Why are everyone whining and hating the singer. I admit he can't replace the original but he has his own nice smooth touch to it and the guitar tone is really awesome. The instrumentation is tight and professional. Very good arrangement 👍👍❤️ The ones that are complaining cant even say their own intro in front of 10 people in a meeting without faltering, stammering and dry throating but are keen to insult hard working professional musicians.
This guy CAN sing NO he is NOT David Sylvian but to actually cover this track is brave and in this case successful. The obviously really dig the deeper understanding consciousness of the track to recreate it. Bravo!

Loved the extended guitar and the synth/sample textures. The drumming in the original is sublime so it was interesting to hear a machine behind the kit. Will look out for more😀
Now that David Sylvian has stepped back from performing this kind of song, which I first heard when David gave an interview to BFBS Radio in West Germany soon after the album release, leaving aside comments about the singer here, this excellent cover version did provoke thoughts in me as to how David's music could live on in live and atmospheric performance, now that it seems clear he will not create or perform this kind of timeless masterpiece again. I would certainly be interested in singing with these musicians, not that I can recreate the brilliance of David himself, far from it, still less upload my offering to TH-cam, where it might offend. It is not possible to get hold of sheet music which includes David's lyrics and music, as far as I know, and a query I put to him, Ok admittedly it was only via Facebook, so he may not even have seen it, regarding his permission to sing one of his songs, received no reply. So I guess we must respect David's unspoken wish and go back to the original art he created, which is a small regret to me, as David's voice has been the soundtrack to my life. And if available commercially, the sheet music I mean, then singers could prepare themselves to sing the songs more accurately. A bit like a tribute act..
Hi, I've been a fan since japan ( or more so) brilliant trees - I have seen his few live performances in the UK over the last 40 years & religiously collected most of, if not all of his music - sad to say, I gave up after his immersion into the minimal direction; a stark direction change from those wonderful aural masterpieces we all still love - The last time we had the opportunity to see him live, the tour was cancelled due to illness, a very sad day. Whether he will resurface from the USA we will never know, but I do feel sad the only releases we are now offered are the same, just repackaged - I'm happy with Weatherbox, no need for more! - David give us something new.....

From that point, I too collected everything I could get my hands on. For me his creativity peaked at the end of the 90s with Dead Bees (he said himself it was an end of sorts), Blemish wasn’t bad, but it didn't touch the soul the way the older stuff had done. Snow Borne Sorrow was a return to form and looked promising. However, he lost me with the squeaky Manafon, that was too technical. Of course you move on, others out there making magical music too and my interest in Sylvian faded. I keep expecting him to bounce back, having rediscovered his musical muse. Who knows, he might surprise us all one of these days. D 🙏
