Such an epic title for a place. It contains so much meaning, so much history behind it. You always see Arthas as this Frostmourne wielding dark prince but the Halls Of Reflection shows the burdens he bear for the deeds that he did.
The whole chase sequence is incredible. The music makes it very tense and gives you this sense of urgency. It's completely brilliant. When the Lich King is behind you calmly saying "How long can you fight it?" gives me goosebumps every time.

Men..women...children..none were spared the master's pears...your pears will be no different...
I was actually just about to drop that comment when I saw yours :) I ran this dungeon so many times on my Shaman and I came out a much better healer than I was before. It was actually a great place to practice for the countless hours we spent i ICC. Aah the memories :)
I dont think I've been as excited over a game in years as I am for 3.3 and to reach the end of the trilogy. Checked out the new heroic on the PTR a few mins ago, and its amazing. the heroic actually bests all content I've ever seen in wow next to the death knight beginning quests.
I remember the day this instance was implemented...it was a horrible run of slaughtering and it took 2 days before I got a group that was capable of finishing it.
That's damn true. But that seems to be a thing soooo many villains make. They let the good guys live instead of just finishing them off. and in the end, they get pewned because of that.
A reminder to anyone interested: I have moved channels and you can now find me at PretentiousSloth, i have gotten into the WoD Beta and will be producing a few videos on the questlines found in the new zones without all the killing and collecting. Subscribe if you want to stay updated!
Not to mention a good Ret Paladin and a good Hunter were a prot warrior's best friends in this instance. I was on both ends of that arrangement (played a prot a warrior and a ret paladin >.>). HoR is basically how you should ALWAYS implement use of CC for trash pulls without the asinine thing about making it always required.
used to be the only challenging instance in wotlk. I loved it. And I ll never forget some of the accomplishments. This was the one instance to seperate the wheat from the chaff. Those big mouthes in raid gear *always* were a warrant to failure. The best teams I joined had mediocre gear but great attitude.
"You gave equally little justification for your opinion." You made the assertion, I just doubted it. But yeah, you're right. Sure they still have more subscribers than any MMO has ever dreamed off but Mr Expert over here surely knows best. *eyeroll*
tanking this place was a double edged sword for me, on the one hand, I got to test myself and my group, and enjoyed the challenge, however on the other I found out just how low the intelligence of the common PUG actually was...
This instance gave me nightmares when it was released, I swear. x__x It was practically impossible to complete it with a pug, and I almost wept even running it with guildies. I still don't like to go there, even though it's easily solo'd. Too many horrible memories.
this song makes me think of the 3 fate spinners of Greek mythology. the sharp high notes makes me think they are running the scissors across your life's thread (those are the moments you come close to death).
@MedievilDeathKnight He would've picked up the pace, but Jaina's magic was slowing him down by 75%. However, when she and the party get cornered, the magic wears off.
Indeed. It taught people to appreciate Ret Paladins and Repentance. My usual HoR runs as follows Warrior Tank: WTH hor fuk this Me: Dude chill. hey hunter, if a priest or rifleman pops trap them. I'll get the other Hunter: K. After escaping the Lich King Warrior Tank: That was the smoothest HoR run I've ever done... Me: Told ya :D
I don't really understand some people's hate for this dungeon. Sure it was pretty damn hard and pugs failed here left and right but it was still IMO one of the most epic 5 mans blizz has ever done (Along with pit of saron and soulforge). Plus the music is just excellent. My favorite part is the very creepy tune that plays at beginning of this vid, it just gives me chills whenever it plays. I think it was a small shame that it didn't play in Icc much.
As my paladin dps I used Turn Evil to mage caster or dwarf hunter before nuking Priest, most people must learn to CC again to avoid disapointments, Paladins and Priests can do it in this dungeon because ALL mobs here are UNDEAD!

I remember how people whined if I didn't tank in the corner... tanking in the center was easier on the healer because herpderp dps had more room to run out of bad...
