Your laser cannon on the 2006 model is stopped from spinning by the railing only because it placed incorrectly on the turntable. The gun should be centered over the 2x2 round brick
Ah yeah you are totally right, it had broken off on me a few times so great catch. Spinning it around it still hits that back mast unless you really tilt both the sail and gun up really out of the way.
@@ob-1studios yeah, it happens. Thanks for your comparison. The 2006 version is one of my all time favorite LEGO sets and I’m hoping to get the UCS version if the price ever comes down
Yeah Brickset has it listed as Sand Yellow along with Bricklink's name of Dark Tan. I think they are interchangeable? But Dark Tan is just easier for sure
I only have the UCS and 2013 Sail Barges. I actually did modify my 2013 Sail Barge a couple of years ago so it's more tiled up and the front is more rounded and not as blocky looking. It was good for its time but I've always wanted a minifig scale Sail Barge with a full interior similar to the UCS AT-AT. So when the UCS Sail Barge was released, there was no question that I was going to get it. I do think the Slave Leia that came with the 2013 Sail Barge is still the best version there is. But other than that, the UCS is better in every way as to be expected. I also have the unpopular opinion that the best looking Desert Skiff that Lego ever released was the 2012 version. It has the better color and the front nose was a lot sleeker looking compared to the stubby noses of the later Skiffs. I did slightly modify my 2012 Skiff so the front railing uses flex tubes similar to the 2017 version.
I gotta say, this recent UCS model is my favorite Lego Star Wars set in a while. It's got a relatively reasonable price, a decent selection of figures, a pleasantly surprising amount of visible studs, and a lot of classic lego angles. I gotta say, the only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't include the Sarlaac Pit set. That set has a lot of problems on it's own, it's ludicris $80 dollar price tag being the biggest offender IMO.
Well I don't own the 2006 or the 2013 version of this set but I just bought the 2024 UCS Jabbas Sail Barge and I am getting ready to start building. For me, without having the other 2 sets and your review of all 3 I think the UCS is the best for sure. Great video!
2024 if you want some play and really clean design and display 2013 if you purely want play 2006 if you’re a chad who got it for Christmas from 2006-2007
I don't like the 2013 sails, it's way too shiny. I have the 2006 sail barge, pro tip. Simply ironing it will remove the creases. Place the sail on the iron board and then put a towel on top to protect the sail and it will smooth out any creases with ease, use the lowest heat setting. I Recently did this, had no issues and looks like new.
UCS set is a fantastic build, however minifigure selection holds it back. IMO the original barge is the best, has a fantastic minifigure selection, is decently sized for a play set, and aesthetically is pleasing to the eye. The 2013 version saw a reduction in total Minifigures, and a downsize to the build, so I think it’s the worst of the three.
Great video! The UCS set is terribly expensive and looks great but only looks worth about €300/350. Love the new Leia except maybe for the swimming trunks. A rather bland, but fairly detailed interior. C3PO should be the highest quality one available, disappointed by the low quality of the barge figurines (Vizam, Kithaaba, Woof) and the relatively small number of figurines overall. Space being an issue, I just purchased the older playset for 229€ and I feel quite happy and a bit relieved by my decision. I already have the Rancor set and Jabba's palace so I can use some of the figures from there. I've also bought the new desert skiff on sale. It looks great! 👌
I still have my 2006 one I got from Christmas as a kid. I remember building it on the floor while watching ROTJ. One of my favorite sets of all time.
Jabba keeps his prisoners in the armoury so that they can easily arm themselves when they break out.
😆

2013 version is very underrated
💯 🙌
yes
Yup. Best value of the three
Agreed. And the minifigs are still great by current standards.
Yeah, that was my favorite set as a kid.
I think the dark gray looks nice on the UCS one but you're totally right. It is the wrong color for the deck and I can't unsee it now.
Yeah I’m the same way, can’t unsee it!
@@ob-1studios if its really that off it doesnt seem like it would be too hard to swap colors
didnt watch yet but know its gonna be good
Great comparison and you're amazing for being the first one to have a video like this up.
Thank you! Worked really hard to get it up so quick haha
Fyi, that "sand yellow" color you referred to is called dark tan, at least in the bricklink databases

You’ve earned a subscriber my man. Love the content, and am excited to see your future videos.

The fact you have all 3 Jabba's Sail Barges is awesome. 9:14 the pipe in the UCS Jabba Sail Barge is a microphone I think.
Good comparison
Thank you 🙏🏻

I still have my 2013 set. One of my favorite sets I’ve ever owned. Not sure I’ll ever part with it either tbh, I think the figures are overall better
Yeah it’s such s great set!
Do you think ironing could take out the creases on the cloth sails? My 2006 sails have creases so wondering if this might work.
You sure the deck is the same color as the hull? Looks gray to me in ROTJ but it’s hard to tell
Always wanted the 2006 lego set but I think it’ll be cheaper to buy the UCS and all the figs 😂

Yes I still have to give that a try, but I will, thank you!

I agree with you! And I still need to get that Rancor Pit and Palace combo... one day!
The 2013 one is atrocious because of that front part, 2006 way better
