i love the water fresh tint. it wears well no matter what the weather is. i didn’t notice any redness on your nose, but i don’t generally have much redness i’m trying to cover up. just some evening out for days when i just need to pop out for a bit. but it’s also a great hydrating primer. i only use 1 pump as a primer and 2 pumps when i’m using alone as a skin tint
I bought this - and didn’t think it did much at all. But one day I mixed it in with Dior face and body… it was beautiful. Still not sure why I tried this combination, but I did not use any moisturizer - just advanced night repair, then mixed the Dior and Chanel on the back of my hand, and spread it on my face like a moisturizer! Lol. Not sure what I was thinking, but the combination worked beautifully. I am 54 with skin that gets more dehydrated throughout the day as well. I do not powder this and I end up with a natural finish that last throughout the day. Keep being amazing!
I actually have grown to love the fresh water tint especially in the summer. Like you, my first attempt was not the best. But for the price I was determined to use it. I now mix 2 colors and put it on with the small brush and then sometimes press it in with a damp beauty blender. I have super dry skin, am in my 60s and it’s a great option for those hot days when you need a little something but don’t want heavy makeup. Keep trying it and I bet you’ll love it too!! Love all your videos Shelley!!! I can always count on you for an honest dry skin review! ❤️❤️
Hi Shelly, Hi Zeva! I love hearing the birds in the trees at your house! ❤️ For the price of that foundation/tint, it should do more than just provide the bare minimum.
Shelly this is my favorite foundation because it is a textured girl’s dream. But I don’t have redness to cover so I understand what you’re saying even though I didn’t see your red nose and thought it looked pretty on you. One thing you have such beautiful skin that regular foundation looks great on you and few look really good on me. The only downside and you named it, is that I run through the bottle very quickly because I use 2 pumps always. I think you were fair with your grade.
I love that foundation because it looks and feels like there is nothing on your skin. It still blurs though. It is good for days you don’t have to hide anything on your skin of course. Or you use concealer on certain parts of your skin.
To be fair, they don't advertise it as a foundation. Chanel has a more pigmented version called Les Beiges Water Fresh Complexion Touch in a cylinder shape bottle. But my favorite Chanel foundation is the Les Beiges Healthy Glow; please try it, you won't regret it. Also for occasional wear, because my skin is dry/normal, the Ultra Le Teint, which has fantastic coverage, yet looks very natural.
Thank you Shelly for picking this one up! I was curious about it but I’m a little disappointed I guess… not worth the price! Your Guerlain is definitely better!! Thank you for your honest opinion and great wear test! And where else do we get to see beautiful Ziva 😻😻😻😻
Pretty, but not $70 pretty, and definitely out of my current budget. ;) I feel like even Ziva was shocked by the price! Of course, she's so naturally gorgeous, she needs no enhancement. Thanks for the great video and review! (and I have no idea why YT is now adding numbers after my name)
Shelly I always appreciate your reviews. Thank you for checking this out. I’ll be passing, just not my jam. It’s as hot as the devils crotch here in Florida. Stay cool everyone! ✌️☀️
When I saw this thumbnail I was surprised you were trying this one!! I was pretty sure you wouldn’t love the coverage and I’m with you!! One of my problems is that using a brush isn’t my favorite because my skin is uber sensitive and even the nicest, softest brushes will tend to redden my skin and be “abrasive”, but it’s tricky to apply to break up the “micro spheres”! Fingers can do it but it must be rubbed in pretty aggressively which can also annoy / redden my skin! I’m absolutely a makeup sponge girl for these reasons. I try getting it prepped/blended on my hand and then apply with sponge. For all that ….. it is such a light (but lovely) finish, but I definitely must go in with concealer after. All this being said, I don’t wear it much. Thanks for the review! *I bet I’d prefer the one that came after that seems like it has more coverage but I had purchased this one just a few months before the newer formula product was released and I won’t be trying that one any time soon (or at all)*
I rhink it looks stunning on you tbh. I have the complexion touch one which has higher coverage but im seriously gonna get this guy. At 54yr old, im finding lighter coverage is more flattering. Ps ur eyeshadow looks gorgeous 😍
I'm a big Chanel lover...they are known to be light in coverage and pigmentation...its definitely a vibe that you like or not. The whole Les Beige line is beautiful. With that said, I much prefer the Les Beige Healthy Glow foundation over this one....a little more coverage and better wear time.
I love Fresh Water Tints. I have 2 colors and I blend them to get the exact shade I want. 1 pump of 1 color and ½ pump of another on the top of my hand where I blend it and it does my whole face.
I love watching your content and enjoy the information you give to us along with your pleasant personality coming through with the delivery of information. I am curious….may I see your tattoo that has do no harm written below it??? Also have you ever reviewed Florasis cosmetics????
Hi Helen! I've got Do No Harm right underneath a Triquetra (they weren't done together - just happened to be a good place to put the text to end at my wrist!)
There is a more recent version of the water-tint, but not sheer. A medium coverage. It's called CHANEL LES BEIGES Water-Fresh Complexion Touch What it is: A first-of-its-kind, versatile product with medium-coverage that's infused with ultra-concentrated micro-droplet pigments. What it does: It features a lightweight gel texture that delivers a unique cooling sensation. Antioxidant-rich ingredients, including jasmine extract help shield skin from pollution and other environmental aggressors. Emollients such as tamarind extract leave your complexion looking plump, fresh and well-rested. How to use: The medium-coverage formula offers customizable application. Conceal specific areas or apply all over.
I just ordered water fresh tint. I have Rosacea & PCOS & I had a bad reaction to the slight oil from mineral makeup powder & pore blocked & face swelled up. Scary. Haven’t worn foundation in yrs. The idea of water based foundation appeals. I could have got Chanel complexion but thought it might be more oily pore blocking than water tint. Bit concerned that water tint has Fragrence & bitter orange oil with rosacea. Might try Rose Inc or complexion if I have reaction to water fresh tint. I’ve used Jane iredale makeup with the little spheres for rosacea. It was good for my rosacea but it looked like a pasty mask. If only they made a mineral water gel.
I have this in medium light. I don’t like the brush it came with. The brush worked well on the first application but not on following applications. So, I use a different brush or I use my fingers. It’s very expensive and fancy so I don’t use it every day but I do like it a lot!
I thought it looked lovely on your skin. I haven’t used it but it looked to be more of a skin tint than a foundation. It might be one of those where you spot conceal first, or lightly use a powder foundation at the end
I love it. I love it for a light coverage day. I took it on my cruise to cover enough but to be light weight. It’s definitely a no make up look day. I have freckles all over my face that I still adore so I like show casing them and this let’s them shine while toning down my fair red skin!
Hey Shelly! Along with beauteous, purrer is a word! I love words! Thanks for testing an innovative product but I will be passing on it. It is cool to watch your foundation fest posts. Isn’t the fragrance a marketing ploy for prestige brands? For example, the signature scent is automatically a bougie reminder of the brand. Yikes. I hope you’re enjoying Ireland in all its glory. ❤❤❤
For a "dewy veil" effect, I think the Jones Road WTF looks more flattering and costs way less, so I'll likely stick with that. Yes, WTF has a scent, but at least it's geranium EO instead of goodness knows what combo of perfume ingredients that Chanel is using without disclosing. In any case you look lovely! Our new kitten, Enzo, is such a loud purr-er that we named him after Enzo Ferrari. Start your engines!
That’s some expensive water!! I tried it a few months ago and didn’t like it at all. Had the same issues you did. Hard to apply - the spheres are weird, no coverage, clinging to dryness etc. it’s a no for me especially for the price.
I don’t see the nose redness at all? Thanks for testing this high dollar product for us, now I don’t have to invest. Thanks for the laughs too “ it all happens so fast…” 😂
This foundation seems to be water based. It may be that you have more oil in your nose, and as we all know water and oil don’t mix well. You may want to try absorbing the oil with a paper so it won’t separate on your nose 🤍
I don't really have one as I haven't had the best luck with Chanel foundations. I try them as they get a ton of requests but none of them have made an A grade for me. They're OK - mid-B grades - but I have too many A-grade foundations that I don't reach for Chanel much.
I'm not a fan of this tint. I feel like I'm paying for water, plus not wanting to burst little beads of color when I can choose another brand of skin tint without having to go through that procedure. It's ok, but would I purchase it again, nope. Chanel lately has been dropping the ball. I have their eyeliner and I went to take the top off and the entire pencil fell apart and I can't put it back together, so I had to toss it. It's retractable but somehow the actual pencil came apart in two sections and there's no way of putting it back together where it will hold. When I'm paying those prices, that's truly a deal breaker. I was a longtime fan of Chanel, but I'm slowly moving away because I feel the quality just isn't there anymore.
Don't you start acting like $70 bucks is horrible to you, when you are the one who got me hooked on that stupid By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Foundation!!! I still haven't forgiven you for that one Shelly.

If you go to the chanel store they say this is indeed foundation
I love your foundation reviews!!!! Again your eye look is gorgeous!!! Please do some tutorials on how you achieve your eye looks please!!!!!!
Wow!!! It’s beautiful ❤

😅
I use a similar product from Rose Inc - no scent, $48 v $70 undetectable skin perfecting product.
I have that foundation and love it. This is not gear to people that want tons of coverage. Is more like a beautiful skin enhancer.
Shelly I always appreciate your reviews. Thank you for checking this out. I’ll be passing, just not my jam. It’s as hot as the devils crotch here in Florida. Stay cool everyone! ✌️☀️
You should try the new water fresh tint complexion product. Its fab, has a lot more pigment and has beautiful coverage and no fragrance. 😊😊
I personally love to wear it alone but I've also used it as a primer or try it as a mix in. It's beautiful

Love the cat in the background walking around from the very beginning 😊😂😊😊

I purchased the mini size of the Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint to try it out for the summer. I like it, but I'm not sure I would repurchase.
Goodness! your eyes, beautiful!

Do u have a video on the Tarte Shape Tape Radiant concealer ?
I’m really curious about this one
I've got it on my to-buy list!

I bet Enzo gets the zoomies 💨😹😆
Microfluidic spheres = tiny bubbles. Lol, but I would never pay that much for a foundation. Thank you for trying it so we don't have to!
Do you still use this? Trying to decide to get this or 😊the newer touch formula…
I still wear it occasionally but I have other brands that wear much better on me. I've never had the best luck with Chanel.
Covergirl has a version of this out now with the retinol derivative in it
I just found it!! Can't wait to try it out!
That’s some expensive water!! I tried it a few months ago and didn’t like it at all. Had the same issues you did. Hard to apply - the spheres are weird, no coverage, clinging to dryness etc. it’s a no for me especially for the price.
Even Ziva had to do a double take over the shoulder upon hearing the price of this foundation😻😅
That brush is identical to the one I got off TEMU and have been using for the past few weeks! I only paid $1.07 🤣
I think you look beautiful!
I remember what a water fresh tint is!
That sounds like buyer’s remorse!
Thanks!
Thanks for always saving me from purchasing scented, B- foundations. Much love, XOXO
Thank you, Elle!!

I'll try this - thanks!!
it's a tiny and for tint is impressive
Looks like you have an expensive primer unless you have flawless skin 🤣 or as a mixer foundation.
Have a lovely weekend 💞
❤❤❤
I never bought it because I need medium coverage base products and also too much fragrance in Chanel
“Bad TH-camr.” 😂
💓💓💓
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

@@goow thank you very much for your honesty. This is what the beauty community needs. More power to you channel!
What kind of sandwiches do you make? 😂
Hehe I usually go get a Jimmy Johns number 6 veggie, no tomato, add pickles, add oil and vinegar!
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
I can't use Chanel due to fragrance. It's so gross
I'm not a fan of this tint. I feel like I'm paying for water, plus not wanting to burst little beads of color when I can choose another brand of skin tint without having to go through that procedure. Well, I’ve seen many more foundations look way better on you than this one. I guess you have to have perfect skin to wear this.
You save product by using hands to apply🙂
Don't you start acting like $70 bucks is horrible to you, when you are the one who got me hooked on that stupid By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Foundation!!! I still haven't forgiven you for that one Shelly.
LOL that is still one of the best foundations EVER!
