...and my favorite(born 61).I find THIS Song(1.) with "Carpet Crawlers"(2.)"Lady in Black"(3.)"Comfortable Numb"(4.)and "Youre the Voice"(5.) the absolutly Best Songs in the Music-History!!!!!
Perhaps one of the most underrated song of all time. Seriously a masterpiece in its composition and about every aspect. Such a shame... more people have to know about this masterpiece.
This song has so much to say to us now, about compassion and struggle and the sadness of the world that can make us harden our hearts. The impassioned delivery of the vocals is at times heart rending. Truly the attitude of our hearts should always be "if I can help you just let me know". Fellow travellers in a world with so much sorrow should lend each other a hand.
I saw the singer of that song a few years in an open-air concert. He is a massive talent, and he has a way of connecting with the audience. Reading some of the comments, and reflecting on my own life, I can't sing or read the lyrics without choking up. Greetings to all of you good people.
This song used to send a literal shiver up my spine at its crescendo, as if it was reaching down into my being. I first heard it almost 50 years ago now when i was 14. I still love it, as does my inner child.
I bought this album and listen to this song hundreds of times on my head phones. My dad had a radio gram. it was quite a good won. It had a hole where I could plug my head phones in. My very first wage as an apprentice bricklayer whent on them. £6 . Lot of money, I was on £15 a week in '76 . I come back to this album alot. Especially this beautiful song!
Hi Patricia, I hope you're feeling better now. I'm sending good vibes your way if it's not the case. Even though I don't know what you were going thru or still going thru, I know what it feels like to not be ok. Although it may appear that way, you are *never* alone.
Another classic tune by supertramp. Hide in your shell . This can happen in life. Our anxiety can get the best of us sometimes. But have faith in god 🙏 and take day by day . All wounds heal in time.
Supertramp; Hide In A Shell... I played the piano since I was a kid..and discovering Supertramp enrichened my reportoire in such a revoutionary, but funny way, that it changed my Life. "Even In The Quietest Moments" made me discover my Oneness with Everyone & Everything, and made me realy FEEL Creation in All Places..: I Am ❤️, and 'Hide In A Shell' was an invitation to get out, to let them see me, without fear of being patronized. THANK you so much, Supertramp❣️
When you keep thinking of this melody out of the blue in a good way, you know the song is great, not to mention it's from one of the greatest all-time groups.
Back in 1994, I was 17 and I listened to this song a thousand times on a Sony Walkman 😆 while walking in my beautiful city Oran.. Now this song is like a Time Machine, I play it close my eyes and back to the 90s ….. Thanks Supertramp!

I'm so very sorry for your incredible loss. I've listened to this song for so many years thinking and worrying about my son. He completed his suicide on 5/18/2021. There are no words, my heart is smashed into a million pieces.
I love this song, it came out when I was 9, looking back this song is so relatable and awesome. Supertramp was at its artistic best , especially on Crime Of The Century.... a timeless Classic .

My late dad's favorite band. Whenever I listen to this song I feel he's here with me. I've recently been coping after years of abuse in a marriage, It's so painful I sometimes think about giving up. But then I remember that my dad would've wanted me to fight, This song always helps me to recover.
Definitely in my eyes or ears as the case may be this is the greatest song of all times. And from a band who were unsurpassed even in the seventies along with a few peers like Pink Floyd and maybe Genesis
I grew up teen years with Supertramp as well. 60 this year 2021. Love them as SUPERTRAMP not Roger Hodges taking over these day's. If it weren't for Rick Davies and the rest of the 'Band' we all wouldn't have HEARD of this band SUPERTRAMP! Right???

There is so much emotion in all of Supertramps songs. I love how this one is so uplifting. I am also uplifted by so many people listening to this song and loving it. I feel like Hodgsons message is about he learned early on that love is the answer and he was worthy of love. Some of us didn't get that message early on and believed we were not worthy of love. Everyone is worthy of love. It doesn't matter what other people think or what is going on we need to be in self-love. Fear undermines love.
I saw this band at the San Diego Convention Centre in 1977, cost $5, about 2000 people. Couldn't believe my luck. They had just released Even in the Quietest Moments.
This is one of my favourite songs. I remember lying on the living room floor and the music literally washed over and theough me. The lyrics I found began with the hint of hope in the danger of someone's total collapse when dealing with the world and the eventual frantic despair of the person trying to help the other person.
Supertramp was one of my favorite 70's groups, and this is one of my favorite Supertramp numbers. Thanks for posting the lyrics. I knew Roger Hodgson was talking to a beautiful woman, but I never realized just how complex and cynical it all was. Beautifully crafted song.

Supertramp the best English rock band I have listened to, Roger Hodgson is a genius, this song touches my soul.
Probably the best British songwriters along side Lennon / McCartney. !!!

One of the nicest details is that Sax coming in the end so beautifully.
Which is something they neglected to do when playing this live.
