    Everything is hooked and connected in my freezer but how do I turn on the ice maker feature. I don’t have these buttons up top but a button on the tray that I’ve pushed on couple times but still no ice.

    I have the same model RT18M6215SR and having issues defrosting. There's no such mode on this. I believe from the manual the only method to defrost is to take everything out and wait a few hours. Instead of doing that as I see that as ridiculous I instead changed the freezer into fridge mode and as a test will leave it like that for 4-5 hours just to see. If some ice can crack, dislodge and dissolve from off the components and the air ducts I'll be fine with that and redo this method at night time again another day till the freezer is back to normal if it returns that is. So after this test I am going to set it to Power Freeze.
    Also another thing to note I read the shortcoming if these type of fridges is suspectable and breaks down because of the ice maker. So imo it's best to turn it off especially if you are not using it at all.
    Here is also some maintenance tips you should know for this model.
    1) Make sure to use a broom of some type and move the fridge to expose the back. What you want to check is the flow of air being blown out of the machine isn't having issues with dry gunk on it. Sweep if it has collected some. Do this every 3-6 months to keep the air flowing.
    2) Another tip is resetting the machine so the computer goes into factory settings. You do this by simply unplugging the plug of your fridge and wait 5-10 minutes to ensure it reboots into factory settings. Only do this if some issue arises.
    3a) Defrost your fridge around 3-6 months to prevent full ice build up in the vents and components especially if you use the Ice Maker. Methods to defrost is taking everything out and unplugging the power and waiting around a few hours as there's no defrost button till the ice melts off.
    3b) If this cannot be done set the Freezer into Fridge mode using the buttons on top by holding the Freezer button and see if the mode has completed it's task and decide when it's the right time to change back into Freezer mode you can also decide to also turn on Power Freeze mode which will increase temperature for up to 50 hours (according to the manual) or until you're satisfied the freezer is back to normal temps.

    Random question, I purchased Model #RT16A6195SR/AA which is very similar but smaller. The Samsung site made it seem that all I needed was to buy and install the icemaker which was not the case. Now I am in an endless loop trying to locate the waterline supply line, hose and assembly. Any idea where I can get this from?
    BTW, Samsung, JJ appliance and Samsung parts are no help what so ever.

    Random question if this is a RT21M6215SR (21.1 cu. ft.): What is the clearance between that right wall and your fridge? The install sheet says 3.75" needed to open door 90 degrees but I only have 3" of clearance. Seems like 3" would be enough but I don't want to have to bring it back to the store.

    • @PoolarityChannel
      @PoolarityChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best thing to do is go to a Home Depot and Lowe's and simulate that physically in person. Mine is 3.5", but it actually has a window sill blocking so I can only open the fridge 80 degrees, meaning that the bottom slide out try, barely opens up 5" for me to squeeze things in for use. Don't buy it and risk it, especially if you are in an Apartment building because the most frustrating part is waiting for delivery

    Does anyone know how the ice maker knows the bucket is full? Most have a lever that is lifted when the pile of ice gets too high, deactivating it. This one doe not. Any input much appreciated.

    • @puddincakes1005
      @puddincakes1005 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has a little lever that drops down and checks the level before it drops the ice in the bin.
