make as you love a good curry (I do too) is Asda's Lamb Rogan Josh, supposed to be a meal for two...but that would be a small meal for two. It does not come with Rice...Just the Curry. But a bag of Tilda Basmati rice goes nice with it. The Curry is £4 though. But still cheaper than a takeout..even if you do have to buy the rice seperate. Some reviews say that the lamb can be a bit fatty...but lamb is a fatty meat anyway..and it adds to the flavour. I love it. I had it for my tea last night.. I have whats left for a small curry in the fridge. You can always bulk it out with some veg I expect, to make it a larger portion for two. Goes lovely too with onion Bahji's and Naan bread..or podadams
id love to work for Icelands Research and development/product development departments. I think they come up with these things whilst passing a joint round
At a food fair, I saw a burger van, and opted for a Balti Onion Bhaji with Paneer and chilli jelly. £4.50, but that was cheap compared to their same size beef burgers that were £8!!!!! They also did a battered mushroom burger, but I was full after the bhaji one.
They seemed to have gone down well. They looked good too, defo made for air frying. A simple thin flatbread, some raita, the mango chutney and some shredded cabbage and carrot would be nice, maybe a garlic sauce drizzle?. I look forward to your Iceland review of Southern Fried Chicken flavoured turkey goujon kebabs 😂😂😂
Lot of people joke about the Iceland stuff, they do tend to like a gimmick but this is certainly one of the decent ones. Myself, I actually fancy trying these with their lamb burgers! Along with a few sides/additions, that'd make quite the burger stack and combo well, I reckon.
I agree it’s a gimmick, and I can’t imagine it on a burger bun like the serving suggestion, but they actually look really nice, especially with the mango chutney, and the price is very reasonable. I love bhajis, so I will give these a try the next time I am in Iceland.
Interesting, could make an Indian inspired KFC tower burger with those. Garlic mayo on the bottom bun, salad, bhaji, tandoori or tikka chicken breast topped with mango chutney.
I watched a guy called Andy on TH-cam review these and he loved em. I don’t do Indian food so this is absolutely not for me but I like to watch these types of videos to see what others think
@@andywatts8654 oh, lots say they do taste Indian and to be honest, I can’t see it not tasting Indian. I’ve never tried them so I’m only going by what others say.
They look the part and they must be tasty you looked if you enjoyed that on the list for the next order with the grill house Kebab meat which is tasty as well from Iceland 👍
I’m a bit confused as to how I’d eat these. In a burger bun doesn’t appeal. I think definitely as a starter with a pickle tray. If they aren’t greasy would they work as party nibbles.
I don't think there is alot of potato flakes in the bhaji as it is listed after the cotton seed oil. We have bhajis 2-3 times a week, they are dead easy to make and so tasty, we get the gram flour /chickpea flour / besan from asda KTC Superfine Gram Flour 2kg £2.50. Plenty of recipes on youtube with a wide variations some just using plain flour and baking powder. Red onions normaly stated as the best for bhaji making, asda have JUST ESSENTIALS by ASDA Red Onions 1kg for 65p and they are what we use mostly if in stock, Finely sliced season and then we scrunch them up with our hands to help them break down quicker. And yes we use instant potato flakes in our recipe, not much just enough to be a binder, it can also be used to firm up your batter mix if you make it to sloppy. Do not let the fry oil get to hot if you choose that cooking method as the outside will burn before the inside is cooked, don't make the fritters to thick ethier an inch at most 3/4 of an inch is what we aim for when frying in ghee and sunflower oil. Make sure to choose the right recipe to match your preffered cooking method, airfryer needs to be a thicker consistency to be self supporting while the batter for oil frying is looser as it will seize when it hits the oil and hold it's shape. If we see these in iceland i'll grab acouple of boxes and give then a go. That being said home made bhajis freeze really well and re quick and easy to reheat. Take care, God bless one and all.
Thank you for the recipe, the Indian restaurants no longer seem to make the onion bhajis in the US,and our supermarkets haven’t caught on to Indian food yet.I think these would make a good sandwich on a bun, with coriander chutney, and lettuce, and tomato.
An idea I've got in my head is:...one of these onion bhajis between two thin minted lamb patties, with mint yoghurt and mango chutney, all between a pair of paratha's 😋
The question is how did school get through you 🤣. Come on its onion bhaji what's not to like and not a excessive price, some of these are going on the next list I reckon. Would go in the bun with maybe a bit of cheese but I love them just as they are. Nice one ty.
Love your videos. I am thinking of getting the same combination cooker that you have. Would you be able to cook them the same in that? You know the air fryer function?
When my Indian put up the price of the pickle tray to £3.95, my wife started taking a jar of mango chutney in her handbag and sneaking a few spoonfuls onto the plate when they weren't looking.
It do look good. Crispy and tasty. (Next potato scallops (sliced potato in crispy batter) which we used to get for an old penny from the chippy......😂)

The Geeta’s chutney is awesome, it has all sorts in it.

Whole spices including garlic cloves it’s the mutts nuts!!
