I think it’s the fact Brok is given a oblivion instead of a afterlife that many cannot rap there minds around which frightens them so they have to lie to themselves into believing that he isn’t “truly” gone.
I think its because of the wording, Mimir implies that he is just a soul without a sense of direction. That makes it seem like he could technically still be found
If Brok is denied a afterlife then that means he just stops existing all together… that’s fascinating because Brok can neither rest in piece nor be in pain he just ceases to exist so there is nothing for him to “feel” or be “conscious” of since his been sent to the void.

Just the way Mimir's voice goes when he says "I promise you, we'd be doing it." Conveys not only how torn up Mimir is about it, but how willing he would have been to help Kratos and them do what Sindri once did.
Omg sindri isnt even aware of that. As brok was dying said “maybe if i go back to the lake of souls” and he definitely wasn’t talking about a single bit
When Odin stabbed Brok, I knew they would probably kill him off but even so I literally shouted “NO” At my screen when it happened. There are very few games that have been able to get me to do that
This part of the story is as phenomenal as it is tragic. Sindri will never see his brother again because of one shortsighted and selfish lapse of judgment. Atreus is shattered because he put too much trust and faith in the wrong person, losing someone he cared for as a result. Mimir is helpless to offer any solutions, because he knows the futility of trying. Advice was all he ever had left to give to the world. He can't even do that here. And Kratos sees the lies and carnage senselessly tearing up the people around him all over again.
Just because Odin wanted to know what happened to HIM. He kill killed brok. In that even if you revived his body it would just be a walking corpse. As mimir said. There's nothing TO bring back.
But Atreus has been getting really good at dealing with souls with his Giant magic. I’m really hoping there’s a side quest or even a main quest in Atreus’ solo game/dlc which they hinted, where we can find Brok’s missing soul pieces and unite them for Brok to find peace in his afterlife. It would be a beautiful redemption for Atreus and his official goodbye to Brok since he wasn’t at the funeral😢
Maybe there is a way for the soul to be reconstructed again, in Norse mythology a soul is made of four parts, sindri was only able to get three, but his soul of direction is still in the lake....perhaps there is some way for him to come back....maybe im only hoping a fools hope though....
So...Sindri just couldn't life on knowing that after his own death he would be reunited with Brok and been in afterlife with him, huh? I would understand his actions if there was nothing after death, but they have afterlife, so that makes Sindri the one really responsible for Brok's non-existence.
Hope is a razor blade. It can cut through every dark thought you’ve ever had, and give the sense that everything’s gonna be ok. It can also cut the last thread that’s holding you together once it slips from your grasp. Hope is a razor blade.
Saw a silly comic pic of a photo being taken with the message "He's back", showing a disgruntled Brok, hugged by an overjoyed Sindri. Suggestion being that since Broks soul has no direction, it just returned to where it left from.
You know what would be awesome? If his soul has lost the piece that guides it to the lake of souls, couldn’t the other pieces technically be wandering around aimlessly? Imagine you work together to build something that could draw all those pieces together and put his soul back together with an artificial “guide” part. Even if you can bring him back, at least being able to give him an afterlife.
yo Atreus remembers Kratos' lesson from GoW2018, where he told him to never have high hopes because it only leads to disappointment. here Atreus says it was stupid of him to hope
I have a feeling Atreus will learn some "giant stuff" and be able to find Brok's final soul piece. Its clear Atreus has a knack for soul magic. Who knows what he may learn in the next game.
I smell a fetch quest: fylgja is just to reach the light well, but wouldn't it be neat if each individual piece went to a place in Midgard or somewhere that was especially significant to that specific piece of his soul? And maybe his fylgja is just waiting in the well because without the other pieces it can't cross over?Gather them all together, bring it to the well, Sindri gets to forgive himself, and maybe in the first half of whatever sequel he's an enemy and then he sets things right? Here's hoping, I don't even play GoW I just watch shorts about the spoilers.
Atreus brought this up coz he was feeling guilty that he indirectly caused Brok's death by inviting Odin (whom he thought was Tyr unaware that he was disguised into his home). Plus Sindri's anger against him affected him.
That’s why he’s so mad at sindri about it. Sindri’s loneliness and selfishness prevents him from reaching the afterlife

Kratos sitting there like at one point he was literally too angry for the afterlife to keep him down
But Atreus has been getting really good at dealing with souls with his Giant magic.
Atreus should have bottled the other pieces of brok when he died so that he could revive him later.
@@SuPaF1SH I’m pretty sure you need all soul parts to store into the marbles
With all these different mythologies clashing as they are one could imagine there would be a purgatory somewhere
Thats probably why sindri is so upset, his brother can't go full circle in life and death. He is in a limbo.
Pandoras words be making waves in my head wnen atreus said it was stupid of him to hope. Hope is all you have now bro.
They need to make a dlc completely revolved around reuniting Brok's soul pieces so that he can have his afterlife.
FYI Baer, the Shambler heals when one of the tentacles use Wriggling Feast on a combo’d hero.
Can’t believe sindri brought him back knowing there’s a afterlife. Bro just wait
Sindri knows he'll never see Brok ever again even in death
That last line definitely hits way harder with full context
I love sled talk
Whatever existence Odin endures at this time…I hope every ounce of what’s LEFT of him…is SCREAMING.
Holding ur hope means ur loves too great
Hope is what makes us stronger, it is why we are here! It is what we fight for when all is lost. 😢
~Pandora from God Of War 3
kukri look like if navaja and bowie had a baby
Maybe there is a way for the soul to be reconstructed again, in Norse mythology a soul is made of four parts, sindri was only able to get three, but his soul of direction is still in the lake....perhaps there is some way for him to come back....maybe im only hoping a fools hope though....
The absolute desperation in mimirs voice. He's racking his mind trying to think of something anything. And he can't.
So...Sindri just couldn't life on knowing that after his own death he would be reunited with Brok and been in afterlife with him, huh? I would understand his actions if there was nothing after death, but they have afterlife, so that makes Sindri the one really responsible for Brok's non-existence.
If a Side Mission was abled to Be Created Through DLC We could Hear Brok's Last Words with Kratos and Sindri
Hope is a razor blade.
It can cut through every dark thought you’ve ever had, and give the sense that everything’s gonna be ok.
It can also cut the last thread that’s holding you together once it slips from your grasp.
Hope is a razor blade.
Sindri ultimately kept his brother from reaching the afterlife…
Saw a silly comic pic of a photo being taken with the message "He's back", showing a disgruntled Brok, hugged by an overjoyed Sindri.
Suggestion being that since Broks soul has no direction, it just returned to where it left from.
Hope is what makes us strong
It is why we are here
“May this weapon strike true. May it be wielded with wisdom. May it be put down when its job is done.” -Brokkr Huldra
Atreus:it was stupid to hope
kratos having the power of hope:lolll
Now this is a fate worst than death!
“With a soul missi-“
“HAH!”
Three of them feel guilty about it.
Atreus brought this up coz he was feeling guilty that he indirectly caused Brok's death by inviting Odin (whom he thought was Tyr unaware that he was disguised into his home). Plus Sindri's anger against him affected him.
If there is a solo Atreus game I want a section of the game where Atreus finds the missing piece of Brok's soul so Brok can cross over.
Hope is the fire that burn bright. only a fool dares to hope when the odds are impossible. only a fool can defy the odds. be foolish
This was an extra twist of the knife that wasn't needed 😞
Technically they could go back in time to stop sindri from bringing Brok back in the first place but obv that would cause problems itself
Some stories cant have a happy ending
