- What a wonderful song by IU. Beautiful song ..sang beautifully. The imagery and the acting was also sublime. One of the best MV I have seen in a while. They were just joy to watch together.

Everyone's reaction was sooo positive!!! Really thankful for IU letting him play this part as we (ARMY) know acting is really something he wants to explore more! And IU was the perfect person she is just such an amazing and beautiful person in and out! Everyone loves her! And their chemistry was amazing!!!

Both IU & V put in top tear acting performances. This video is just a little over 5 minutes and from the beginning they drew us in. Bravo!

Actually, she covered his left eye, his sighted one, so he would not see what was about to happen. It tears me apart every time.

the refrain reminds me of an old Italian song; IU is infusing her voice with emotion which is wonderful to hear. Love, love the song.!!
I really love this song and MV. IU’s voice is so powerful but dreamy and Tae’s acting, especially his facial expressions convey so much feeling which is why I tear up every time I hear this song. I love IU’s personality and her different dynamics with the BTS members (Tae, Hobi and Yoongi)! I so wish her and Tae would star in a drama together in the future!! 💜
The more prevalent reaction among ARMY is absolute wonder and appreciation of their tandem. It's amazing! Im glad if ever there are toxic fans that they don't become too loud that people think they represent the majority..
I'm convinced whenever anybody says something about "toxic Army", it comes down to lack of knowledge, low IQ, or racism (in the case of John, it's just lack of knowledge of the relative size of the fanbases). What the hell does a handful of blunt commenters mean when it's the largest music fanbase in human history?? Some of the actually most toxic fans are from the smallest fanbases - that's meaningful.
It's heartbreaking ending to fight against all odds for love and do nothing but surrender together hoping for eternal on the other side. I always cried to this song beautiful to my ears

i know IU is a great actress. I actually saw IU in the kdrama scarlet heart before i knew BTS or kpop. i was blown away by the movie but i didn´t know who she was back then. it was only when Suga collaborated with her. so it was like two worlds colliding for me.
We mostly want to see them in kdrama together now 😭😭😭

He is blind in his right eye, she is deaf/mute, the camera represents the lens of true love, the cube represents persecution for being different, he sacrificed himself by attacking the cube, she sacrificed herself by covering his working eye.

the Cube represent Society and the norm people have to fit into. the cube goes around picking up all who isn´t fitting the standard. and V who is blind and IU who is deaf or mute don't fit the mold.
so this is them fighting for their love. after i saw the mv sketch IU said she wanted a man with a boyish charm who can end up fighting. that's why i think the story is also about the younger men and older woman relationship which is not really common and often looked down upon.
V is two years younger than IU and it would just fit the story of being different. also IU protects him from the beginning but at the end he end up protecting her. be strong and fight for what you love. is my interpretation of the mv. aslo that all people deserve to be loved.

The director Um Tae Hwa said the music video is a "survival story in a dystopian world, of those who cannot speak and those who only see the world with their left eyes". There are many theories about the symbolism behind it but I was wondering if there is a context to "seeing the world with the left eye". Is there a Korean saying or phrase behind this?

8:30: "one of his eyes are blue" I think the blue eye is supposed to be a blind eye, an eye with a fake contact lens to cover the blindness. Like G'Kar in Babylon Five (another sci-fi TV series).

I’ve seen many people, like V looks here, in real life so I’m surprised you even say it’s a blue eye. No it’s a blind eye. Probably cataracts or had a lesion because he was wounded or attacked prior..
@@AndieFlowers3 Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. I see vision-impaired people all the time; there is a training center for the blind here in the town where I live. Several of my co-workers were blind or vision-impaired. I simply meant that, as V is not actually blind in one eye, perhaps the makeup team used a contact lens to make one eye look different from the other.
