My favorite brand by far when it comes to home fragrance. In my living room I have the empire candles with the ottoman room spray. It creates the perfect balance. In my room I use the dada room spray. It creates a wonderful calm and refreshing scent. Highly recommended it.
Thank you so much for the recommendation! I came across this brand before but I will definitely pick one up now. I love when my place is in perfect balance; I think it is highly underestimated, how a scent can change an entire mood of a space.
I love luxury candles and always have several Oud Diptyque ones stocked. However, I have yet to leap to Cire Trudon's echelon of candle burning experience until recently. Your channel inspired me and I have purchased my first one, Cyrnos. Patiently waiting for it to arrive. Thank you for your dedication to creating such lovely content.
There’s an Australian landscape gardener with a line of four candles which are quite spectacular - Paul Bangay - since the pandemic I haven’t been able to get any. Other favourite is Cire Trudon. I’m loving Gloria at the moment.
I watched your candle care video the other day, thank you! I just received my first Cire Trudon, Cyrnos. I'm thinking of gifting one to my hard-to-buy-for mother-in-law for Christmas.
Finally someone talking about candles here. :-) Thank you so much for your input. I often lack info on how candles smell, burn, are they worth buying or not. My favourite brands so far are Amouage, Roja Dove (oriental smells), Parks (rose and patchouli). Disappointed with many more. Still waiting to burn Jayne Ormonde candle. I have never bought Cire Trudon, even though I know them and smell them when I visit niche perfumery shops here, in Poland. I must give them a chance :-) If they are better than Amouage or just even, then I'm in heaven. :-)
Thank you! :) I noticed the lack of videos on luxury candles when I wanted to learn more about them, so I decided to change that incase others are out there that needs this information. I'm so glad it is helping! :) Amouage is actually on my list for my next haul. I've been gravitating towards oriental smells this year so I will have to pick up a few candles from Roja Dove. You should definitely give Cire Trudon a try. Ernesto is by far one of the best scents they offer. Thanks for the suggestions! :)
Thank you for this articulate and succinct review/showcase. I am impressed with Cire Trudon and just like yourself, I've bought from candle brands that have really disappointed me so I'm always careful and do some research now to do my best to avoid buying a dud. The other brand that makes real powerhouse performers is Byredo. Aside from the strong warm throw, they burn BEAUTIFULLY, totally flat, no tunnelling and when you blow out the wick, you get a last 'puff' of the scent rather than that sulphurous burnt match smell ruining the fragrance in the room. Fantastic value. Thanks again for this short but lovely recommendation :). PS= YES! Bibliotheque is a long standing favourite of mine too!
Cire Trudon scents are often odd, originally formulated to cover up sweat and stink before the use of deodorant and daily bathing in the 17th & 18th centuries. Carrière Frères is another candle maker originally made in the same house as Cire Trudon. In 1884, the Carrière brothers bought Cire Trudon and modernized their own line of candles. My favorite candle is Carrière Frères Santalum Album, an impossible to find pure sandalwood scent. Another favorite is Le Labo Santal 26.
Nice video production. I actually learned something from your video. I'm a candle addict and read up on all the candles I purchase. I did not know I could resell my Trudon containers... As for my favorite Cire Trudon .... Abd El Kader is one of the best! I purchased it at Christmas so the container is red vs the usually green tint. I also love Ernesto and Spiritus Scanti. I have Positano (haven't burned yet) and I tried the MaduraÏ but it didn't have a very strong throw. I have a small Cyrnos and Solix Rex. The Rex has a wonderful cold throw and can't wait to try based on the backstory. If you like luxury candles with unique scents, I recommend Byredo. Next to Cire Trudon, Byredo scents are truly unique. I love them all and every one I have tried has a really nice strong throw EXCEPT Tree House and Woods. Nice scents but I can't smell them when burning. Hope you do more reviews!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Ernesto is also one of my faves! I was on the fence about trying Byredo, but with you high praises I now have the Loveless scent on order lol. I am interested to see how the the tuberose of the heart notes pairs against papyrus of the base. Tuberose if one of my all time favorite scent notes.
@@DetailedDream I can't wait for you to do the Byredo review. Loveless is one I have on backorder and I haven't tried yet. Several Byredo candles have been out of stock for MONTHS including my favorites. I'm subscribing to your channel to make sure I catch your next candle review!
Which byredo ones would you recommend? Also do you think byredo are better than the cire trudon candles? I haventvtried either but I wanna get my friend a candle or two as a gift
You should definitely take the leap. Depending on what notes you prefer I would recommend Cyrnos if you like earthy scents or Ernesto if you prefer a more woody citrus scent. Both are their best sellers so you wouldn't go wrong with either one when starting out. :)
My favourite from Cire Trudon is the Madurai (Jasmine) ❤ Have you tried Spiritus Sancti or the Giambattista Valli Rose Poivrée? You're lucky you have a store near you :)
The Madurai is truly amazing. Its on my list to pick up actually. I have both of the Giambattista candles; you just reminded me, i have to light the Rose Poivree soon lol. I haven't put my nose on Spiritus Santi yet. I will have to smell it the next time i'm in the store. Having a store near me is also bad luck, because I spend so much there lol.
@@DetailedDream hahaha I can imagine! I'm currently deciding between Josephine and the Giambattista Positano. I know you have reviewed Positano. How does it compare to Josephine? Which one do you think has the better hot throw? Thank you :)
I actually have both scents and they are AMAZING floral scented candles!! With Josephine, its very floral but has a hint of musk and spice to it that makes it a bit darker than the Positano, which is a more potent floral candle with the tuberose being the star note in my opinion. I will personally pick Positano everytime as it feels there is something very special about when i burn it; maybe it's the all white vessel lol.
@@DetailedDream Thank you, I love the look of Positano as well. I just found out there is a Cire Trudon store here in London so I'm hoping to visit during the weekend. I better keep my card locked away in a drawer or something lol
So agree with the Madurai lovers here!!! Simply the best jasmine candle scent on the planet, and the throw is astonishing. I’ve had a couple of Trudons with a weaker throw and MANY Byredo with a disappointing throw - but Trudon Madurai is unparalleled.
So I went to Harrods in London Friday with the purpose of picking one of these up. I smelt around 12 of them and I needed up buying Madeleine! Nice to see that we both like the same 😎😎
Great video. It's nice to see more people appreciate good quality home fragrances. I have tried many high end home fragrances over the years and Fornasetti and Cire Trudon are my favorites candle wise. For room sprays, which I prefer over candles, Diptyque and Voluspa are my favorites.
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed! Tons more videos coming on quality home fragrances. Im looking to pick up a couple more Fornasetti candles, but cant get away from Cire Trudon lol.
I’m hoping to find a Trudon I’d like. Finally smelled some in store and wasn’t impressed by what I had the chance to try. Could be older shelf examples but they were at least under glass covers.
I’m taking you recommendations I love light floral scents what would you recommend for my first Cire Trudon candle. I’m also interested in a very sophisticated scent.
Cire Trudon is definitely on the stronger side but they are so good! Madeleine is a really sophisticated scent with floral notes. Some other really great floral scents are, Joséphine and Spiritus Sancti. The Positsano and Rose Poivree scents are also good but very strong.
@@DetailedDream right?! also have you tried their reed diffusers? I live in a one bedroom also and I got mine yesterday in Josephine! its scenting my entire apartment with this gorgeous sweet soapy scent! not similar to it's candle version, but I prefer it
Lavender makes me so nauseous but I adore tobacco and leather. I love masculine leaning candles. Is the lavender well balanced or prominent? Your videos are some of my favorite on TH-cam. 😊
New fan here! May I ask your advice about candle smells like BALMORAL Mist soil and Meadows from Trudon?Did you ever tried yet?So sad they don't have a web for Canada! I would like to ask your suggestion for some candles smells like after rain, the grass and the soil in spring or summer time! Do you have any suggest please?
@@DetailedDream Don Giovanni has rose, patchouli, cedar and Amber. Flora has jasmine, tuberose and sandalwood. Bacio has oriental, leathery and woody. Foglie has bergamot, maquis, thyme, vetiver and labdanum. I think from the Cire Trudon fragrance you reviewed you might like one of these suggested above.
Try Forever Wick Candle CO. they have a real diamond inside... they smell amazing and are fun with that little beauty waiting for you to melt it out. Not advertising just sharing a brand I recently found and love.
After watching a couple of videos on what candles to look for I came across this one and got 3 little candles from TRUDON and they are amazing, but it took over 4 weeks to get them. How does this company make amazing candles but has terribly poor service? Should I just go through a bigger store instead of their website? Because after a week of ordering a candle and I don’t get an email saying it’s shipped or something is insane, and I paid extra for 2nd day shipping?
I bought this candle on this here recommendation. And as soon as i opened the box, i knew i had probably made a mistake. To me 😅 it smells like an older woman situation. Which isnt necessarily bad but be warned. 😅
@@DetailedDream Hi!I’ve read the FAQs at Cire Trudon’s website and it was stated there that they use a mixture of vegetable and paraffin wax. Is that okay? Planning to purchase one ☺️Thanks in advance!
Oh no. I've just read up on the stories behind each candle on the Cire Trudon website and am both disgusted and laughing at the same time at the unintentionally funny bad taste and absurdity of a luxury heritage house purveying high end candles deciding to release a tribute candle to Che Guevara. 'Ernesto'. Of all the people to pay homage to. I almost bought it until I read the story behind it. Ridiculous. I'll reconsider Cire Trudon as a option in the future if they replace or rename this poorly judged offering. This may sound quirkily hardline to some folks but I'm just tired of this sort of socio-political overreach and virtue signalling. The kind of people buying candles that retail at 100 quid are NOT the sort of people who have Che Guevara posters in their homes. Do me a favour.

Some of my favourite candles:
Cire Trudon Ernesto

Diptyque Noisetier
Lumira Cypres de Provence

That’s so true. When you try your first luxury candle you just can’t go back to the regular ones. Great review!

I like Hemlock Park candles with a wood wick. Blood orange sage is nice. It’s not strong and the sound of the wood crackling is awesome.

Ernesto is lovely. I was reading about Madeleine last night. Wish I knew I could have sold my old containers.
I'd avoid selling the empty glass if you're against counterfeiting because that is most likely what people are doing with those glasses.
That’s horrible, I’m using mine as a pen holder
Keep it and put a tea light candle in it or even a led tea light candle into it, effect guaranteed
So informative. Never knew this. So helpful.
