Sunset in the African bush - Nature and wildlife sounds

  • The sounds of the African savanna at dusk
    As the sun sets in the savanna, the soundscape changes dramatically. Lush birdsong fades away while the piercing calls of insects become louder. The transition is not instant though. This crepuscular shift is barely noticed when you're out in the field, aware of every little sound around you.
    An enhanced type of awareness takes place, potentially caused by being in a new environment, the danger from big mammals who come out at dusk, the beauty of the soundscape itself, and even an annoying fear of missing out on some interesting event. Being out in the savanna at dusk is simultaneously a very slow and quite a dynamic experience.
    Sit back, relax and immerse yourself in the sounds of the African bush at dusk. Don't think too much about what you're hearing. Take it all in and let it flow through your auditory cortex. Lastly, take a minute to check if this is a short video loop or a static image, and let me know what you think in the comments below. Enjoy!
    Recorded with Zoom F6 and Lom miikroUsi Pro microphones in South Luangwa NP. Enjoying the videos I upload on here? Feel free to support me by:

    Beautiful. It's little Miss Meyer's lullaby. 🦜
    It's a static image that comes to life if you look long enough.

    Loved it! (However the mosquito at 22:00 was a bit TOO close to reality; I found myself reflexively swatting at my headset. Haha.)

      Haha, I considered editing it out but I think it adds a lot to the experience 😌

    Totally immersive.
    Using the f6 as opposed to the mixpre. I thought the later was your favourite.
    This sounds perfect to my ears.

      My favourite would be the SD 833 but it’s huge, doesn’t take USB-C power and costs much more. Zoom F series and Mixpres are similar in terms of audio quality although their features differ slightly. They’re both excellent choices.

    Nice soundscape. Is there a video loop as no dramatic light changes to be seen within 67min?

    • @GeorgeVlad
      @GeorgeVlad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, that is a video loop but the audio is a long take and not looped.

      @@GeorgeVlad your one of the few not looping. Thanks for that. Keep up the good work.

    You make many of your recordings in southern Africa? Where was this one made specifically?

    • @GeorgeVlad
      @GeorgeVlad  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, and the info you're looking for is in the description.

    I was able to read the description you made of the Zoom F3, I wanted to ask you. What are the best parameters or settings to record with this recorder? Thank you

    • @GeorgeVlad
      @GeorgeVlad  ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no answer to that question as every situation and set of microphones you might use with the F3 requires different settings. I would suggest learning about digital audio and you will have your answers.
