- Situated to the south of Leamington Spa and north of Banbury is Claydon Crossing. Now little more than a foot crossing, the original gated crossing was controlled from the signalbox which closed in the mid-eighties. Pictured here are various shots taken during the 1970s and 1980s at this once rural but busy location. Please note that this footage is taken directly from 8mm cine film and therefore has no sound.
Excellent coverage, particularly liked the class 25 clips, thanks for uploading
Glad you liked it
Superb a pity no sound as the last scene with the 25 ,she was working like a dog !
Thanks for sharing. Great to see.
Glad you enjoyed it
I was thinking of Steeple Claydon there for a minute on the old Brain line
Great video. The 25 at the end sent to rescue the failed 47 is struggling with the load.
Just imagine the sound!
The frame from the signal box is now at Gotherington on the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway
Great vid. The train at 0:55 is a really strange looking thing.
Engineer's on track machine
Brilliant stuff!!! Thanks for sharing !
My pleasure!
Great video. Like me !
Looks very different there now. Great film again. This is affectionately known as ‘Big T.ts’ crossing after the lady that always used to wave there 😂
Indeed it is!
