Wow this is awesome to see how genuine Tom is in such a small video. You think 2 minutes is short and why should he care. But he was great and gave you an experience in which you would have loved.
Older means less issues, less instability and less defiance. They want them to ACT like all of that but follow direction. Who the hell wants to deal with a teenager in a work setting like that. Too unstable and immature.
@@ddoubleu170 yeah, you're on the money here. i dont remember what the specific limit is (might be 8 hours max you can keep someone under 18 on set), but im sure someone here can google it / correct me if im wrong. the labor laws are different once you hit 18 / become a legal adult: then you're subject to long working hours. did a few paid acting gigs a little while back: the labor laws are why casting directors search for what they call 18 TPY (18 to play younger) (i.e. legal adults to play teens)

If I ever get the opportunity when there's more virtual cons, (the timing with the video chats is difficult, time differences) I'm gonna take a leaf out of your set up hehe, with my photos with him and stuff he signed on display. :)
Great video. He's will always be the image of Superman for me. We watched him go from a young man to a full adult man. Just a shame he didn't take up the movie mantle. Cavill comes in second to Welling.

To an extent, I agree, however I think Smallville was very much a part of his professional life. I can understand why he isn't too keen to watch hours and hours of what he considers his job. I wouldn't want to replay my 12 hour shifts, even the funniest stuff haha. However, the fact that he partakes in the fan expos and comic cons even now tells me that he does care about Smallville, Superman, and the fans. Otherwise he wouldn't do it :)

I always thought it was for labor law reasons. Children can’t film as long.
