As a manga reader, I would say Arima Kana is the girl Aqua took interest the most. He even took drastic measures just to keep her safe, although it hurts her feeling being not knowing anything. I believe, that if Aqua could end his revenge cleanly and without suffering many consequences, he would choose his path with Kana.
@@RealCalamity I wasn't really worry about Aqua. He's not really in to Ruby as a love interest. Ruby/Sarina on the other hand, potentially have a crush all over again. Another possibility of complications for Aqua. I quite worry for Akane tbh, I think Aka could made her into a collateral victim. But after all the development in the manga, even Kana has the chance to be a collateral victim between Aqua and his dad. Thats my literature geek talking though, nothing been set in stone yet.

@@monca1222 The most important girl for Aqua definitely is Sarina. He didn’t even know Ai but suddenly became a fan after Sarina’s death. Also he even used her pic as screen lock and the most important thing is the keychain that he promised to take care forever as if it was her. Also, Kana / Akane can live without Aqua, but that’s not the case for Sarina. As Sarina, Gorou was the reason she kept living in her previous life, and as Ruby he was her motivation (for 16 years !) to become an idol so that he can notice her. After all the suffering (losing Ai, losing Gorou, abandoned by her mother), she deserves happiness. If this marriage is necessary for this happiness then i’ll ship them. But of course only if what she said wasn’t a joke, because maybe she was teasing him… we don’t know yet. But anyway, Aqua won’t date anyone until Kamiki is dead, so he’ll probably just ignore her confession or say that’s it’s not the right moment. I don’t think he will reject her because that would break her heart.
So far off the anime with S1, most logically Kana has the advantage since she got the most screentime as a character and with Aqua. It's like Rem having that advantage in S1 for Re:Zero as the "best girl" over Emilia. Then we got more with Emilia in S2. So have to see how the dynamics could possibly shift as we see more with Akane in the mix and how the story is in general moving forward.
Kana is def my fav. Despite seemingly being super fragile and lacking self esteem she is at the same time the most resilient character, being able to take in all those negative and hate comments at a young and age and still pursuing her love of acting is just so admirable to me. I also know Some people like akane better because she was aquas first kiss and first girlfriend and akane was always very supportive and wanting to help aqua but imo aqua is the most comfortable around kana and if given the chance kana would also give it her all to help aqua but sadly he chooses to distance himself from her. I see people saying how kanas personality is not suited for aqua and how akane is the one that understands aqua more but I completely disagree. Kanas approach and akanes are completely different she’s more of the type who uses humor to cheer aqua up because she doesn’t know another way to handle these type of situations cause nobody was there for her when she experienced this and ruby herself said kana brings back the old aqua. I also saw a comment say they disliked kana cause she was a pushover which was the most false statement I’ve ever heard, first of no pushover would be able to stand her ground at all the hate she received and still continue after the betrayal of those closest to her having and no one there to support her, yet she continued to be active because she couldn’t give up her career as an actor. Just because she acts fine and tries hard to accommodate others does not make her a pushover like that instance where her mother (I forgot if it was mother or grandmother) asked if she was okay with living alone and kana replies the opposite of what she thinks, to me kana has always faced the world with bravery and willing to accept the what comes after not running away from consequences. What makes me feel the worst is that sure akane has been through a lot and even had suicidal tendencies but so has kana. At least with akane, aqua was there for her and she had a mother that cared for her while kana was all alone at that time and although she has aqua as her friend now kana is always hurt in one way or another by him. In conclusion, no matter what kana is best girl for me 😢❤
Aqua and akane have gone through just so much shit together, it's honestly hard for me to not root for them. But I'm not exactly a shipper and I'd not have much issues if kana ends up with aqua. But my best girl will ALWAYS be akane

Oh he does trust akane a lot. He literally asks akane in ch 97 about what should he do - chase revenge or live normally with her. So I do believe he has a trust in akane's advice.
I think kana brings aquas good side and it's the opposite for Akane. And tbh aqua x akane reminds me of Light x Misa. So a better fit will always be Kana Arima. And I think Aqua probably likes akane cause of her Ai side. But Aqua x Therapy FOREVER.

I like Akane, but I love Kana, I just think she's the most relatable character I've ever seen. Combine that with a playful sense of humor, a memorable design, and "first girl bonus" and she just becomes easily the best imo. Akane just felt a bit bland to me in comparison in both looks and personality. Sure, Akane had a very instinctively engaging storyline but in my opinion even the concept of depression was handled better with Kana. Akane didn't feel depressed, she felt like she was overwhelmed and momentarily despairing, after she was saved I wasn't worrying about her the way I was worrying about Kana. Depression isn't a temporary inability to handle a momentary set-back, it's not sadness. It's the slow, constant erosion of positive feelings and happiness, until every second become a drag and excruciating for the inability to find joy even in the good things. When Kana said "I wonder when I started making these self-deprecating remarks" that hit me like a truck. They often say it's the ones you least expect it. Kana comes across as strong, and as if she's accepts the things that happen, but in reality the reason bad things don't seem to impact her as much is because she's already thoroughly defeated by life, like my fridge she still works but the light it no longer on. I am sure that season 2 will de great things for Akane, but for me my heart is sold on Kana, I just find her amazing. And since Akane seems to be doing well in life while Kana is trying to fight back against 10 years of feeling rejected.....and then that declaration of making her his star........well........I just can't help support Kana. But to be honest, I wish this love triangle wasn't in the show, because honestly I hate them, the girls I love never win them, and each time I see them suffer I empathize as if it happens to me personally, and I can't stand it, it ruins my enjoyment of shows and usually causes me to stop watching them entirely, and I don't want that to happen here, since I love this show.

Kana is simply much less involved in the story. Kana literally just feels like a side character. Akane and aqua have just gone through so much shit together, it's kinda hard for me not to root for them. I don't hate kana, but akane is simply much more involved in the story, so character-wise of course she would be better
If you read the manga it’s pretty clear that Aqua is infatuated with Kana. And he can be himself when he’s around her. At first he just doesn’t want her to be involved in his revenge plot, but in the recent chapter aka showed us just how bad aqua has fallen. But let’s see, he said he is willing to do anything even kana if he has to, but so far he hasn’t done anything harmful to her. He helped her instead. And the part when he was laughing and said she is so easily manipulated for me i take it as he was frustrated/dumbfounded by how gullible she is after she just got involved in a big scandal, he even had to sold ai’s name to save her.
I feel like people forget that Akane was put through the ringer and had an extremely compelling arc centered around her in the middle of the series sandwiched between the Kana centered arcs. Because Akane is a quieter and more shy character who doesn’t have a huge personality, her dynamic is often softer and quietly mature in the way Akane and Aqua interact with each other. While Kana draws out the old self of Aqua, Akane draws out his more adult side because these two are actually on the same wavelength a lot of the time, especially with how they approach problems. Kana has a lot of trouble actually understanding Aqua’s intentions while Akane is easily able to understand Aqua. The manga later on shows just how much Akane Aqua and even how much she not only helps and but kind of motivates/teaches him. The anime hasn’t really gotten to show much of them pretending to be a couple yet and we are in for some good story beats. I also love the direction her character goes and what we learn more about her. Kana is an appealing best girl because her struggles are gut-wrenching and real that you cheer for her when things go this cute tsundere’s way. Akane is an appealing best girl in that she is an introspective, insightful, clever, and unbelievingly loving person wrapped in a sweet cinnamon roll. I obviously love Akane the most and I feel like this love triangle is an example where everyone loses no matter what unless Aqua changes for the better. Sorry for the thesis, it’s just that Kana gets a lot of justified love and Akane gets seen as the weaker love interest despite me finding her incredibly interesting, endearing, and a more compelling love interest.
Normally I always support the Akane type girls, and absolutely loathe tsunderes, but in this show it's no contest for me, I think Akane is great but Kana might seriously be my favorite written character ever. Wish the love triangle just wasn't a thing though, they always ruin shows for me. I don't think Akane gets seen as the weaker love interest though, when this show aired Akane was pretty much all I hear about, and now that season 1 is over I kinda feel like Kana doesn't get enough love and has her depression arc kinda glanced over in comparison to Akanes, which is more directly impactful but in my opinion has less depth.
To me, Akane is the type of girl who would support you through the hardest time of your life, and Kana is the girl that you can enjoy being yourself when you're around her
Can't get this show out of my head. It is so well written with a strong connection to real life. I see Akane healing and growing stronger, but only because of Aqua. Either Akane or Kana could self destruct as both are emotionally very fragile. So who saves Aqua from the dark forces pushing revenge. Somehow it's neither girl somehow there is another that is Ai.
Akane seems to care more for Aqua despite his views on revenge which balances well her (girlfriend) status in this season. Kana gels with Aqua more as a person but I wouldn't match them up since they have been more 'rivals' at a young age than lovers.
I think the dynamic seems more romantic as well. They keep tying all her development towards him like a love interest too. 😆 I feel like her path leads to the future of him living as Aqua and accepting Ai as his mother since Akane's tears hit him the most and probably remind him of Ai's love and lies when she passed. Kana is the Ai idol side that shows his past Goro connection. He is memorized by her star power like Ai as a fan. Kana could be his connection to finally embracing his love for acting and becoming that star Ai hoped for him to be.
I never really understood when Aqua started to like Kana. For me it just seemed real because Aqua said so to mem. Felt forced to me, but thats just me.
I like Kana a lot, but she's easily manipulated, which is really bad when paired with a manipulator like Aqua. Akane is also incredible, and she's a lot more aware of things than Kana is. However as you saw with her getting into the role of Ai, she's obsessive about things she gets invested in, and that's not at all healthy when combined with Aqua. So ideally Aqua shouldn't end up with either of them. If I absolutely have to pick one of the two though, then I pick Kana. Kana brings out the light in Aqua and he thinks about his revenge less when with her. If she found out about his revenge I genuinely think Kana would try to stop the revenge entirely. In contrast someone with an obsessive personality like Akane would likely only push him further into the darkness if she learned of the revenge and obsessively tried to help him with it. There's also the fact he has a genuine connection with Kana, while it's totally artificial with Akane.
I havent read the manga because im not sure if I want to, but I personally like Akane way more than Kana, but I still respect Kana as a character and what shes been through

Kana deserves way better too, but if I really had to chose it'd be Kana, since Ruby mentions how whenever she nabs at Aqua he doesn't really push her away, he kinda acts like his old self before Ai had died. If I had ANY choice it'd be like maybe Taiki and Kana
What's season 2 gonna be about ? The mangaka arc ? That was the worst part of the whole series. Though if we can get the events featured in the 8th volume then fanboys of the series will lose their minds.

So if it's between story progression and character development, I'm going to pick character development. I can't be bothered with a story if the characters are all 1D. And yes, the arc has tons of character development, I don't know how you missed it all.
Tbh i finnished the current mangaka releasing, my whole summary is I am not sure who to root for both girls are special on their own. Im probably gonna root more on kana just because i relate to her past in my irl self, it's just my opinion . I know they both have a horid past and been treated really badly. But I still love akane she has intelligence and caring nature .. Still im not sure because im still considering it myself (I might be still missing some info becuase i probably forgot 😂 ) But my whole verdict is both girls not be with aqua 😢😢 well if one of them will im just hoping aqua would treat her well. I love both girls, but I feel for a geninue relationship with Aqua, Kana would win. She's the one who he lets his guard down around, and he went out of his way to cheer her up and get to know her under that chicken mask lmao. He did the same with Akane, but that felt like he did it more because he felt bad for her, rather than him being interested. I haven't read the manga, but I feel the thing that seperates them is Aqua is aways in his "work/murder plan" mindset around Akane. He doesn't see her as a love interest, instead seeing her as a person he can use to further his goals. He _sees_ Kana as her own person and as someone he can let his walla down around and be himself. But that's just my opinion, I love both girls, but I'm team Kana due to their history and feeling that their relationship is more balanced and a bit more healthy ...but that isn't saying much someone please get Aqua therapy-
Akane Kurokawa and Kana Arima are both well-written characters in my opinion. Although I have a bias for Akane since she is voiced by Manaka Iwami who also voices Amber from Genshin Impact, I will try my hardest to put my bias aside. Akane made a stellar introduction when we first saw her in Episode 6…? [I think it was Episode 6…? I don’t remember] Akane has a sympathetic backstory and her themes are quite interesting. She went through a lot of $h1t during her time on the show. Her biggest weakness in my opinion is that she hardly had any screen-time. Kana had a lot of character development throughout the series. We got to see her character shine in the most reccent episodes. Her backstory really plays a big role in her character. Her biggest weakness in my opinion is her personality. In my opinion, I think that Kana is more compatible with Aqua than Akane. [To be honest I don’t think either of them deserved to be dragged into Aqua’s plan] My general opinion is that they are both great characters, however, as I mentioned earlier, I have a bias for Akane, so she is my personal favorite. [This is all my opinion, I understand if you disagree with it, heck, I might end up disagreeing with my own opinion in the near or far future, but I hope I didn’t offend anyone]
I definitely prefer Akane as a character… she seems to genuinely care about Aqua, despite him not truthfully reciprocating… she even wants to find Aqua’s father to get revenge for him… I have a feeling that Akane will play a big part later on…

For me it's Kana❤. Her character is amazing even though her arcs are little bit grounded and of low intensity in comparison to akane whose arc was quite heavy. Kana is out of 3 main heroine the most knowledgeable ( in terms of entertainment industry). Her dynamics with Aqua is amazing. Akane got more advantage as she can imitate Ai aqua's mom and also got very good deduction skills which are helpful for him but on the other hand Kana got nothing she just have an advantage as she can stay near aqua more than akane ( B komachi Memeber) and being childhood friend or enemy. Kana is my no. 1❤( on the basis of season 1/ 11 episodes).

After Aqua snaps Kana out of her slump, the crowds are now finally waving white glowsticks, depsite seeing none before. The animation beautifully illustrated how people like Kana can have a warped perception of reality.
Actually I love all of it. Especially Akane who is actually channeling Ai. Also i like Kana as well. I have a fantasy one becomes his wife the other is his mistress. And I think the old fan of the original B- Komachi instinctively senses Rubii as Ai's daughter. Great video.
I am on team AKANE 4 LIFE ESPECHAILLY after seeing spoliers on the internet and seeing what Akane had to go through and how Aqua saved her from her situation I just wanted to rot for her every since then and I just love her so much so if Aqua make her happy you bet I will be supporting her all the way. At first Mem cho was me fr I didn't know who to rot for at first I was signs that Kana liked Aqua ever since episode 2 but after the Akane episode I thought if anyone which should have Aqua it Akane and I still stand by that statement. I love both of the ships but Akane x Aqua put a huge impact on me and I haven't even read the manga yet.

I don't know about who is best girl, but I think in terms of shipping, I'd rather see Aqua with one of them instead of Ruby. I wish they'd just stay as siblings.
Now the season is finished I don't know who's my favorite. We still have Ruby to see evolve IMO but Akane and Kana are so close that I quess it's going to be a cat fight, directly on the stage while people are watching, in the next season.

I think that Kanna is more pretty then Akane and i think she will be with Aqua plus, I think that boy was the one he kill Ai giving her the flowers, but it's just my theory and not 100% sure of that
Manga pretty much spells out it can't be Akane. Don't get me wrong, Akane's great, but the relationship they develop is not built on enough trust by either of them, but especially Aqua. We also don't see the buildup of their relationship as much as we do Aqua and Kana's, which is partly how they get away with the plot twist that they don't trust each other, but it really leaves an unsatisfying taste that we don't actually see them building a romantic relationship. They build a different kind of relationship.
Kana 100% As things are now in the anime Aqua could have a healthy relationship with Kana (Aqua is himself with Kana) but a relationship with Akane would likely be unhealthy (Aqua plans to use Akane, and Akane's feelings maybe towards a savior not towards Aqua as a person).
Idk, Kana has trouble communicating with Aqua. She's not honest with herself and Aqua already shows how it's hurtful. It's too one sided even if Kana likes him a lot and Aqua gets starstruck by her like he would with Ai. He's used both Akane and Kana for his revenge plan. Kana falls for it easily, while Akane sees the truth, but goes along with it anyways due to her gratitude towards Aqua. The only thing I think is telling about Aqua is how emotional he gets with Akane and that's before he decides to use her. You see it when he saves her and calls her an idiot and again when she acts like Ai and makes him actually flustered and blushing. It's interesting.
I get that they wanted to bait S2, but I still think S1 should’ve ended with the B Komachi show and kana making up with Aqua. If they really wanted to keep the second half of the episode, I think the show would’ve benefited if the chronology was altered a bit to sprinkle in the behind-the-scenes stuff during the idol arc (showing that the industry is still moving around them) and then just having the declaration of war between Akane and Kana in the final episode
Aqua isn't good for anyone thus far because he's on a destructive path. Honestly, I would prefer no romantic endgame and Aqua finding purpose for himself beyond seeing himself as a tool for revenge. Self-love as the endgame. lol

Also, Kana / Akane can live without Aqua, but that’s not the case for Sarina. As Sarina, Gorou was the reason she kept living in her previous life, and as Ruby he was her motivation (for 16 years !) to become an idol so that he can notice her.
After all the suffering (losing Ai, losing Gorou, abandoned by her mother), she deserves happiness. If this marriage is necessary for this happiness then i’ll ship them. But of course only if what she said wasn’t a joke, because maybe she was teasing him… we don’t know yet.
But anyway, Aqua won’t date anyone until Kamiki is dead, so he’ll probably just ignore her confession or say that’s it’s not the right moment. I don’t think he will reject her because that would break her heart.
So far off the anime with S1, most logically Kana has the advantage since she got the most screentime as a character and with Aqua. It's like Rem having that advantage in S1 for Re:Zero as the "best girl" over Emilia. Then we got more with Emilia in S2. So have to see how the dynamics could possibly shift as we see more with Akane in the mix and how the story is in general moving forward.
Kana is def my fav. Despite seemingly being super fragile and lacking self esteem she is at the same time the most resilient character, being able to take in all those negative and hate comments at a young and age and still pursuing her love of acting is just so admirable to me. I also know Some people like akane better because she was aquas first kiss and first girlfriend and akane was always very supportive and wanting to help aqua but imo aqua is the most comfortable around kana and if given the chance kana would also give it her all to help aqua but sadly he chooses to distance himself from her. I see people saying how kanas personality is not suited for aqua and how akane is the one that understands aqua more but I completely disagree. Kanas approach and akanes are completely different she’s more of the type who uses humor to cheer aqua up because she doesn’t know another way to handle these type of situations cause nobody was there for her when she experienced this and ruby herself said kana brings back the old aqua. I also saw a comment say they disliked kana cause she was a pushover which was the most false statement I’ve ever heard, first of no pushover would be able to stand her ground at all the hate she received and still continue after the betrayal of those closest to her having and no one there to support her, yet she continued to be active because she couldn’t give up her career as an actor. Just because she acts fine and tries hard to accommodate others does not make her a pushover like that instance where her mother (I forgot if it was mother or grandmother) asked if she was okay with living alone and kana replies the opposite of what she thinks, to me kana has always faced the world with bravery and willing to accept the what comes after not running away from consequences. What makes me feel the worst is that sure akane has been through a lot and even had suicidal tendencies but so has kana. At least with akane, aqua was there for her and she had a mother that cared for her while kana was all alone at that time and although she has aqua as her friend now kana is always hurt in one way or another by him. In conclusion, no matter what kana is best girl for me 😢❤

I like Akane, but I love Kana, I just think she's the most relatable character I've ever seen. Combine that with a playful sense of humor, a memorable design, and "first girl bonus" and she just becomes easily the best imo.
Akane just felt a bit bland to me in comparison in both looks and personality.
Sure, Akane had a very instinctively engaging storyline but in my opinion even the concept of depression was handled better with Kana. Akane didn't feel depressed, she felt like she was overwhelmed and momentarily despairing, after she was saved I wasn't worrying about her the way I was worrying about Kana.
Depression isn't a temporary inability to handle a momentary set-back, it's not sadness. It's the slow, constant erosion of positive feelings and happiness, until every second become a drag and excruciating for the inability to find joy even in the good things.
When Kana said "I wonder when I started making these self-deprecating remarks" that hit me like a truck. They often say it's the ones you least expect it. Kana comes across as strong, and as if she's accepts the things that happen, but in reality the reason bad things don't seem to impact her as much is because she's already thoroughly defeated by life, like my fridge she still works but the light it no longer on.
I am sure that season 2 will de great things for Akane, but for me my heart is sold on Kana, I just find her amazing. And since Akane seems to be doing well in life while Kana is trying to fight back against 10 years of feeling rejected.....and then that declaration of making her his star........well........I just can't help support Kana.
But to be honest, I wish this love triangle wasn't in the show, because honestly I hate them, the girls I love never win them, and each time I see them suffer I empathize as if it happens to me personally, and I can't stand it, it ruins my enjoyment of shows and usually causes me to stop watching them entirely, and I don't want that to happen here, since I love this show.

If you read the manga it’s pretty clear that Aqua is infatuated with Kana. And he can be himself when he’s around her. At first he just doesn’t want her to be involved in his revenge plot, but in the recent chapter aka showed us just how bad aqua has fallen. But let’s see, he said he is willing to do anything even kana if he has to, but so far he hasn’t done anything harmful to her. He helped her instead. And the part when he was laughing and said she is so easily manipulated for me i take it as he was frustrated/dumbfounded by how gullible she is after she just got involved in a big scandal, he even had to sold ai’s name to save her.

I feel like people forget that Akane was put through the ringer and had an extremely compelling arc centered around her in the middle of the series sandwiched between the Kana centered arcs. Because Akane is a quieter and more shy character who doesn’t have a huge personality, her dynamic is often softer and quietly mature in the way Akane and Aqua interact with each other. While Kana draws out the old self of Aqua, Akane draws out his more adult side because these two are actually on the same wavelength a lot of the time, especially with how they approach problems.
Kana has a lot of trouble actually understanding Aqua’s intentions while Akane is easily able to understand Aqua. The manga later on shows just how much Akane Aqua and even how much she not only helps and but kind of motivates/teaches him. The anime hasn’t really gotten to show much of them pretending to be a couple yet and we are in for some good story beats. I also love the direction her character goes and what we learn more about her.
Kana is an appealing best girl because her struggles are gut-wrenching and real that you cheer for her when things go this cute tsundere’s way. Akane is an appealing best girl in that she is an introspective, insightful, clever, and unbelievingly loving person wrapped in a sweet cinnamon roll. I obviously love Akane the most and I feel like this love triangle is an example where everyone loses no matter what unless Aqua changes for the better.
Sorry for the thesis, it’s just that Kana gets a lot of justified love and Akane gets seen as the weaker love interest despite me finding her incredibly interesting, endearing, and a more compelling love interest.
Normally I always support the Akane type girls, and absolutely loathe tsunderes, but in this show it's no contest for me, I think Akane is great but Kana might seriously be my favorite written character ever. Wish the love triangle just wasn't a thing though, they always ruin shows for me.
I don't think Akane gets seen as the weaker love interest though, when this show aired Akane was pretty much all I hear about, and now that season 1 is over I kinda feel like Kana doesn't get enough love and has her depression arc kinda glanced over in comparison to Akanes, which is more directly impactful but in my opinion has less depth.

Can't get this show out of my head. It is so well written with a strong connection to real life. I see Akane healing and growing stronger, but only because of Aqua. Either Akane or Kana could self destruct as both are emotionally very fragile. So who saves Aqua from the dark forces pushing revenge. Somehow it's neither girl somehow there is another that is Ai.

Akane seems to care more for Aqua despite his views on revenge which balances well her (girlfriend) status in this season. Kana gels with Aqua more as a person but I wouldn't match them up since they have been more 'rivals' at a young age than lovers.

Kana is the Ai idol side that shows his past Goro connection. He is memorized by her star power like Ai as a fan. Kana could be his connection to finally embracing his love for acting and becoming that star Ai hoped for him to be.
I never really understood when Aqua started to like Kana. For me it just seemed real because Aqua said so to mem. Felt forced to me, but thats just me.

I like Kana a lot, but she's easily manipulated, which is really bad when paired with a manipulator like Aqua. Akane is also incredible, and she's a lot more aware of things than Kana is. However as you saw with her getting into the role of Ai, she's obsessive about things she gets invested in, and that's not at all healthy when combined with Aqua. So ideally Aqua shouldn't end up with either of them.
If I absolutely have to pick one of the two though, then I pick Kana. Kana brings out the light in Aqua and he thinks about his revenge less when with her. If she found out about his revenge I genuinely think Kana would try to stop the revenge entirely. In contrast someone with an obsessive personality like Akane would likely only push him further into the darkness if she learned of the revenge and obsessively tried to help him with it. There's also the fact he has a genuine connection with Kana, while it's totally artificial with Akane.

Tbh i finnished the current mangaka releasing, my whole summary is I am not sure who to root for both girls are special on their own. Im probably gonna root more on kana just because i relate to her past in my irl self, it's just my opinion . I know they both have a horid past and been treated really badly. She's the one who he lets his guard down around, and he went out of his way to cheer her up and get to know her under that chicken mask lmao. He did the same with Akane, but that felt like he did it more because he felt bad for her, rather than him being interested.
I haven't read the manga, but I feel the thing that seperates them is Aqua is aways in his "work/murder plan" mindset around Akane. He doesn't see her as a love interest, instead seeing her as a person he can use to further his goals. He _sees_ Kana as her own person and as someone he can let his walla down around and be himself.
But that's just my opinion, I love both girls, but I'm team Kana due to their history and feeling that their relationship is more balanced and a bit more healthy

Akane Kurokawa and Kana Arima are both well-written characters in my opinion.
Although I have a bias for Akane since she is voiced by Manaka Iwami who also voices Amber from Genshin Impact, I will try my hardest to put my bias aside.

For me it's Kana❤. Her character is amazing even though her arcs are little bit grounded and of low intensity in comparison to akane whose arc was quite heavy. Kana is out of 3 main heroine the most knowledgeable ( in terms of entertainment industry). Her dynamics with Aqua is amazing. Akane got more advantage as she can imitate Ai aqua's mom and also got very good deduction skills which are helpful for him but on the other hand Kana got nothing she just have an advantage as she can stay near aqua more than akane ( B komachi Memeber) and being childhood friend or enemy. I am on team AKANE 4 LIFE ESPECHAILLY after seeing spoliers on the internet and seeing what Akane had to go through and how Aqua saved her from her situation I just wanted to rot for her every since then and I just love her so much so if Aqua make her happy you bet I will be supporting her all the way. I don't know about who is best girl, but I think in terms of shipping, I'd rather see Aqua with one of them instead of Ruby. I wish they'd just stay as siblings.
Now the season is finished I don't know who's my favorite. We still have Ruby to see evolve IMO but Akane and Kana are so close that I quess it's going to be a cat fight, directly on the stage while people are watching, in the next season.
Kana just feels like someone who'd always be a good friend pf aqua. As a manga reader, akane later realises that aqua is using her, but she still loves and cares for him and even LETS him use her. thats why akane x aqua > kana x aqua

I think that Kanna is more pretty then Akane and i think she will be with Aqua plus, I think that boy was the one he kill Ai giving her the flowers, but it's just my theory and not 100% sure of that

Manga pretty much spells out it can't be Akane. Don't get me wrong, Akane's great, but the relationship they develop is not built on enough trust by either of them, but especially Aqua. We also don't see the buildup of their relationship as much as we do Aqua and Kana's, which is partly how they get away with the plot twist that they don't trust each other, but it really leaves an unsatisfying taste that we don't actually see them building a romantic relationship. They build a different kind of relationship.

As things are now in the anime Aqua could have a healthy relationship with Kana (Aqua is himself with Kana) but a relationship with Akane would likely be unhealthy (Aqua plans to use Akane, and Akane's feelings maybe towards a savior not towards Aqua as a person).
Idk, Kana has trouble communicating with Aqua. She's not honest with herself and Aqua already shows how it's hurtful. It's too one sided even if Kana likes him a lot and Aqua gets starstruck by her like he would with Ai.
He's used both Akane and Kana for his revenge plan. Kana falls for it easily, while Akane sees the truth, but goes along with it anyways due to her gratitude towards Aqua.
The only thing I think is telling about Aqua is how emotional he gets with Akane and that's before he decides to use her. You see it when he saves her and calls her an idiot and again when she acts like Ai and makes him actually flustered and blushing. It's interesting.

I get that they wanted to bait S2, but I still think S1 should’ve ended with the B Komachi show and kana making up with Aqua. If they really wanted to keep the second half of the episode, I think the show would’ve benefited if the chronology was altered a bit to sprinkle in the behind-the-scenes stuff during the idol arc (showing that the industry is still moving around them) and then just having the declaration of war between Akane and Kana in the final episode

Aqua isn't good for anyone thus far because he's on a destructive path. Honestly, I would prefer no romantic endgame and Aqua finding purpose for himself beyond seeing himself as a tool for revenge. Self-love as the endgame. lol
