I've always been a blackberry guy, i now have a white passport, and i must say, what an awsome it is, pitty that blackberry let itself sleep under the palm tree
I agree with you my friend. I believe blackberry keyone is a phone with personallity. I have a keyone bronze edition and it is amazing phone. My first Blackberry phone. I am Blackberry fan.
blackberry needs a new passport with snapdragon 835 oled display 4000 mah battery and android O. I promise i will buy it blackberry even if it is 1000 $
OMG! YES!! I am a loyal BB user! I have a Priv and LOVE it!! So many people compliment it and when they find out it is a BB, I can see them secretly wanting it!
Love my KeyOne! I had the BlackBerry Pearl years ago and I've been waiting for a solid Android BlackBerry for awhile, this is it for sure. I had the Nexus 6P before and this camera is way ahead of it, I like the camera quality. The phone is much better than I expected and it's everything I've been looking for. I got very tired of the "slab of glass" look .
Saw the old Blackberry in the background, that was the one with the wheel on the side. That was hands down the best design. You could go in and out of menus with one hand as you could wheel select by press. So you could review items with one hand so easy. Cool stuff man, thank you so much for taking the time to make this video! Getting a KeyOne shortly by mail - this video obliterated any buyers remorse I could have had :) I like your style as well!
Getting one today and retiring iPhone 7 appropriately marking 7 years of iPhone frustration. I'll let you know how it goes. Former blackberry 7200 to Curve user.
This video makes me want to run out and get this new Blackberry. I presently have the classic and now need to get the next one and the key one will be the phone. thumbs up thanks
Thank you so much for this amazing review, I'm more than convinced now about my choice of the Keyone, and I'll get the Black edition which has 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM, what matters for me is to get things done, and also the original design and looks of the phone as you've mentioned in the video, for the Camera I think it's good, fair and will do the job. Good luck Dave and I'm waiting for other accurate reviews. M-A
The best part is Battery backup, I got the device two days back only one time charged still i have 16% battery left, 22 hours ago used. I feel personally the display size be 4 inch means looks more handy for use....
I replaced a HTC One with the Keyone (black edition 4G/64G) and for me it is a much better phone. As someone in the senior years I always struggled with the screen keyboard, and the Android autocorrect did not work well for me. It's a very big big relief to go back to the blackberry keyboard. Sure the keys are small but they work well and my typing is much better. I am not a heavy user and I am getting up to 3 days of battery life. On 2-day trips I have been forgetting the charger and coming back with 20%+ left. The review didnt really mention the BB Hub, which brings a range of message types together in one screen (SMS, several email addresses, BBM, Whatsapp, etc). I really find that useful. I was sad to give up my BB Bold, but this more than makes up for its loss. Oh and finally, the finger print scanner is brilliant - the first one I have really found to work.
theres a 3rd party client for BB10 called telegrann. However, if theres android 4.3 support on the native telegram app, it should run. The ART on bb10 is essentially android 4.3 run in a VM
I bought the KEYone from Best Buy and activated through the Verizon website as a replacement to my PRIV. It was up and running in 10 minutes. Set up was easy and the short cuts using the keyboard are awesome. Battery life is amazing. I wanted to learn how to go to split-screen for viewing 2 apps at once. So I tweeted #blackberry help and received clear instructions next day. love it.
sold my s8 and got a keyone. im really happy with the bb. nice to have the fastest processor and best camera on s8 but for what will you use all that power? for me battery, and that awesome keyboard are epic, the rest is oke tho the camera is not the best but its good enough to make very nice pictures.
Love the black BlackBerry Keyone, Feels great.. Initially i thought to have Silver one, But India only BLACK version is available, Black is hot device simply Loved it. But i don't know how the sliver one,, But black one looks more better than pic.
The iPhone has sound on the top and bottom. And I do have the 7 so that’s why. But I do like this video actually. Thinking of buying a blackberry phone so thank you. This is what I needed!!!
I am using a BB KEYone. Excellent phone. I am not a gamer, and therefore I am not critical for super high performance as like the gaming type phones. BB has the best security in the industry. I am also using a Motion. For general use, I like the keyboard on the KEYone. It is terrific. The KEYone is very similar to the Passport in some ways. I use the phone mainly for business type use. It is great for me. I also stream music to a Bluetooth headset, sometimes watch news videos, and do a lot of browsing and emails. I like this phone a lot. As for support, if you are in Canada BELL will support Blackberry phones.
I stopped at the BlackBerry Passport. However, i was in line for the BlackBerry KeyOne but opted for Samsung's Note 8 instead. As I needed a powerhouse beast with more screen real estate as my daily driver, due to my business ventures. *Definitely No Regrets!*
I returned the note 8 saved a lot of money for doing the same thing on a phone. Those gimick features was not enough.. had bad experience with s7 lagging after 3 months. At first samsung phones are fast, just give it couple of month..hope it works for u tho
Samir Noor, Sorry for your poor S series experience. Absolutely no issues with my Note 8, (@the 2 months mark now)! I bought it outright from residual income, so the price wasn't a dealbreaker. All the best with your current device.
OnThe old blackberrys, you could set your alarm and turn the phone off. The blackberry would turn itself on when it reached the alarm time. Do the new blackberrys do this?
What do you think about the LIMITED EDITION BLACK that just got released in India with souped up specs....? They're calling it the Vader berry abroad. Thats enough for me to go out and get one....
Sadly for some reason it wont be sold in the US. However, it has the same base specs except double the internal store and 4gb of ram. I have to say though, my base model keyone doesnt seem to be hurting for memory
Hey Dave, I'm glad you touched on the scrolling feature of the physical keyboard. I find it is choppy too and takes a lot of getting used to if you want it to be smooth. I'm hoping there will be a software update for this in the future. Do you think that's a possibility? Great video, I'm a new subscriber. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the quick response. I am a pastor who is always on the go and out of the country a lot. Do you think the keyone would be a great device to keep all of my notes for travel and call quality from other countries? Thanks
My father is a pastor also. I grew up a preacher's kid (pk) lol. I'd say it depends on the network you're on. Verizon is not great when it comes to international but AT&T is. If you're on AT&T with this phone, then you'll be fine. Call quality is incredible and so is the speaker phone if you do a lot of conference calls like I do. Good luck.
Please, explain in which of the photo's you took in video above, which and why the iphone photo's are vastly superior. Oh before I forget I like your videos ok, and I'm not having a go and I don't own a Keyone phew got that out. I'm baffled you see, I'm an Architect and constantly take photos especially of old listed buildings. All these photos have to be 1st class. Thanks.
No worries. I got the same question from another viewer. lol. To me, the bananas in the bowl on my table were a pale yellow, not the over-saturated yellow the KeyOne produced. So, while the iPhone 7 produced a picture that was more true to what my eye saw, the Keyone produced a picture that was more pleasing to look at. Make sense? So it just depends on what you're looking for out of a camera. I personally would rather touch up the photo myself, than have the camera automatically do it to its own liking. Another example is the couch. My couch is actually the deep red you see in the iPhone picture. The Keyone automatically brightened it up and made the couch look a few shades lighter. So, again, the iPhone produced what my eye sees, but the Keyone produced a brighter more color saturated picture. Depends on what you're looking for. Hope that helps and thanks for stopping by the channel.
can you use it safely without a case? so nice looking but must need a case to protect it? can you just protect the screen somehow and go without a case safely?
agoodmama currently I do not have a case, only a screen protector but I am very careful with my phones and only dropped one 1 time in the last few years. If you drop phones often, I would put a case on it. If you're careful then it does not need a case. It's very sturdy
Late reply but yes this phone is hard to break! th-cam.com/video/Y6qT8A3IsGA/w-d-xo.html But without case the grippy nes in back plate will fade as you scrub the rubber in the back my friend Z10 has lost all of his texture back.... So without case it's good to go better than any smartphone today but for the sake of esthetic clear case do better...
Very good video, I enjoyed very much. Agree with you on almost everything. I am just curious about what it is that you find more advanced on the iPhone or what are the features that the iPhone has that the KEYone lacks. In my opinion it is just the other way around, I know very well both devices and I couldn't write the amount of features the KEYone has that the iPhone lacks because it would be an essay... Thanks for the video!
Paul Diaz In my opinion, iPhone has a better screen, better resolution, better contrast ratio which means no black bars when watching videos, better processor which means the GUI is a lot smoother when compared to the Keyone, iPhone has better image stabilization in videos, the iPhone is IP67 water resistant and Keyone is not, the camera is better if you're looking for photos that are more true to what the eye sees. If you like warmer pictures, then the Keyone is better. The Keyone definitely has a list of items that the iPhone doesn't have as well but the items listed above are what I see as iPhone doing better. What are your thoughts?
Dave Steals The Show, well, as for the 'black bars' it has to do with aspect ratio of the screen, which on the KEYone is optimized for other things other than media consumption, but that really isn't something that could be considered "more advanced", it just a different focus, I'd rather enjoy the multi-window feature and all the convenience of the QWERTY keyboard, and for me that would make the 3:2 aspect ratio more desirable. The screen on the KEYone has a higher pixel density than the screen on the iPhone. The cameras are really not that far from each other, the one on the iPhone may have a better 'automatic' mode, as for the OIS it's a nice feature to have, but a deal breaker for just a handful of users, as most people are not recording for professional matters. The IP67 is a cool thing, luckily I am not Aquaman, and for me it's more useful having things as endless free app availability, Miracast support, a usb-c port, fast charging 3.0, and twice as much juice to get through the day.
Dave Steals The Show when it comes to "more advanced" the KEYone beats the iPhone all the way to the end. The iPhone is surviving out of popularity, out of having become a trend and stayed that way for quite some time. But after its lack of innovation, its inability to support universal protocols, latest technologies, and accessibility to free services, I wonder how long it'll last... People need to wake up. The BlackBerry KEYone next to the iPhone is like a Ferrari next to a Toyota Corolla. The Corolla is a good vehicle, but you just can't compare it to a Ferrari.
Great review! Sounds like you've made the right choice for you with the K1! I had a BlackBerry Passport but when the apps I needed stopped being available, I jumped to a secondhand Note 4 which with the BlackBerry apps loaded on it, has done really well. I'd like to jump back to BlackBerry but so far been a bit reluctant. Would you recommend the K1 and am I likely to miss anything from the Samsung UI?
I am also having problem with the call..i can't do outgoing call or even incoming..but I can use the LTE on the go and send sms..i am currently in south korea..i hope I can fixed this one..
Thanks for the review!! I'm still on the fence. I'm an Apple person -- exclusively -- since 1987. I loved my Motorola StarTAC and then my Razr, but I jumped on the iPhone wagon with the 3g, then the 4s, and now I'm using the SE (I keep my phones for a long time, and I chose the SE because I preferred its small size and more "industrial" angular edges). For me, however, the big decision comes down to: do I sacrifice my entire cyber-life experience, immersed in the Apple ecosystem, with its seamless transition between my iPhone, my home Mac, and my office Mac -- just for a physical keyboard on my phone? Decisions, decisions ...
Have you ever owned a BlackBerry? If you've been with Apple all this time, it will be very difficult to switch to a BlackBerry. It would be easier, if you're going to switch to an Android phone, to go with a Pixel. This way you're going from one pure software system to another.
Picked up the Black Edition Keyone from a UK vendor. Biggest caveat with having an unlocked Keyone without major carrier support is that some features don't work, like Mobile Hotspot. I don't care though. Everything else works, this phone is beautiful and HIGHLY functional, and EVERY person who's seen it has asked me what it is and told me how damn good it looks. If Blackberry decides to bring the Keyone Black Edition to the U.S. I'll take a small loss (mine is mint and cased and screen protected already) and sell mine for the U.S. spec, but I'm not missing it one bit. Keyone is a damn good phone. I hope TCL can really build on the hardware, because if this is where Blackberry is starting off in partnering with TCL, we're in for a great treat. I love my Keyone.
I've had the Blackberry K1 for 3 months and the cons are outweighing the pros.... PROS: -Best battery life in the business - bar none! -Fairly fast moving from App to App -Blackberry Hub -Superb camera -Nice looking and unique from the masses -Supposedly the most secure Android phone (unable to verify) -The apps I use often work flawlessly on the phone - Whatsapp, Uber and few others. CONS: -Screen popped off after 2 months of use (did not drop the device, it's a quality issue blackberry acknowledged) -Speaker sucks on phone calls. Need to put the device close to my ear if driving, or if even the slightest background noise -Keys on keypad are way too small. I'm getting use to it, but still small. The Blackberry Passport is 100% better for typing -Poor call signal. I've worked with my carrier to correct this and they could not help. Apparently the K1 has a weak antenna. -Sometimes the speaker just goes out on phone calls and the other party can not hear me. Not sure if this is a software bug. -The screen is kinda small for watching videos. But this not a big issue because it's a business phone anyway. -Skype works okay for phone calls, but not for sending photos through the Skype app. All in all, not pleased with the Keyone. If the Blackberry Passport had Android it would be a perfect device.
Dave hopefully yours will be fine. There's a video from some dude that reviews smart phones claiming blackberry fixed the screen issue and basically made the screen unremovable. The guy initially reviewed the phone and said it was one of the worst 6 phones he tested. But after BB fixed the screen issue, he tested it again and said the phone passed his quality test for ruggedness.
Mike Miller Wow, I'm really surprised by you having low signal. I work in wildlife conservation and 2 of my coworkers have an iphone6 plus and Samsung Galaxy S8, I have service in many places they don't and have even made solid calls with 0 bars.
I'm able to often make calls with O bars but it's usually choppy. In several cases my inbound calls go straight to voice mail so the reception is no the best, and I'm not the only one apparently. There's a growing number of complaints on Crackberry of people with the same reception issues. I think the first batch of these devices had these issues.
Does Blackberry have the blend anymore, or a program you can easily send an SMS to your contacts from your PC, without taking your phone out of your pocket or holster.... that use to save alot of time when in office.
Hmmm. ok. I switched to iphone 2 years ago, as the rest of my family has an iphone, (miss my BB dearly) but can I integrate an SMS conversation with all 3 of them at same time, (with Android ?), and also have a PERSONAL calendar that can mix all 3 schedules/events in one calendar (mixing android with iphone calendar)
Myles Masson I'm in a very similar situation. My entire family is on iPhone and they hate that I keep switching around as it causes grief for everyone. If you're going to switch to Android there are a few things you need to do BEFORE you switch that will help the transition be smoother and less painful. You need to turn off iMessage. iMessage is a pain in the ass and will cause you to be stuck in Apple's iMessage system even after you switch to Android. Thus all group messages you're a part of will not allow messages to go to your android phone. You also have to turn off Find My iPhone. Then, once you switch, if group messaging still doesn't work, everyone will have to delete any group conversation from their phones AND delete your contact from their phone and add it again. This will refresh their phone and have you as a non-iMessage user after that. OR, you can just have everyone use Telegram. This is what I did. My whole family uses Telegram now and they all love it. Then it doesn't matter what phone anyone has. If they switch, they just need to re-download Telegram and all of their conversations will be there again. Good luck. Hope that helped.
Question... Well, first, thanks for the review.... Secondly.. I keep hearing that iphones tend to have problems with connecting to wifi. I believe that is a major turn- off. Any comments on that?? I can´t decide whether to go for an iphone or blackberry (I really want a classic keyboard, I am girl, but I have large hands and I hate that there is just not much choice...)
Do you care of backup contacts, calandar etc.? Is it possible with bb to synchronize between ipad or win10 desktop? What about google? Do they scan all my contacts, phone No. and more? What do you think about safety of my personal data? I had a BB 10 classic. BB is best in typing and word suggestion. It is much more better than apple. It is a pity that BB trust google. It would be my choice. And when they would be able to make easy backup in the cloud or the desktop.
I currently use Google contacts, Google calendar, etc... When I change phones, even if it’s iOS or Android, i just download the Google apps and log in and all my info is there.
What the best way to get ALL of my texts and other content from Passport SE to Keyone? The content app transfer from blackberry world has a limit onthe amount of text i can transfer? Any better suggestions?
olen jessie Personally I would for a few reasons. 1. The Xiaomi Mi Mix may be the right size for many, but way too big for me. 2. Not a fan of hard corners on the rectangular size. 3. No app drawer? Craziness. 4. I think the camera on the Blackberry Keyone is just as good if not better than the MI Mix. 4. What up with the location of the front facing camera? Why did they put it there? So weird. Anyway, hope that helps.
there are different networks carriers that use different bands. some also still use the Sim card, while others still do, but are locked in or programmed and need to be re-programmed, etc to work again under that carrier. these are known as CDMA, while the regular sim card are GSM AT&T and T-Mobile can swap phones with each other with the sim card. or other GSM phones generally. Verizon and Sprint carriers use the CDMA ones, while Sprint phones can be switched/reprogrammed to Verizon, its not the case with Sprint as they only accept Sprint sold phones. Having the ability to program the phones or chips so they are able to be exclusive like that. it sucks because im a sprint user and can only use Q10 with BB10 (which is better than android imo) but they didnt support the Passport nor the Priv, but finally the KEYOne, so im happy to switch sometime in the future, but will have to say good bye to BB10. As long as the Hub works the same in Blackberry's android, I could be fine :)
Thanks for that really important point about Verizon not supporting the device....I have been with BB for many years...even went back after iPhone 4S mostly because of battery life....the thing is I don't like giant phones and this one is a giant phone....so I am thinking of going back to iPhone with their release of SE which is a smaller phone....it's nice and compact and does what I need....not a big app guy and mostly emails, texts and pics...so that being said the iPhone SE's battery life should be fine...the K1 is just way too big for me...the Classic is the largest I am willing to go....and now that BB has also let go of it's OS and moved on to Android I also am not so happy...Verizon apparently skipping this device and moving on to the Motion which will be touchscreen...what's the point if there's no keyboard of staying on a BB? Touchscreen is best on other devices.....okay thanks again!
Anthony NYC I totally agree. Not sure why BB is making a phone with no keyboard. Especially if it's not even a Blackberry OS phone. It's Android. When it comes to Android phones that are touch screen there are better options. Anyway, thanks for stopping by.
Exactly....there are many superior options for touch screen...no question and the loss of the BB OS is something that feels like it's just pushing me away from BB which is fine although I'd love to stay...what are your thoughts on getting the iPhone SE....? Simple phone user here....I hear there's a new SE2 coming but not sure I can wait...BB Classic seems to be really breaking down now in it's 3rd year....thanks!
Anthony NYC I had the iPhone SE and loved it. Best of both worlds. Apple's greatest phone size paired with the upgraded camera and processor and latest iOS. It was awesome. I haven't heard any word on the SE 2 but I'm going to go do some research now.
That's the same exact thing i was thinking.. i have verizon and i wanted to buy the unlocked version of the keyone.. i guess it isn't a good thing then☹️
gng11 video stabilization does not exist on Keyone when you shoot higher than 1080P. I shoot in 4K so no video stabilization. Even when you shoot in the lower resolutions it does a really poor job. It's there, but it's not really there. Know what I mean?
fredy aguirre BlackBerry is selling a GSM phone that will work on the AT&T network. It looks like AT&T will support it because they just announced they will have the exclusive rights to the all black BlackBerry KeyOne. This upsets me because I have Verizon but there will be many AT&T customers happy with this decision.
The GSM version has the radios for both t mobile and AT&T frequency's. However the black version is supported fully by AT&T. keep in mind though, their version is still the 32gb internal 3gb ram version, not the 4GB version sold internationally
Should of gone go best buy, we have u covered on activating and support, also and if u call blackberry your just being directed to TCL customer support as they handle all Blackberry mobile questions
My Priv died yesterday was going to wait till KEYtwo came out till i replaced it but now will buy this gorgeous phone but its a bank holiday today so have to wait till tomorrow to get one
You missed the biggest advantage of the Keyone, it is much more secure than other phones, so you're less likely to have your information stolen or otherwise fall victim to criminal activity.
How fucked up is the American carrier system? In Germany theres no issue to use whatever phone with whatever carrier. I never ran into such an issue where a carrier refused tech support.

Wow! Your conclusion surprised me a lot, appreciate your honesty. You are going against the tide. Waiting to get a Key one asap.
the awesome battery life has me convinced... I am planning on getting the KeyOne to replace my work android phone :)
Anson Chiu nice
wont be disappointed, youll get more shit done too
Anson Chiu dont do it! I got it and it is so slow and laggy.
mrmrs100 it does not lag. Ever
I just got it a few days ago. Coming from the Passport, and its quick. no lag whatsoever
Been using the limited edition black keyone for a week and I am well and truly impressed! Everything that I want and need.......
Sanjay Menzies Can't believe you got the black one. Very lucky. Enjoy.
I already had BlackBerry KeyOne as my daily driver. It is really amazed me.
Love the keyone because of how different it looks, and it can do the same as other phones.
blackberry needs a new passport with snapdragon 835 oled display 4000 mah battery and android O. I promise i will buy it blackberry even if it is 1000 $
Great clear honest video... did the same went 'KEYone and no looking back..have forgotten where my charger is this device just keeps on going!!wow!

Good video. KEYone is an amazing device. Been using it since launch in Canada and still the best phone I have ever had. Keep it coming BlackBerry.

Great video man!! I can't wait to get my hands on 1. The BB Bold 9000 was my favorite phone and I wish they would bring it back lol.
Jerome Kisart Thanks. BB Bold 9000 rocked. I would even love to see an android blackberry classic or android q10.
H i Can you run Telegram on it? Telegram is a big part of my work day and can't go without it. Let me know. Thanks.

nice to have the fastest processor and best camera on s8 but for what will you use all that power?
for me battery, and that awesome keyboard are epic, the rest is oke tho the camera is not the best but its good enough to make very nice pictures.
Tom van der Poorten ik zit er ook overna te denken! Lijkt me een tof toestel.
Definitely a step down from the S8
nice review, keyone rocks!!!! , I am ordering tomorrow from amazon Indian variant Blackberry Black Keyone with 4GB Ram
Let me know how you like the black variant. Looks nice.
I have ordered today only, I will let you know with in two days..
Love the black BlackBerry Keyone, Feels great.. Initially i thought to have Silver one, But India only BLACK version is available, Black is hot device simply Loved it. But i don't know how the sliver one,, But black one looks more better than pic.

I returned the note 8 saved a lot of money for doing the same thing on a phone. Those gimick features was not enough.. had bad experience with s7 lagging after 3 months. At first samsung phones are fast, just give it couple of month..hope it works for u tho
Samir Noor,
Sorry for your poor S series experience.
Absolutely no issues with my Note 8, (@the 2 months mark now)!
I bought it outright from residual income, so the price wasn't a dealbreaker.
All the best with your current device.
I love my Blackberry keyOne. I have had blackberry’s for 10 years at least
awesome. me too.
PRIV 2 got me hooked. blackberry reeled me in with the keyone. I'm a blackberry guy now
Nice
Me too... going from IPhone SE soon!!
Very good I'm liking the blackberry
Just got mine, It arrives Tuesday. I'm really excited lads
enjoy
+Dave Steals The Show thanks I am right now. 😎😎😎
I just got one too! Still in the early stages of getting to know it:-) Replaces my Passport.
KEY2 is just around the corner. Maybe next month.
Dave Steals The Show. You really surprised me with your decision, though I think it's a good one. Enjoy your Keyone. I wish I could buy one soon.
So, the camera is the same lens as the Pixel. You can download an APK pack for the Blackberry. Essentially it would be the exact same results
Get this, it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. You can use any headphones you want with it, what a great idea!
OnThe old blackberrys, you could set your alarm and turn the phone off. The blackberry would turn itself on when it reached the alarm time. Do the new blackberrys do this?
My BB arrives today!!!
Damon Wright enjoy
Way do so Manet people like blackberry so much Appel is better iPhone don’t have a keyboard it a full touchscreen
What do you think about the LIMITED EDITION BLACK that just got released in India with souped up specs....? They're calling it the Vader berry abroad. Thats enough for me to go out and get one....
Sanjay Menzies it looks awesome. Not available here in US yet. Good luck. Let me know how it is when you get it.
Sanjay Menzies I heard it has 4gb of ram
Jack Sandi-Edwards yup it has and 64 GB storage which is more than what normal one gives
Sadly for some reason it wont be sold in the US. However, it has the same base specs except double the internal store and 4gb of ram. I have to say though, my base model keyone doesnt seem to be hurting for memory
drg19841 the all black is coming to the US but will only be sold exclusively through AT&T
Yeah, I hope it gets better with software updates as well. thanks for the sub.
LOVE that Yoda background! WOO! Seriously, though? The KeyONE's photos were A MILLION times better than the iPhone 7's! LMAO.
I love BlackBerry and you my friend have a new subscriber
can you use it safely without a case? so nice looking but must need a case to protect it? can you just protect the screen somehow and go without a case safely?
agoodmama currently I do not have a case, only a screen protector but I am very careful with my phones and only dropped one 1 time in the last few years. If you drop phones often, I would put a case on it. If you're careful then it does not need a case. It's very sturdy
Late reply but yes this phone is hard to break!
th-cam.com/video/Y6qT8A3IsGA/w-d-xo.html
But without case the grippy nes in back plate will fade as you scrub the rubber in the back my friend Z10 has lost all of his texture back....
Juan P Diaz R all excellent points. I do love my Blackberry so I'm not going to argue any of your points. :)
The Corolla is a good vehicle, but you just can't compare it to a Ferrari.
well a ferrari has amazing performances, but is always at service, so not sure it's a compliment ;)
I'm very happy with my Priv but I want the Key1
Great review! Sounds like you've made the right choice for you with the K1!
I had a BlackBerry Passport but when the apps I needed stopped being available, I jumped to a secondhand Note 4 which with the BlackBerry apps loaded on it, has done really well.
I'd like to jump back to BlackBerry but so far been a bit reluctant.
Would you recommend the K1 and am I likely to miss anything from the Samsung UI?
James Harding I think you'll love the K1
I am also having problem with the call..i can't do outgoing call or even incoming..but I can use the LTE on the go and send sms..i am currently in south korea..i hope I can fixed this one..
Just JB good luck.
At the moment I have my iPhone 7. Is the blackberry also good for students or should I stay with my iPhone
Are you still liking the keyone?
I've had the Blackberry K1 for 3 months and the cons are outweighing the pros....
PROS:
-Best battery life in the business - bar none!
-Fairly fast moving from App to App
-Blackberry Hub
-Superb camera
-Nice looking and unique from the masses
-Supposedly the most secure Android phone (unable to verify)
-The apps I use often work flawlessly on the phone - Whatsapp, Uber and few others.
CONS:
-Screen popped off after 2 months of use (did not drop the device, it's a quality issue blackberry acknowledged)
-Speaker sucks on phone calls. Need to put the device close to my ear if driving, or if even the slightest background noise
-Keys on keypad are way too small. I'm getting use to it, but still small. The Blackberry Passport is 100% better for typing
-Poor call signal.
Mike Miller I haven't had the screen pop on me yet. Not sure if it will but fingers crossed. So far so good on this phone.
Mike Miller yeah. I like that guy's videos. His channel is called JerryRigEverything.
How is snapchat and the front camera on this phone?
Keyone all day
Do you have a matte screen cover on it? Looks dope.
If so, could you link it? Thanks :)
Does Blackberry have the blend anymore, or a program you can easily send an SMS to your contacts from your PC, without taking your phone out of your pocket or holster.... that use to save alot of time when in office.
unfortunately Blackberry Blend is only for BB10 OS. It does not integrate with the KeyOne. :(
Hmmm.
How is it compared to the Samsung Note 4?
This will be my second Blackberry in two years after the Passport which I use as a work phone now.
Very helpful video!
BlackBerry Key2 will be announced on June 7. I would recommend waiting until then to see what they will have.
Thanks for the reply... But that will cost a heap of money.. :) I am kind of searching for a reasonable second hand choice..
Understood. Hey, keep me posted. Let me know what you end up with.
I bought my KEYone at best buy and just put my Sim card from my Verizon PRIV and it worked. didn't have to go to the Verizon store.
But it can have image stabilization on 1080p why don't you mention that
Waiting to review the key2
Dave, how's the sound volume via headphones on BK1, is it loud or what?
Hi i want to buy BB and which wan is better black edition or normal KEYone ?
Sorry for the late reply but I like the black version better.
i also like black version. this phone has very good design but chipset :( snapdragon 625 i think this is big drawback.
How is it that you've had the iPhone since day one but didn't know it has a front speaker? Ps love this phone.
Would you choose the keyone over the mi mix?
olen jessie Personally I would for a few reasons.
What is 'activation'? In the UK we just put a SIM into our phones and we are away!
there are different networks carriers that use different bands. some also still use the Sim card, while others still do, but are locked in or programmed and need to be re-programmed, etc to work again under that carrier. these are known as CDMA, while the regular sim card are GSM
AT&T and T-Mobile can swap phones with each other with the sim card. or other GSM phones generally.
LuchoVena the USA seems like a bit of a mess when it comes to phone networks :(
Hey Dave which tripod you using?
Tech BYTES MeFoto. Here's a link: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009A17FNU/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1503653222&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=mefoto+tripod&dpPl=1&dpID=31EnPikO0oL&ref=plSrch
Thank you buddy, appreciate.
There are two errors in the video description above. "Bleckberry" should be "BlackBerry" and "it's" should be "its".
nice phone but the image stabiilization and picture quality are incredible on the iphone.
Does Snapchat work on it? What about instagram?
What's the matte screen protector you're using on the Keyone? Link please.
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y66DKY6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks, mate!
Nice wallpaper
Awesome! You rock...thanks again!
When you you note with the anything and want to change the smartphone please give it to me...
I love the phone but I don't have cash to buy it..
That's the same exact thing i was thinking.. i have verizon and i wanted to buy the unlocked version of the keyone.. i guess it isn't a good thing then☹️
BB and IPhone is the best out there
I don't know. There are some really good phones out there now. I have really been enjoying the pixel 3 XL these days.
Correction: video stabilisation is available on the Keyone.
gng11 video stabilization does not exist on Keyone when you shoot higher than 1080P. I shoot in 4K so no video stabilization. Even when you shoot in the lower resolutions it does a really poor job. It's there, but it's not really there. Know what I mean?
Are you using a screen protector? What brand are you using?
John Bernard Tizon This is the one I'm using: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y66DKY6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I own 2 KEYᴼᴺᴱ's and have 147 apps and don't experience any lag whatsoever..
Does AT&t support this phone?
fredy aguirre BlackBerry is selling a GSM phone that will work on the AT&T network.
Lesson learned. Next time. I actually love Best Buy. It's my home away from home. lol.
my keyone is amazing , i love it
My Priv died yesterday was going to wait till KEYtwo came out till i replaced it but now will buy this gorgeous phone but its a bank holiday today so have to wait till tomorrow to get one
Key2 is being announced on June 7th. You may want to wait til then if you can. I'll be putting out a video soon.
yeah but im in uk it wont be on sale for weeks and I have no phone
Gotcha. Sounds like no choice. Let me know what you think of KEYone. I love mine.
Like you're videos bro. 💪🏻👏🏻🖖🏻
Did you have to get a SIM card for the phone?
Shae Redding - Rogers yes. Got it at the Verizon store.
Okay! Thank you! I can’t wait to get the phone.
Shae Redding - Rogers Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
I want the phone for all the same reasons.
iphone video adjusting is best👌👌😊
You missed the biggest advantage of the Keyone, it is much more secure than other phones, so you're less likely to have your information stolen or otherwise fall victim to criminal activity.
Peter this was the main selling point for me but its barely ever mentioned
How fucked up is the American carrier system? In Germany theres no issue to use whatever phone with whatever carrier. I never ran into such an issue where a carrier refused tech support.
